Introducing our new Moodle Podcast hosts, Dan Lehner and Shalimar Anderson

January 23, 2026 By Jeanne Loganbill

We’re giving the Moodle Podcast a little glow-up this year, starting with two fabulous new hosts: Dan Lehner and Shalimar Anderson.

If those names sound familiar, it might be because you’ve met them at one of our recent global events. As the official Moodle Emcees (or MCs, if you prefer), they regularly grace the stage from the beginning of the first day until the end of the final afternoon, introducing speakers, building a buzz and celebrating with the Moodle community. Let’s learn a bit more about them both.

Meet Dan Lehner

Our Chief Commercial Officer, Dan Lehner, has worked in the global education and technology space for more than 20 years. A keen strategist and a champion of lifelong learning, he leads a large, diverse team responsible for building and growing Moodle’s direct businesses and Certified Partner programme worldwide.

“I’m really looking forward to co-hosting the podcast. There’s so much happening across the learning landscape at the moment — new accessibility tools and skills-based learning frameworks, AI integrations, all sorts of things,” he says. “It’ll be interesting to explore those changes, and we’ll have some great guests on the show to help us do that.”

Dan lives in a leafy neighbourhood near the heart of London, England, with his wife and two sons. Outside work, he loves playing and coaching football, listening to live music and traveling the world with his family.

Meet Shalimar Anderson

Our Global Head of Service Delivery Operations, Shalimar Anderson, is a leader who loves untangling complex problems and shaping systems that genuinely work for people. A longtime member of the Moodle community, she brings a thoughtful, human lens — and a welcome sense of levity — to conversations about open education, learning systems and what it really takes to support people at scale.

“I love digging into the big, important questions in learning — but I also love keeping things real,” she says. “Whether we’re talking about open education, building better learner experiences or the future of learning platforms like Moodle, I want to hear from the people in the thick of it — the ones who really know what’s working and what’s not.”

Based on the East Coast of the United States, Shalimar is a passionate crafter, puzzle-solver and game enthusiast. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her knee-deep in a creative project or gathering friends and family around a game table.
