I Hope Your Birthday is a SPLASH!

Hello and welcome

I had lots of fun creating this cute little beach scene on a slimline card. I hope you like it too!

After sketching out the layout for the card, I stamped the fun animals using MFT – Sunshine & Friendship stamp set and the ball and palm trees from MFT – Penguins in Paradise stamp set.

These were watercoloured using Distress Inks and then used them to create the beach, waves and sky. Some white acrylic paint was used to add details to the waves, beach and clouds.

The sentiment is from the Sunshine and Friendship set.

To finish I added some die cuts from Memory Box – Seaside Treasures dies.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments and will be sure to check out your blog.

I hope all is going well for you all! Stay safe!

Cheers

Helen

I decided to make a shaker card with my dies this month.

I started by creating a pretty background piece using some Cosmic  Shimmer Pixie Powder sprayed with water.

I cut MFT – Die-namics -Celebration die once in white card, once from the shimmer background, once from fun foam and once from dark sparkle card.

It was then a matter of inlaying the cosmic letters into the white panel and attaching it to the card front. Next the fun foam frame was added and then the shaker elements.

The dark card had acetate attached to the back form the shaker and it was attached over the fun foam.

The cute little animals from MFT – Pawty Time were watercoloured with Tombow inks and fussy cut.

The hat, balloon and box were stamped on a piece of background, fussy cut and attached to the coloured images. Raised tape was used to add them to the card front.

A few stars finished my card.

I hope you like shaker cards as much as I do!! 🙂

Prize – a $20 voucher!

I had a lot of fun with this card as I decided to make a pull slider. Please refer to Jennifer McGuire’s You Tube video.

I used the cute PB – Friendship stamp set for my image, copic coloured and fussy cut.

The ocean was created using MFT – Stitched Scallop Edges die cut twice, blended with Distress inks and sprayed wtih shimmer mist. Once dry they were layered together to make the waves.

The card front was cut using CUTplorations – Wonky Rectangle Dies and had clouds using MFT – Clouds using Distress ink. The sentiment was from the PB – Kool Kats stamp set and I drew the birds by hand.

The sentiment on the pull tag was a combination of SSS- Hello You stamp set and ‘friend’ came from the other sentiment in the orignal stamp set.

The ‘pull’ is from Mama Elephant – Mini Everyday Messages.

I hope this fun little boatload of pups brings you a smile. I love to watch them sail across the card!! 🙂

Hello and welcome

I had coloured this panel, but hadn’t finished it. So I decided to it was time.

The stamp is from Mama Elephant -Botanic Hello. I’m not sure how old it is but I’ve had it about 4 years.

The panel of watercolur paper was stamped and watercoloured using Distress Inks. Colours were washed out to the background.

The ‘Hello’ was coloured using Wink of Stella Gold pen.

It was added to some pale green card.

Best Wishes to You

Hello and welcome

Today I have another card with no colouring!! As I went through my box of scraps of cardstock I had decorated, I found a scrap left over from a prvious project. I loved the colour, so I didn’t throw it out.

The Mama Elephant Butterfly Kisses flower and then the sentiment was gold heat embossing on a card front cut using Mama Elephant – Creative Cuts panel die.

Next was adding some gold splatters.

The flowers were then stamped and heat embossed 3 times on the scrap before being fussy cut.

These were then arranged over the original card front flower using raised tape.

The butterfly was also gold heat embossed on a scrap of blue.

So quick and easy, but pretty.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.  I love to read your comments and will be sure to check out your blog.

I hope all is going well for you all! Stay safe!

Just a Note (HLS Watercolour)

Hello and welcome

Today I’m back with HLS Watercolour Challenge for August, 2021. This year it’s Anything Goes so long as it features watercolour. So easy to join in!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 6e20e-hls2bxmas2btemplate.png

This month my card has no colouring!!!! How amazing!!

I started by making a panel of various green Distress Inks. I slowly built up the layers of colour by smooching the inks and drying between layers. I kept going till I liked the variety of colour.

It was then time to stamp Mama Elephant – Wild Meadow stamp, placing it where I thought there was a difference in the colours. It was the fussy cut.

A black, then narrow white strip of card was added to the base.

A piece of black card was embossed using Craft Concepts – Christmas Vine EF.

A section of this EF card was added to the corner of the card front and then the vine panel was added.

The sentiment from the Mama Elephant and the little black butterflies stamped using the M E Butterfly Kisses set.

I was pleased with the way it came together and all those greens on the leaves.

Please head over to our blog and check out the wonderfully inspirational work by the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will find the time to join our challenge this month.

I look forward to seeing what you create!  Good luck!
