The second American Revolution

The first American Revolution occurred before 1776.  In the Hillsdale College historical course “Land of Hope” the historian Dr. Wilfred McClay clearly and vividly explains that the real American revolution occurred first in the minds of the American colonists.  This occurred years before the first shots were fired.  The Patriots were persuaded that they had a right to rule themselves rather than being ruled by Imperial England.

Thomas Paine’s widely read pamphlet “Common Sense” reflected these beliefs.  The Declaration of Independence put them into a formal resolution.  And the “Shot Heard Round the World” began the bloody test of whether the revolution would live.

We are now amid a second revolution.  Like the first one, it began in the mind.  But unlike the first revolution it is a top-down rather than a bottom-up movement.  It is led by an entitled class whose goal is to rule those who view the rest of us as cattle, to be herded.  And if we resist to be beaten and cowed into submission.  This is not a revolution for the people, but a counter-revolution of the privileged.

The first revolution had two factions: the Patriots who wished to form a new Republic and the Tories who wished to be ruled by Imperial England.  The current revolution also has two factions.  This time the Patriots wish to keep the Republic and the Socialist who wish to re-establish a Continental Empire ruled by from the Imperial City: Washington DC.

The first steps have already been taken.  The Socialist control the means of communication.  They hold the Presidency and the bureaucratic levers of power, the police powers of the central state and are purging the military of those who disagree.  They hold the tools of coercion much as the British held those powers until the shooting began.  Their political power bases are densely populated urban centers and communities dominated by academic institutions.  The Patriots are widely dispersed throughout the rest of the country and lack a unified center.

But like the original revolution the issue is still in doubt.  As many Patriots surely did before the bloody battles of the of the Revolutionary war began, we pray that bloodshed can be avoided.  But world history is the story of violent conflict interspersed with brief periods of peace.   Let us pray that the Patriots are again victorious.

The Rebranding of Socialism as 'Democratic Socialism'

As we approach this year’s elections, the purveyors of socialism have tried to rebrand their product by calling it “democratic socialism.” The sales force and marketing department of democratic socialism, the Democratic Party, and the mainstream media, are plying a new fairy tale that democratic socialism is nothing like socialism. No siree, nothing like it, they sing in chorus. The chorus, however, is badly out of tune. Democratic socialism is not the wonderland of inclusiveness, social justice, equality, and happiness it is advertised to be. It will not end human exploitation and it will not save the planet. It is still socialism, just with a new name. Socialism has never worked for any nation and it will not work in this country, even with a new name.

Sarah Hoyt: "The Best People"

The right, in the US, largely doesn’t believe in “Smart People.” We know they exist. We just repose no trust in them. The fact that the media has for decades been depicting as “Smart” people whose conclusions and ideas we were forced (from some life event usually) after examination to consider simplistic and borderline inane, doesn’t help us believe in “smart people.”

So in the end we’re stuck screaming across the divide “We would love perfect and free health care; yes, we think some people would greatly benefit from not having to worry about the daily bread, so they could create great things; yes, we’re all for improving the lot of the homeless and the addicted; yep, sure, some people are rolling in undeserved and misappropriated wealth.

It’s just that we think when we let anyone, smart or dumb try to fix that stuff, what we get is systems where bureaucrats prevent parents from saving their child’s life; universal income that disincentivizes 90% of recipients from trying to work and reduces them to the level of pets or prisoners of their vices; turns major cities into open sewers that are not safe to walk in, lest you be attacked by a feral human; strips all incentive from the hardest working, most productive people in a society and leaves everyone in equal poverty.”

Babylon Bee: "Democratic Socialist Convention Forced To Communicate Via Interpretive Dance To Avoid Offending Any Attendees"

ATLANTA, GA—The 2019 National Convention of the Democratic Socialists of America got off to a good start, with presenters, speakers, and DSA leaders giving inspiring speeches and policy papers while being really, really careful not to use any gendered language.

But the complaints began to roll in from attendees anyway.

Eventually, one attendee, who identifies as an owlbear, stood up and bellowed into a microphone, "POINT OF PERSONAL PRIVILEGE: LANGUAGE ITSELF REPRESENTS SPECIES SUPREMACY AND IS VERY TRIGGERING TO ME," threatening the entire convention. After a brief pantomimed discussion, conference organizers came up with a solution: they would just use interpretative dance.

Conference speakers then gave speeches calling for the death of capitalism and the seizure of the means of production entirely by coordinated dance numbers. One particularly powerful dance entitled "The Blood Flows from the Animal Farm and It Is Delicious" had dancers reenact the Bolshevik Revolution. It would have garnered a standing ovation, but standing is considered ableism, so it only got jazz hands. Then a man without hands performed a scathing solo dance routine to inform everyone that jazz hands were very triggering to him. Everyone tried to apologize with sign language but only made things worse.

Finally, the convention was brought to a standstill when a white girl said dancing in rhythm with a song was offensive to her culture.

Clearing the fog

That is more or less where we are, as a society.

The left has had control of education, of means of communication, of intellectual ideiation and narrative for a century. Full control, I mean. Before that they had partial control and toe holds. Also before that they were not as full on communist. All the things we “know” and were taught aren’t necessarily so.

And make no mistake, while the current crop of fog machine leftists are almost transparently inept, this wasn’t always so. Much of your ideas of everything from industrialization to the position of women in society to… well, anything is informed by very smart, very gifted men and women who believed in lying for their cause, and that sufficient lies would bring about utopia.

You realize this when you realize how lies shade differently in other countries, how you get people in Europe who earnestly believe the only alternative to socialism is monarchy, or that people were starving to death in Sweden just before socialists took over.

The lies corrupt everything, including the West’s view of itself. And it’s a fog....

You might even think socialism is nothing to be scared of. After all the soviet union was communist not socialist. (Except that they never called themselves communist. And communist East Germany called itself Democrat. Let those who have ears hear.)

Your history, your literature, your news are covered in fog. It might be pleasant to imagine they’re something other than they are. Certainly if you believe in the power of the government to bring about utopia. But it doesn’t make it less dangerous. Because you can’t see the precipice clearly.

Brazil’s Top Election Court Catches Google Manipulating Search Results to Point to Negative Entries on Bolsonaro …Just Like They Do with Conservatives in America

If you thought that Google was manipulating search results for political purposes and they told you that you were crazy, they were gaslighting you.
The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSA), Brazil’s top election court, fined Fernando Haddad (President Jair Bolsonaro’s leftist opponent) for having a contract with Google to manipulate search results during the election.

Luiz Edson Fachin, of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), ruled that the PT candidate for the presidency, Fernando Haddad, paid Google to highlight negative content and manipulated searches to point to a website with negative coverage of Bolsonaro.

Google wasn’t fined because they claimed that as soon as they were notified by the court of the irregularities they dishonored the contract.

This is a common practice by Google in the United States.

Google manipulates search results for conservatives and conservative publishers to point to negative articles and hit pieces.

So does Google allow people or companies to pay them in order to manipulate search results or only if they are far left/socialist/communist websites?

Google claims their search results are driven by some sacred algorithm. Then how is it possible that they offered such a service to Socialists?

In the U.S. Google does it for free.

We Fight Now or the Socialists Win

The Democratic Party is no longer a political party; it has become a religion. Its acolytes practice politics with every bit of the religious fervor of Islamic militants throwing a gay man off the roof of a ten-story building because Sharia tells them it’s what he deserves. Make no mistake, every day, our new socialists fight for the right to do the same to us.

THIS IS A FIGHT TO THE FINISH.

Wallowing in stupidity

Now that we now that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her friends are running the Democratic Party, or wielding a veto power over the party leaders, attention must be paid. Attention comes at a cost, for her musings present an extended case study in stupidity.

The next election will help clarify how far gone this country is.

Where Did Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Get Her Sweet Potatoes?

Jeffrey A. Tucker

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was trying to explain to me that the world is going to melt, we are all doing to die, and probably we shouldn’t be having any more children, but I was distracted by the dinner she was preparing on camera. She was carefully cutting sweet potatoes before putting them in the oven.

She put salt and pepper on them. Salt was once so rare that it was regarded as money. Ever try to go a day with zero salt? Nothing tastes right. That was the history of humanity for about 150,000 years. Then we figured out how to produce and distribute salt to every table in the world. Now we throw around salt like it is nothing, and even complain that everything is too salty. Nice problem.

Health Care — for the Healthy

Medicare for all will likewise become a 2020 rallying point. But aside from its multi-trillion-dollar costs, it would destroy the 55-year compact of Medicare and indeed the 85-year-old history of Social Security itself.

Namely, these programs were sold on a number of premises, but two especially. One: Younger and healthier Americans would subsidize the financial, career, and health challenges of an older generation that was no longer fully hale. Two (whether still valid or not): Americans from their preteen years “pay” into a system that keeps track of their chits, calibrated by both years and dollar amounts, to adjudicate their own eventual retirement benefits, the so-called grand bargain that one now pays for others so that still others to come will one day pay for him.

While the system is nearing insolvency, the tradition that Americans individually have already “paid” into their retirement benefits would be destroyed, once benefits were shared by millions who had not yet contributed much at all. The generational psychological bond would end, and the very logic of Social Security as a war between old and young would arise.

The elderly are not historically illiterate. They grasp that all universal “free” health-care scams eventually hinge on culling out the costly and bad investments, i.e., themselves. They know that “Medicare for all” translates into “Medicare for no one,” especially in an age of open borders. So they will not be paranoid to also assume that in an era of euthanasia and “managed” and “rationed” care, it makes more progressive social sense to “invest” in our youthful future than in “prolonging” already-spent lives — especially when we will be adding more ethnic and racial fuel to the generational inferno.

A society that approves of killing an infant shortly after it emerges from the birth canal might similarly have little compunction about pulling the plug on a 90-year-old who was deemed “unproductive” or suffering from “severe deformities” — albeit of course after a “conversation” with family and their “doctor.” To the Margaret Sanger mind, abortion and euthanasia are twins, and both are cost-effective means to free up dollars for more “moral” purposes.

Are they everywhere or are we paranoid?

Richard Fernandez @ Belmont Club

To hear tell there are now racists and Nazis everywhere. They lie in wait on freezing streets waiting to victimize people of color. They surround hapless native Americans in Washington with insulting smirks. They are depicted as driving around in trucks flying confederate flags chasing minority children. Racists are even able to masquerade as Democratic officials. Is there nothing they can't do?...

The year 2016 was a traumatic experience, shattering left wing sense of safety and dominance. Hillary's defeat -- and to a lesser extent Brexit and the rise of populism in Europe -- demonstrated the astonishing fragility of the mainstream liberal project and provided shocking proof that "the plague never dies". The boogeymen the progressives seek to exterminate can apparently resist any fumigation, indoctrination or persuasion leaving liberal activists like those characters in horror movies who shoot at Dracula without effect. This in turn led to renewed interest in outright socialism among Democrats. If Hillary and her billions proved useless against the MAGA werewolf perhaps Bernie Sanders and AOC have the silver bullet.

The alternative explanation is that there were serious defects in the liberal project and the pushback is due to those defects and not to some racist virus. That would explain 2016 too. Perhaps the most powerful contribution of the revolt against Bolivarianism in Venezuela is how it demonstrates that poor brown people can rise up against socialism without being members of the KKK. It's not always race but the economic system that makes the difference.

But this can hardly be persuasive to true believers for whom gender, race and sexual politics explain history. For them abortion, high taxes and a giant state are articles of faith and challenging them is evil. Words, arguments or symbolic proofs are largely useless against strongly held beliefs. Only experience can falsify -- and only temporarily -- cultic belief. In this respect Venezuela is also instructive. It changed. For decades Venezuela's poor held loyal to the belief that the socialists were on "their side". Now they are fighting Maduro....

Is the return of racists and Nazis the explanation for the current headlines? Or are people genuinely rising up against bloated incompetence? Time will tell. Reality always tells us which model is correct.

What a Socialist Really Wants

Skip all the bullshit and cut to the chase.
"I'm a socialist" means "From now on, I'll be in charge, fortunately. You can take a hike."

In the words of Sarah Hoyt:
"SUCCINCTLY? THEY WANT THE BOOT STOMPING ON THE HUMAN FACE TO BE THEIRS"

In socialism ... the most awful people on the planet strive to be your lord and master. Think Lenin. Think Marx, who often threatened his rivals with these words: "I will annihilate you." You have to ask, Who talks like that? Psychopaths are probably the main category, along with socialists and communists.

Babylon Bee: "Millennial Drops Support For Socialism After Learning How Hard It Is To Get Avocado Toast In Venezuela"

RIVERDALE, NY—31-year-old Darlene Austin has always been an avid supporter of socialism, but she recently had an eye-opening experience.

“At a vegan cafe, I met a guy from Venezuela,” Austin explained. “I asked him about how great it must be to live in a country working to end economic inequality, but then he went into a long diatribe about oppression, poverty, and murder.”

Austin admitted she didn’t listen to much of it since she always knew that socialism would have “a few bumps along the way.” But then the man said something that really concerned her: he asked what the crispy bread slathered with a green substance on her plate was.

“He didn’t even know what avocado toast was!” Austin exclaimed. She asked him about whether they had lots of avocados in Venezuela, but he explained it wasn’t just an issue of the availability of avocados but also not being able to get bread and sometimes not having electricity for a toaster.

“He said they never have avocado toast in Venezuela,” Austin stated, looking visibly shaken. “This made me completely rethink things. Socialism seemed like a great idea—a way to make sure everyone was taken care of even if they ran out of their parents’ money—but now I think it might not be ready for prime time.”

Austin said she was still glad Venezuela was trying it out, but wanted to wait until “they get all the kinks out of an equal distribution of avocados” before trying socialism in the United States.
