Trump Calls for Peace, But the "Conservative" Thought Leaders Call For War -- On Actual Conservatives

Ace of Spades goes off on Republicans like Romney, Erickson, Lowry, Kerr, McCarthy, and all the rest of the grifters who made a good living pretending they were on your side.

Meanwhile, other Donor-Class Darlings are attacking Trump for not offering a full-throated-enough condemnation of Mostly Peaceful Protests.

Quick question, though: You know the candidate you in fact supported, but were too cowardly to forthrightly admit you supported? You know, the "moderate" Joe Biden?

Can you tell me when he condemned the violent anarchists of antifa?

Oh he refused to, right? He was demanded by Trump to denounce antifa, and refused, and said antifa was "just an idea" and therefore should not/could not be denounced?

And of course you took him to task for that, right?

Oh you didn't?

You know, for years, those of us on the Real Right have had one fundamental, dealbreaker demand: We shall not have two sets of rules, one for the left and one -- a much more punishing and vindictive one -- for the right.

And throughout all these years, the grifter pseudoright has backed up their leftwing allies' in their insistence that no, the left should have a more lenient and permissive set of rules, and should be permitted the occasional year-long spasm of psychopathic violence.

We should defer to the Moral Authority of the psychopathic left.

So yeah, the pseudoright agrees with the left on the minor issue of whether conservatives actually are full citizens in the US -- they agree with the left that we're second-class citizens as best. We're a kind of unconvicted-criminal class who are born into a lesser caste marked by limitations and special obligations.

But you know, they agree with us on the really fundamental "conservative" issues like whether their donor Google should be protected forever from an antitrust/monopoly practices lawsuit. And other big issues like whether or not their corporate donors should get another big tax break.

So, at least we have agreement on that.

So we're all one big happy Party, right?

We're one United States of America, huh?

Mittens, the Deep State, and the Ongoing Coup Against POTUS

Fascinating; a must-read!

Donald J. Trump is not a RINO or DC insider. He’s a tough-guy billionaire from Queens, New York and a street-fighter. When the Democrats realised last week that Trump was actually heading up his own investigation rather than leaving it to their Deep State apparatchiks—and doing so directly with the leaders of Ukraine, Australia, and Italy (and perhaps the U.K.)—they did the political equivalent of starting a fire in a theatre. House of Representatives Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, announced impeachment proceedings against the president just three hours after stating in a speech that she would not. Speaker Pelosi had zero evidence, cause, stated reason and lacked the required vote of the House of Representatives to do so, but announced it anyway.

Strangely enough…and what caught my attention… Mitt Romney jumped on the “Impeach Trump” train that same day. How did Nancy go from “There will be no impeachment proceedings,” that morning in New York to announcing impeachment proceedings that afternoon when she got back to Washington, DC? Meet the Grand Master of the Deep State in America. Admitted Communist, John Brennan, who has some serious explaining to do now that his attempted coup of U.S. President Donald Trump has been exposed…and continues! So why did Romney want to shut down any investigation of Ukraine’s role as well? That’s the question that got this investigation started and it’s shocking.

Romney’s National Security Advisor, Joseph Cofer Black, sits on the Board of the same Burisma Holdings that was being investigated for corruption back in 2014, and the Vice President and Obama Administration demanded be shut down. Why? Because Burisma was/is their vehicle for corrupt practices in Eastern Europe. And CIA Director, John Brennan’s 9/11 Deep State partner, Cofer Black, is still the link to all that goes on there. In fact, I can state unequivocally that Burisma is the centre of Ukraine corruption and the Democrats’ shadow organisation for corrupt activities.

On Mitt Romney

This man is not fond of Mitt Romney.

The man who twice ran for president and lost, first to Obama which was embarrassing enough but four years earlier in a primary to the guy who originally lost to Obama (as I look back, I think McStains and Romney took a dive), takes to the pages of one of the premier house organs of the anti-American Democrat-Socialist project to attack President Trump's character. Are you fucking kidding me?! This Reed Richards-looking stooge stood silent as his wife, family and church got slimed on a daily basis and he has the unmitigated temerity to rail against our president?

The Romney/Establishment Attack on Trump Is All About Open Borders, and Always Has Been

Ace of Spades:

Dave Reaboi makes different points than I have in mind, but he makes the basic point: all this shrieking about "character" by the neocons, liberal Republicans, and Establishment types is just some ideological camouflage to disguise the real objection to Trump, that is, that it's racist to oppose Open Borders.

They don't want to say that -- they believe it intensely, but they don't want to admit they share yet another key ideological premise with their close cousins on the globalist hard left -- so they pretend this is all about a rather small difference in free trade and the tactics to achieve actual free trade and, of course, about "character."

It's not. It's just that these people have such low character -- they are inveterate liars and are long practiced in misrepresenting their beliefs and their intentions to the voters they con into voting them into power -- that they lie without a thought about it.

They will go on lying about it. Bill Kristol, Mitt Romney, Jonah Goldberg, almost all of National Review, etc., will continue playing hide-the-ball regarding their real views on immigration -- which are open borders in all but name, just keep doing what we're doing, which is virtually nothing (which is why the open borders people endorse our current #FakeNews immigration enforcement) -- acting as perfect cowards in refusing to clearly announce their actual beliefs and preferences and pretending this is all merely a dispute about "character."

Well it is -- in a way. They believe that anyone who opposes their de facto open borders position is a racist and therefore has bad "character."

They just won't say so. They've grown accustomed to lying to their readers, constituents, and voters about just how monstrously racist and evil they believe them to be. They only gain the courage to state these beliefs forthrightly when, like Max Boot, they officially defect to the liberal Democrat camp.

That fascist Mitt Romney

Kevin Williamson does a pubic service by giving  us a reminder of how the press described Mitt Romney.

The problem with the man currently leading the Republican party is that he is, as the Washington Post puts it, a hostage to the “fanatical policies of the extreme right.” His administration “insults women” and his unwelcome presence in public life “insults us all.” And, because the Republican party is all about the winning these days, the GOP establishment is “ready to forgive” . . . what? . . . “just about anything — as long as he wins.”

So says the Post, which is not alone in this estimate: Extreme on economic issues, extreme on the so-called social issues, he even has had an “extreme foreign-policy makeover,” according to The Atlantic. His views on immigration, MSNBC says, represent the Republican party “shrinking down to its most extreme elements.” One cable-news panelist insists he was the most extreme Republican presidential candidate ever. Paul Krugman laments that he has forsaken all serious policy thinking for “dangerous fantasy.” Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times is also alert to the “dangers” he presents, the “most dangerous of all” being his views on Iran, though Kristof also worries that he is too buddy-buddy with that awful, scheming Benjamin Netanyahu. Predictably, Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow dogpiled him for his perplexing relationship with Moscow. Vice calls him a “sociopath” and Maureen Dowd dismissed him as “an out-of-touch plutocrat” who keeps “his true nature . . . buried where we can’t see it,” a devious figure who is so awful deep down inside that he “must hide an essential part of who he is” from the public.

that's when he springs the surprise and lets us in on the joke that his is how the press referred to Mitt Romney

Here’s What Would Be Happening if President Romney Had Bombed a Hospital in Afghanistan

The news out of the Perpetual War on Terror is pretty grim these days. The US military knowingly but “accidentally” bombed a hospital in Afghanistan, killing 22 doctors and patients. Just days later, the president decided not to draw down troops in the country as previously planned, but will instead keep nearly 6,000 of our sons and daughters in the country until at least 2017 when his term ends. At the same time, the inner workings of the president’s drone war, including questionable intel, lax target timeframes, and horrifying collateral damage ratios, have been brought to light by a whistleblower.

But you’d be forgiven for not noticing any of this. While it has been reported in the news media, there has been almost no secondary public reaction. I think that’s entirely because of one factor: Barack Obama won the last election, not Mitt Romney. If Romney had been elected in 2012 and in the year before his reelection campaign had bombed a hospital, decided to keep troops in Afghanistan, and had details of his robot assassin program leaked, things would probably look a little different today.

If Romney were president right now, the White House would be surrounded by protesters and candlelight peace vigils night and day. Some would wave American flags, some would wave signs calling for impeachment, some would have pictures caricaturing the president as Hitler or an animal. They would chant “Not in our name!”, or “Bring them home!”, or “Hey ho, hey ho, Romney has got to go!”

If Romney were president, nightly news reports on CBS, NBC, and ABC would have regular features on war crimes, quagmires, and collateral damage. CNN would be wall-to-wall with team coverage of protests, interviews of bombing witnesses, and Anderson Cooper walking through rubble in full body armor.

If Romney were president, every political analyst left of Judge Napolitano would be fretting over the war-weary public turning the upcoming election into a referendum against the president and his party. Vox and FiveThirtyEight would have maps showing how many Senate seats Republicans would lose because of the president’s sure-to-plummet approval rating. And then there’s MSNBC.

If Romney were president, MSNBC would be holding mock war crimes tribunals on Chris Hayes, explaining the ins and outs of the process with expert guests. Lena Dunham would be on Maddow every night aghast (but still giggling!) at this warmonger-in-chief. Chris Matthews would be yelling at Michael Moore, trying to find out when charges would be filed at the Hague.

If Romney were president, Democrats in Congress would be calling for hearings and investigations for each transgression: the bombing, troop levels, and drone policy. Chuck Schumer would hold daily press briefings scolding the wreckless president from behind the glasses perched precariously down his nose. Someone would accurately quote Sheila Jackson-Lee condeming the terrible bombing of the “orphanage in Pakistan”.

But Mitt Romney isn’t president, Barack Obama is, so no one cares. When the One, the Nobel Peace Prize Winner, the Lightbringer, the Calmer of Seas, the History-maker, the Healer of Wounds, He Who Will Make Us Respected Again bombs a hospital, extends a war he said he already ended (Promise Fulfilled!™), and uses flying death robots to kill [REDACTED]s of bystanders and labels them “enemies” anyway, we assume it’s a bug, not a feature, and we excuse it. Shame on us.

Paul and the CPAC Straw Poll

The CPAC straw poll is a poor prognosticator of who will win the Presidency. In fact it’s even a poor prognosticator of who will become the Republican candidate. Since 1976 it has only chosen two Presidents (Reagan and Bush) and three candidates (Reagan, Bush and Romney).

Per Wikipedia:
Year Straw Poll Winner
1976 Ronald Reagan
1980 Ronald Reagan
1984 Ronald Reagan
1986 Jack Kemp
1987 Jack Kemp
1993 Jack Kemp
1995 Phil Gramm
1998 Steve Forbes
1999 Gary Bauer
2000 George W. Bush
2005 Rudy Giuliani
2006 George Allen
2007 Mitt Romney
2008 Mitt Romney
2009 Mitt Romney
2010 Ron Paul
2011 Ron Paul
2012 Mitt Romney
2013 Rand Paul
2014 Rand Paul

Are straw polls meaningless? Well, yes and no. Straw polls are small samples and can be rigged by loading the sample with your followers. Ron and Rand Paul, father and son, are known for this. It also may explain Romney winning the straw poll four times, standing accused of running an “intensive ground operation at CPAC, flooding the convention with college-aged campaign workers — paying many of their registration fees and even busing some of them in and paying for their hotel rooms, according to a report in The New York Times.”

But the convention itself is an opportunity for the people who want to run to show their stuff, to make their arguments and demonstrate their style. It is also an opportunity to activate the base, to recruit volunteers and to gain publicity.

It is a serious mistake on the part of Republicans, whoever the candidate is, to appeal to the base to get the nomination and then to veer sharply to the Left in a vain attempt to try to capture the middle. The “middle” are often no more than apathetic Democrats. Reagan never deviated from his Conservative message and won two overwhelming electoral victories. Yet Republican political “professionals” always, always try to pull their candidates away from their base, to blur their message, and to pander to a media that lives to eviscerate them.

Were I to run for public office, I would ignore my Democrat opponent and run against the media. The media are more hated than lawyers or used car salesmen. You can get better applause lines by exposing the lies, the bias and the arrogance of the media. Of course the media will be promoting your opponent.  So the beauty of this strategy is that you never have to denigrate your opponent or call into question those who may be inclined to vote for him. Instead, you’ll get people agreeing with you and deciding to vote for you because you think like they do. And the beauty of this strategy is that it will not only win elections but leave the corpse of the media on the election room floor.

Romney knocks CNN’s Crowley over debate flap

Mitt Romney said Monday that CNN's Candy Crowley overstepped her bounds by playing fact-checker during a debate between Romney and President Obama in 2012.

Appearing on Hugh Hewitt's radio show, Romney said Crowley shouldn't have interjected to confirm President Obama's claim about the evolution of the administration's talking points about the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.

"Well, I don’t think it’s the role of the moderator in a debate to insert themselves into the debate and to declare a winner or a loser on a particular point," Romney said. "And I must admit that, at that stage, I was getting a little upset at Candy, because in a prior setting where I was to have had the last word, she decided that Barack Obama was to get the last word despite the rules that we had."

It's a little late Mitt.

The Youth Vote

Bud Norman analyzes the Harvard poll on youth's opinion on Obama and makes some good points. First, Obama has not turned the "Yoots" into conservatives, he's just disappointed them by his lies about free health care via ObamaCare.

The Harvard poll indicates that the young folks’ disillusionment with Obama has not resulted in a newfound affection for the Republicans, and we suspect that rather than becoming conservatives they’re still nurturing class resentments and hoping for the unlimited health care at some rich guy’s expense, but the numbers are bad news for the Democrats nonetheless. If the young voters stay home in next year’s mid-term elections the Democrats will miss them bad, and there might even be a few former Obama supporters showing up to vote for a Republican. Looking further into the electoral future, the Democrats’ dream of a life-long lock on those voters now seems somewhat far-fetched.

One theory for Romney's loss in the 2012 election is that Romney could not energize the Republican base enough to get them to turn out in the required numbers. That may be true. Romney is a good man and, had he been elected, would have known how to create a government policy that encourages economic growth and create new jobs. But he also belonged to the "moderate" wing of the Republican party and failed to inspire the enthusiasm that was required to get the most conservative wing of the party out. Whether this is true will never be known; elections can't be re-run, but electoral turn-out is the major driver of electoral victory and Obama may have turned enough youth off to his schemes that the next Democrat will have trouble getting them ginned up.

Census ‘faked’ 2012 election jobs report

 President Asterisk.
In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply — raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington.

The decline — from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September — might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated.

And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it.

Just two years before the presidential election, the Census Bureau had caught an employee fabricating data that went into the unemployment report, which is one of the most closely watched measures of the economy.

And a knowledgeable source says the deception went beyond that one employee — that it escalated at the time President Obama was seeking reelection in 2012 and continues today.

“He’s not the only one,” said the source, who asked to remain anonymous for now but is willing to talk with the Labor Department and Congress if asked.

The Census employee caught faking the results is Julius Buckmon, according to confidential Census documents obtained by The Post. Buckmon told me in an interview this past weekend that he was told to make up information by higher-ups at Census.
Let's see, the IRS harasses Obama's opponents, Candy Crowley gets in the ring and slams Romney during the debates and now we learn that the employment numbers were faked.

Their credibility is shot.  See Chrissy ("thrill up his leg") Matthews challenge Jack Welch on this very topic.

UPDATE:  Ace of Spades explains:

...

Obama moved the Census Bureau into the White House chain of command, under Rahm Emmanuel, just three weeks into his first term.

It was apparently very high on his priority list.

Let's review: the labor Department gets its data from the Census Bureau which the Obama Administration put under its direct control, unlike previous Presidents who may have wanted to manipulate employment statistics, but could not (view the Welch/Matthews video where Matthews says that Nixon could not do what Obama was able to do).

UPDATE 2:  Zero Hedge

On Friday October 5, 2012, the BLS released what was arguably the most important report of Obama's first term: the final jobs number, and unemployment rate before the November 2012 presidential election. As so many predicted, it "plunged" from 8.1% to 7.8% allowing the president to conduct countless teleprompted speeches praising the success of his economic recovery. It also served as the basis for the infamous Jack Welch tweet: "Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can't debate so change numbers" and prompted the pro-Obama media to quickly brand all those who questioned it as conspiracy theorists. The Atlantic did perhaps the most exemplary job in its task to discredit the "random anonymous cranks" who challenged the bullshit spewed by the administration's manipulative economic data reporting apparatus. FLASHBACK: Biden accused Romney of wanting war with Syria

Biden accused Romney of wanting a war with Syria.  He also accused him of not wanting to pull all of our troops out of Iraq.  With no more American troops Iraq is rapidly becoming a client state of Iran.

How's that working out for ya?

The Left's Dominos

Among the top reasons for enforcing Obama's ... uhh ... the world's red line against Syria are the horrible chain of events that will follow if we don't.  If we don't bomb Syria, so the theory goes, then Assad will win.  Then Assad's ally, Iran, will have won, giving them a green light to build a nuclear bomb, using it to strike Israel.  Russia will have a new foothold in the Middle East and before you can say "let me be clear"  we're back to the Cold War with the US and Russia facing each other without a misspelled "Reset" button to push.  And this chain of events assumes that Assad is the one who actually used nerve gas, a claim that is losing credibility even as Team Obama raises the stakes.

Does this begin to sound vaguely familiar?  Because to me it suddenly brought a flashback to the old domino theory that the Liberals ridiculed when it was one of the key reasons for intervention in Viet Nam.

I sure wish Obama had been elected instead of that warmonger Romney who was accused by Joe Biden of wanting to attack Syria.  Then we wouldn't be in this mess.

Old 'cheap' Republicans 'raped' America: Video captures award-winning professor's anti-Republican rant

A professor at Michigan State University (MSU) opened the first day of his creative writing class on Thursday by bashing Mitt and Ann Romney and ranting against “old Republicans” who he says “raped” the country, according to a student who made a secret recording of the class.

The eight-minute secretly recorded video also reveals Prof. William S. Penn bullying a student who apparently disagreed with his Democratic politics and arguing that Republicans want to prevent "black people" from voting.

Hat tip to Stacy McCain
This only became news because Professor Penn’s psychological brutality was so clumsy and was caught on video. And most students never even notice the indoctrination in college because they have already been indoctrinated through 13 years of public schools.

William Jacobson calls it Kafkatrapping
In White-liberal white-baiting link-baiting gone wild you mentioned this:

Make an outlandish statement about White people.

Watch White people react in denial.

Use denial reaction as proof you were right all along.

There’s a word for this logical Fallacy. It’s called Kafkatrapping.

In short it takes the form of using denial of guilt as proof of guilt. Here’s the blog that explains it very well.

I think the term should be used more widely.

The Truth Is Finally Out: Al-Sisi Is Jewish!

Via Glenn Reynolds.

Here's a link to the proof!

Is there no end to this?  Are these people actually sane?  Then I have to remind myself how the American media made Mitt Romney our to be a homophobe bigot for a prank in school, guilty of animal cruelty for putting his dog in a car carrier, guilty of murder for killing man's wife with cancer.  And I realize it's not just the nutcases in Egypt, it's the nutcases in the U.S.

Pro-marriage group thinks IRS employee leaked Mitt Romney’s donor info to Human Rights Campaign

This happens to be a crime.

It is likely that someone at the Internal Revenue Service illegally leaked confidential donor information showing a contribution from Mitt Romney’s political action committee to the National Organization for Marriage, says the group.

In a letter exclusively obtained by The Daily Caller, the organization has asked the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration to “investigate and learn the source of the breach and prosecute those responsible to the fullest extent of the law.” It also provided evidence suggesting the leak might have been the result of “IRS employee misconduct.”

The dispute stems from a March 30 post on the pro-gay Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) website, which boasted that it had obtained documents revealing that Mitt Romney “donated $10,000 to the National Organization for Marriage [NOM] in 2008 …”

Tax-exempt organizations like NOM are required file Form 990 with the IRS annually, which includes a schedule of donors who contribute at least $5,000 during a reporting period. This information is filed solely with the IRS, and the Internal Revenue Code requires the agency to keep the information confidential.
"Sorry" is no longer sufficient.  This is a pattern of criminal activity and reaches the White House.  Indictments, trials and jail time are now required.

Romney Ad that never aired.

Kind of prophetic, no?
