Platinum Hunt Pt2 & The Dressing Room

Okay so I took a trip on down to the Dressing room yesterday and I have to say that I fell in love with nearly everything there- especially the skins. If you don’t know what the Dressing Room is, it’s a great little place that provides quality discounted items from top brand named designers. The skins I bought were around 70L or so and I couldn’t be happier. Who says you can’t look good without pinching your wallet until it whimpers??! Certainly not I! I also found this wonderful LeeZu Gown on the hunt as well as an awesome long coat that just made me feel like a queen. I can’t even forget to mention the goodies that I found at Vinyl Cafe which provides great discount items along with freebies for group members. You need to stop on by there to get a pair of these great shoes and other things!

Review | Foot Patrol

Well this is hopefully going to be a new feature of the blog to show off some great shoes and a bit of my opinions and reviews of them and the designs. They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend but I could throw diamonds into the Pacific Ocean. Now I’d be hard pressed to pass up a great pair of shoes for a reasonable price and even some unreasonable prices.

The first pair up for review today is Orage Creation’s Melanie Black Leather. I have a true love of prim toed heels and shoes because they are so much more pleasing to the eye but it does make it hard to wear long pants with them with the invisible prim. These lovely pair of heels comes with the option of the invisible layer for the new Second Life Viewer 2.0 as well as other viewers. The price was a little steeper than I normally go for heels but I think it was money well spent considering the design and detail that went into it. The heel also comes with two options of color- black trim or tan trim and a color changing hud which takes some time getting used to and can be a bit complicated.

I also came across some rocking booties from Kookie (Athena Black) which was featured in a past blog of mine but I felt that it deserved an encore. The detailing is exquisite and I love how they can go from punk to sophisticated in a heart beat! The price was also extremely reasonable and I would recommend this heel to any female out there looking to add a bit of pep in their step. I’m a huge fan of Kalnins not only for their amazing quality of design and creativity but also their low prices on shoes! The biggest draw back that I had with this (Coquette) heel was the fact that it wasn’t prim toed and just showed that unsightly foot mesh- hopefully that will be done away with with the 2.0 viewer! The shoe was a little over 600L and what I loved most about it was the ribbon design and the multitude of colors that comes along with it- through a HUD that is set up with presets and an option to change it individually to your personal preference.

Shows, outfits, Ora Trei- oh my!

Recently I was in a fashion show located at Fashion Institute and it was a smashing success but I wanted to feature one of the gowns I showed in this post. We had to show four but I decided to just choose one of my favorites! This dress is  called Flavor from Ora Trei and I think everyone should have an appreciation for this designer. When I first received it was hard pressed on how I should stylize this outfit as it was a different style than I was normally used to. But being given such a large range of creative license on this show really allowed us all to get into the spirit and be different, new, exciting and truly unique to ourselves and the designs. Ora Trei is a designer based in originality and creativeness so we all had to do our part to show that side of the themes.

I decided to go a bit for the careless cute chick look and I think it went off pretty well. I had found this wonderful little teal jacket from dela, another of my favorite stores that closely matched the color of the belt to really tie in the color contrasts of the dress and accessories. I’ve been falling more and more in love with the shorter hairstyles as I’m normally one to go for long, down my back type of do’s so this was definitely a change from a normal routine. A messy but stylish short cut really added to the “girly rebellious chick” in me and I loved how it framed my face and elongated my neck by really showing off the jacket.

I decided to add some black boots to tie it all together and found these excellent beauties at SLink for 650 which is a great steal although some would end up disagreeing with me there. I absolutely love boots! They’re cute, sassy, comfortable, wearable, and durable although in second life the last really is a moot point to make but I just loved the buckles along the sides and really wanted to showcase them with the outfit. I decided to top it off with some short fingerless grey gloves- in case I ever decided to enter a biker gang (laughs).

Gifts Aplenty – G Field

Now I don’t know anyone around second life or even real life that does not enjoy a great and high quality gift from their favorite designers. I know I sure do. But the winter season is still here and I intend to milk it for all it is bloody worth. I can’t deny that the new season is going to be soon upon us but I want to send the winter season off with a bang and really make sure I get my money’s worth. Too many times do I purchase winter season outfits and see them taking up precious space in my inventory as they are never worn or used again until the time comes that I clean out my inventory and suddenly find them.

I know that I’m not the only one that this occurs to but this happens especially often with group gifts that I recieve on a daily basis and never have the time or bother to open and take a look. This is such a shame for those awesome gifts that end up being thrown aside and the talent used to create them goes to waste. But one of my new years resolutions was to change this around and make this a new day. I recently recieved some awesome group gifts from “G Field” and if you have never been here I urge you all to stop by and take a peek at their great designs and amazingly cheap prices that makes a great wardrobe affordable for anyone! I hope that you all enjoy your gifts and know that not all freebies are for noobs! [Winks]

Just for the Guys!!!!

Okay. This is basically a complete and utter first for me but I hope that it’s well received by the masses. Let me just say doing this was a bit tougher than I thought it would be but I persevered and rocked these outfits out! So you may be thinking what in the world I’m talking about so let me just clarify. I created my first male avatar for blogging on male outfits and articles. Now I should have probably created an entirely new and different account with a male name instead of using my main account. This would’ve saved me a lot of time and prevented a ton of questions from random people as I went on the Just for guys hunt. I have to say that it was entertaining to see what others said when they saw my avatar. I’m told by my female friends I’m a lot hotter as a male than a female but I’ll let you all be the judge since I’m really much too fond of my female avatar and self to change to a male. [Laughs]

Now as I was saying before I began to digress on my new part time, semi look, I joined the Just for the guys hunt since it promised to have some really nice and high quality things for the guys. I never realized how difficult it was to shop for a man so I have to say that all the male models out there have my utmost respect for you and what you do. But below you will see a few of the items I managed to snap up during my little foraging and explorations and I really hope that all of you enjoy it. It took some time and effort- especially trying to get all those hints- but I am really happy with my findings. Enjoy! If you would like to join the Just for the Guys Hunt, click the Link for the locations and hints.

Just any Other Day?

Valentine Tan; Deviant Prim Lashes; Leezu BritPants- Black; Deviant Kitties Grunt Display; Caroline’s Athena Pearls in White”]Leezu!!Who said that you have to cover up for fall? I know I sure didn’t! I was sitting at home the other day, hot as hell and annoyed with the fact that my clothes kept getting in the way. [no I didn’t end up taking it all off tyvm.] Prims are a marvelous thing, especially on an outfit as it can add class, style and just that extra bit of something that other layer-only outfits seem to lack. I love them to death except when the designer ends up creating an outfit only a stick could squeeze their bony behinds into [not all us are a size -10 you know!]. But I’m digressing- again- so let me get back to my point. I was sitting around, annoyed with my oh-so-new and shiny outfit [the product of another successful fashion venture I might add!] when I decided to risk my perfectly proportioned pixels [yes my pixels are perfect!] in a war against the lag to take a peek at my favorite designer’s store- LeeZu! Yes I know what some of you may be thinking: I’ve nearly built a virtual and blogging shrine to her designs but I’m here to tell you about fashion and quality and these designs ARE quality soooooo…..you’ll just have to get over it!

Anyhoo, I was battling the lag when- wouldn’t you know it!- I ran smack damn into a huge wall and fell flat on my behind. After collecting my wits and spare change before the crazy hobos could attack, I got up to curse the wall and everything else in that store. Why in the world do they make everything high rez nowadays?! Don’t you all know that not all of us- the vast majority actually- do not have super computers that we hand-built! I can barely get my email open without causing a major meltdown on my computer, and no it’s not old, I’m just bad. [laughs] So there I was, taking a breath to spew some major hate on that sadistic prim they like to call a wall when I saw it! It was magical, pure heaven! My eyes glazed over- yes there was definitely some glaze-age going on- and my mouth started to water (I just thank god I didn’t start drooling.) It was LeeZu’s Margo Jacket and I was bowled over, I’m not quite sure how I missed this- probably on one of those day I was walking through a sea of grey because my graphics card had gone on strike and refused to help rez anything on my screen! But as they say, it was better late than never!

The minute I saw this outfit an entire look came to me in a dream, okay it was during my hallucinating mushroom moments but all the same it came to me! I was in shock and in pleasure at this look and decided that it was a sign that I had to create it as soon as possible. Wouldn’t you believe it that it took me all of three days to find everything I needed to style this outfit. Sounds unbelievable doesn’t it? Well it’s not. I typically spend quite a time just LOOKING for things to fit a style and not saving up for the actual outfit. I chose small things with red highlights to accentuate my skin and give it that great goth/punk feel.

On this quest I wanted to punk it up and go with something that was so unconventional it would make even the most hardcore conservative stand up and say “I need that look!” because isn’t that what selling clothes and designs is all about? Now there were several ways I could’ve taken it- a nice classic look or this style. I was in writers block mode so I tried to go out of the box to get my juices flowing and I think I succeeded rather beautifully!

Fashion Addict’s Paradise

As anyone who has read any of my previous posts on this blog, it’s obvious that I can be quite cautious with my meager amount of Lindens unless I see something that is amazingly high quality and something I just can’t live without. As a female I know that there are many women who say that on a daily basis every time they walk past a store but I probably only do such things twice a week, three times at the most! [Grins] So I was browsing around and searching for more top design stores as I like to do when I’m in a bored and lazy mood when I came across Le.Look, an amazing mall that has it all- menswear, women’s wear, dresses, skirts, casuals, accessories, jewelry, etc. Now I know what you may be thinking, how does this mall differ from the thousands of malls that litter the grid with their many vendors that populate it? Well this is a model and fashion addict’s paradise and I don’t say that lightly! It had everything that one might need to update their wardrobe with some new stylish choice pieces that would just put your fashion senses over the edge.

When I teleported into the mall I was stunned with the entire look of the mall. It was chic, modern, clean, stylish and everything that I could wish for in a shopping center. The style, layout, and detail made me want to stay there upon hours and hours just looking at the stores, not the clothes mind you but the stores alone! But after I picked my tongue off the ground and rolled it back into my mouth I set out to take a look at this magical new world and what all that it had to offer and I’m so glad I wasn’t disappointed. Store after store held the names of Second Life’s top designers such as [LeeZu!], Vista Animations (model poses galore), LeLutka, Aoharu, Calypso Giano, :ROZOREGALIA:, and so much more. This is a place of utter temptation for those that are really in need of rehab. [Laughs] It’s also not for those that are tight with their budget but I believe there is always a time to let loose, just don’t let it put you in the hole! I will admit that I left with arms laden with bags upon bags of purchases from my “window shopping” ventures and while I may regret it later, instant gratification can be wonderful! It’s a place I recommend to both men and women to check out and enjoy. Be sure to take a friend along to be the voice of reason when you get the urge to make that wallet/purse cry! [Laughs]

Revenge never looked so Good!

It’s time for me to talk about a designer and store that it is close to my heart – although that can be said for many other stores as well so please do not despair designers! I came across this particular store during on of my many shopping hunts one day and I’m so thankful that I was made aware of this store! She Wants [Revenge] is definitely not for the faint of heart or those that are into the conservative look. This designer appealed to the sexy rebel in me and not only that, they regularly give out gifts to all their group members- quality gifts! I’m sure there are many stores out there that give out freebies to their group members, most of the time things that have not sold as well as the believed it would but these outfits are specially made for gifts and the designer truly puts thought into what she gives out. Not only that but she has an awesome affiliate vendor program for those that want a little extra L$ in their pockets and help spread the word about these wonderful designs! I’m proud to say I’m one of those many affiliates. [Smiles]

They have everything from dresses, latex, pant outfits, lingerie, to shoes. These outfits are definitely not for those that are afraid of color and the extreme and dramatic look. Whenever I wear one of her outfits I feel daring, sexy, and ready to paint the town red along with a different array of colors! The seams of each outfit are perfect and there are none of those unseemly glitches that you would get with other outfits. If you are looking for something unique that will never fit the mold then She Wants [Revenge] is just for you! Pictures to come soon so stay tuned. Hopefully I have your curiosity piqued. [Grins]
