Penny Black Saturday Challenge – February 2026

Hello and welcome

I’m back with the new February Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional – Romance.!)

My card uses unused images from PB – My Sweet stamp set to make a background. It was Distress watercoloured and finished with some small dots usung a Gelly Roll pen and some clear Wink of Stella.

The sentiment is PB – Sweet wishes die cut and layered up and overed with Wink of Stella. The stamped sentiments are from the same stamp set and PB – Nice One!

Time Out has a new challenge for you  that opens today and runs through to February 18. This time it is a Pick Two challenge … and your choices are

CHALLENGE DESCRIPTION.

Our wonderful sponsor, Lawn Fawn, is generously offering a $25.00 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner, who will also get an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

I chose to pick Sparkle, Pink and Twine for my card.

My card uses old images and dies from years ago when I first started card making.

It features a very old stamp set from Papermania – Lucy Cromwell – Teacups Stamp Set. For the background I used an equally old die from Couture Creations -Lace Rectangle die.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set but finished with a bow tied with twine and a buttton!

Hello and welcome

I’m back with the first Challenge for 2026 over at Penny Black Saturday January Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional – Something New!

I chose an elegant little stamp I hadn’t used yet – PB – Graceful!

After simple watercolouring, the image was fussy cut.

The background is a very old Cuttlebug embossing folder. The raised sections were highlighted with Distress ink.

The sentiment is from PB – ‘Waddling By’ stamp set.

Today was my first day without my sling, so just a simple card today.

Time Out has a new challenge for you that opens today and runs through December 3. This time it is a Pick Two challenge!  The idea of this challenge is very simple: we give you 6 word prompts and you pick at least 2 for your project!  To be clear you can pick more than 2 but just make sure to pick at least 2!

The words for Challenge #302 are:

Emboss, Movie, Nature, Corner, White, Sparkle

Some words may have a double meaning; for example ‘Movie’ could mean a cinema theme or a specific move title or theme!  In your post, please mention which words you have chosen and how they inspired you.Challenge #302

I’m back with a reminder for the Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday November Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional – Music!)

Once again, I chose a cute image.

The cute little hedgie is from PB – Sweet Wishes stamp set inside the PB – Posted stamp. It’s the first time I’ve used this frame or the little hedgie from the set! After Distress ink watercolouring, I fussy cut the postage frame out.

The sentiment is from PB – Nice One stamp set.

It was then time to finish after adding to a kraft card front, by stamping the postage add ons.

I was thrilled to have my card selected in AAA Birthday Game #78- Ombre October, Top 4. Thanks so much!

Hello and welcome

I’m back with the Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday October Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional – Too Cute to Spook!

I chose the cute option as you probably guessed.

The litle chef mouse is from PB – Birthday Critters stamp set. It’s the first time I’ve used these cuties! After Distress ink watercolouring, I fussy cut him out.

After ombre ink blending a panel, it was added to the card front and sprayed with PerfectPearls spray for a little shine and textured look. The sentiment is from PB – It’s Your Day stamp set.

It was then time to add the mouse to finish this sweet CAS card.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge – September 2025

Hello and welcome

I’m back with a reminder for the September Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge!  The theme  is  Anything Goes (Optional– ‘Spots and/or Stripes’)

I have dedided to use PB – Lovely Lilacs stamp I have never used before.

Using Distress inks to ink directly onto the stamp and after a light spray of water in is stamped on a piece of watercolour card. From here, I kept adding more colour and colour washes to build up a to a level I was happy with it.

Once dry, I then added some light colour behind to the flowers as well as some splatters.

To finish I added a little white ink, glitter pen and a dash of yellow for centres.

The sentiment is from PB – Heartfelt stamps.

To finish I added the panel to the card front along with some white spot washi tape.

My card features this fun image from PB- Party Friends stamp set, Distress ink watercoloured. I added 3 balloons from Newton’s Nook – Delightful Doxies stamp set.

It was then added to the card front along with a narrow black strip and some bright happy spotty DP.

As You Like It – Favourite: Layered or Flat (& why)? ( I don’t often add layers in the true sense of the ideas although I like to add add other elements such as a strips of DP and card to add impact rather than dimension. Thus keeping is a a one layer card to a degree. )

I decided to go with Encouragement this challenge.

My card features a stamp I haven’t used for ages and fell in love with when I first saw it.  This beautiful ballerina comes from the Gabi’s Haute Couture Stamp Set from 49 and Market.  I thought she was so delicate and captured the essence of dancers. The image was coloured using Distress inks and

This challenge I brought at some old stamps I haven’t used for ages.

I started by stamping 2 of the images from Art Impressions – Lighthouse Circlelet set on the middle of the MFT Pierced Circle Die and then Distresss ink watercoloured them.

They were then added back into the circle frame.

Newton’s Nook – Sips & Stories image is the stamped, coloured and fussy cut.

The scene is then added to a craft card front.

The sentiment is from Penny Black.
