Welcome to the August Watercolour Challenge at Happy Little Stampers. Each month we have a fun twist for you to use if you wish or it can just be a free anything goes watercolour.  This month the twist is ‘flowers’.

I had an idea for this new Altnew ‘Starry Flowers’ stamp set.  I fell in love with it when I first saw it!

To begin, I white heat embossed the large flower image on watercolour paper.  Then I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours to build up the blue colour at the top of the image washing it lightly down towards the bottom. The flowers were then picked out with washes and brush strokes. Centres and splatters used the gold in the set.

To finish, the sentiment from SSS ‘Big Scripty Greetings’ was heat embossed with Ranger gold embossing powder.

Hello and welcome

Here we are – already in August! This week our new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday is Karen’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge.
This week my card features some of my favourite flowers – Hydrangeas.  I love the gorgeous colours on their huge flower heads. It is one of my old original stamps and very well used.

I watercoloured the flowers after stamping on a piece of watercolour paper.  I stamped the first image in the middle, masked it and stamped to the left side. The same was done on the right side to give the impression of several blooms on the branch!

The centres used gold pen and the panel was trimmed and sprayed with Glimmer Mist to add some sparkle.

The fun started by cutting MFT ‘Celebration’ birthday die across the middle. At first I was thinking of layering the word to make an eclipse sentiment, but I changed my mind a cut it again in some white sparkle card and make it one layer.

The word wishes from part of MFT ‘Sweet Somebunny’ set was white heat embossed.

The panel was then layered on dark blue card, before adding to the card front leaving a small border.

It’s that time of the week when we launch a new challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday. This week is – Marsha’s “All About Holidays” Challenge.  This is a change from our previous Christmas Challenge.  I hope the change excites you to join in this week.

My card this week is a simple CAS card featuring A Wild Rose Studio stamp set – ‘Mia with Candy’.  The image is copic coloured  with some Wink of Stella for some shimmer on the candy cane and some Glossy Accents on the holly berries.

The card front is cut using Cutplorations – Wonky Rectangles Dies.

Here we are with our new Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday Blog.  Heidi is the lovely hostess this week.  We look forward to seeing your entries!

We are currently in the middle of winter her in Australia!  However, I’m definitely a SUMMER girl!! So this week, I decided to go along with all the summer ideas coming out from all the stamp companies.

It is a fun, light hearted card featuring MFT – Penguins in Paradise stamp set which I coloured with copics (for a change!) and fussy cut.

The ‘waves’ used a piece of scrap I had made playing with some Distress Oxides and water flicks, cut with MFT – Making Waves dies.  The sand island was cut f ree hand from a piece of kraft packaging.

I added some Distress Ink blending on the card front for the sky,  before adding the other elements onto the card front.

It was lots of fun making this card and using some great stamps I hadn’t used much!

Hello again and welcome.

Tonight I’m sharing a card I made playing with Art impressions Lighthouse Circlet Tryfold Set.  I loe this set, but wanted to see how I could use it in other ways. This time I stamped the scenes separately onto circles, I had die cut from the card front using SSS Stitched Circles Die Set.  In the background of the fence stamp, I added some simple shrubs, beach and ocean views.

Each scene was watercoloured  using Distress Inks with some added white acrylic paint, before gluing them back onto the card front.

The sentiment is from MFT – All  Smiles Stamp Set.

After cutting several of the Memory Box Seaside Treasure Dies from packaging card and washing them with white paint mixed with Distress Inks.  ( I use the packaging as I like the shade of craft! LOL!)

Welcome to this week’s Watercooler Wednesday – “All About Occasions” Challenge over at our blog.  Crystal is our lovely host this week.

This week I decided to share a special card I made. The lace on this card came from the invitation envelope.  I love to make birthday cards using these little items to make your  cards just that little bit special.

The floral bouquet is Altnew’s  ‘Just Because’ Stamp Set, which I’ve used quite a few times lately!  The Distress water colouring and grey background paper, again reflect the colours on the invitation. After fussy cutting, the image was added to the background lace with some fun foam and fine blue metallic thread.  I finished it with a touch of Wink of Stella.

The sentiment is from Just Rite – Wedding Nested Sentiments and the background panel was cut with Cutplorations – Wonky Rectangles.

Welcome back for another Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday.  This week Charlotte is hosting or  Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge.

For my card this week, I decided to go back to watercolouring flowers and play with Altnew ‘Recollections’ stamp set.  The frame is made by stamping the main image, masking the long side sections, and then stamping the bottom section of the second image.  The stamping used Memento London Fog ink and was watercoloured using Distress Inks.

A small amount of Wink of Stella and white  pen was used to add some finishing touches.

The sentiment is from Altnew ‘Wishing You’ set, stamped in Brilliance Lightning Black ink.

I was really pleased with the very soft look of the panel.

Welcome

I had some fun with a new AI Kangaroo Mouthful Stamp Set I had won and decided to enter it in the latest Art Impressions Challenge.

The background was created by blending Distress Inks, similar to a night sky, followed by some splatters of water and white paint, as well as stencilling the Southern Cross with paint. It was then cut with a stitched die and added to the card front.

The kangaroo was stamped in black (with the pouch opening removed), and water coloured with Distress Inks. After fussy cutting, it was added to the front with foam tape.

The sentiment was stamped on white card and mounted on a red strip.

The flag image was added to a toothpick, before placing it in the kangaroo’s hand.
