What a Difference!

It’s amazing what a difference fifteen hundred miles makes.

In Yemen, American drones are aggressively hunting down al Qaeda and blasting them to pieces.

Fifteen hundred miles north, in Syria, Our President, ably aided by that historical military genius, John ‘F*ck Your Buddies’ Kerry, is getting ready to blast the Assad regime, in essence providing air support to… get ready!!! al Qaeda-supported militias.

If the Assad regime wins in Syria, it’s bad. If the opposition in Syria wins, it’s much worse.

UPDATE

It does occur to me, however, that a cash-strapped military, struggling under obama cuts and a sequester-chopped budget AND a debt ceiling, is going to need money, and I can easily see Obama telling the nation that we need to raise the debt ceiling because we MUST have money for the military.

A few bombs in Syria are obama’s version of Bill Clinton’s Missiles for Monica ploy, a way to divert attention to foreign matters so nobody will have time to pay attention to domestic policies that are seriously off track.

  1. What a *luster *uck, I hope all the idiots who voted for this clown are happy with what they got!!

  2. Tom-

I can only imagine the stories about the elite of Washington riding out to Manassas to watch the spectacle of the Union Army lining up to show those uppity rebels. War, to dimmocrats, is a spectator sport.

  3. Desperate to detract from all the scandals. Helping out his muzzie buds is just coincidence, I’m sure…

As many have pointed out, there are no good guys in that mess. My guess is that if anyone used chem weapons, it was the “rebels”.

NOT a clear and present danger to us in any form. To 0gabe, anything to distract from the mass of scandals and lawlessness he and his cronies have going.

  4. Just knocked one more pin outa the chimp in chiefs plan.

Yesterday afternoon, Russia agreed to restructure Cyprus’ EUR 2.5 billion loan terms to a much more affordable 2.5% semi-annual coupon through 2016 and a principal re-payment over the following four years. While probably still out of reach for the desparate economy, it was a positive step. Of course, this ‘offer’ by Russia has its quid pro quo. This morning, Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides has stated that Cyprus territory will not be used to launch military strikes against Syria, as “Cyprus wants to live up to its responsibility as a shelter if needed for nationals of friendly countries who evacuate from Middle East”. It would appear Obama’s influence is fading everywhere…

Cyprus is located ~183 nautical miles west of Syria and is the EU member nearest to Syria.

  5. Here is another possiblity:

    Mother of All Squirrels:
Cuestiono la sincronización: A few months ago, Democrats (and Republican amnesty types) seemed to realize that they could make a lot of progress on their version of immigration reform if they didn’t talk about it. Loud, self-righteous campaigning only riled the Republican grass roots. Better to not give them a target, let them be distracted with scandals and other issues while pro-amnesty GOP money men quietly did their work.

That trick helped get a “Legalization First” bill through the Senate. Then the Senate bill’s backers shrewdly failed to introduce any amnesty legislation in the House before the August recess; avoiding provoking 2009-style Tea Party chaos.

But I’ve always wondered: How were they actually going to pass an amnesty bill in the GOP House without anyone noticing? Even if the MSM cooperates by playing down the issue? The debt ceiling/Obamacare fight isn’t enough to distract the base forever. We’re no longer shocked by the NSA and IRS tax exemption stories, everyone’s picked their side–another scandal isn’t going to do the job. You’d almost need a war or something. And that’s not about to happen.

    Oh wait…

    Just sayin’!

  6. If you have two groups that absolutely hate your guts and want you dead, and those two groups decide to fight each other, why should you care who wins? My solution is to provide encouragement to both sides to “kill that sorry-*ss M*****F***** that is trying to tell you what to do”. Then sit back and watch the fun…

  7. What are our “Interests” in the Middle East?

    As I see it.

Keep any of the local Turdistans from becoming a base for groups wishing to attack the US.

    Keep the oil flowing.

We have fought 3 wars in the last 25 years for these “interests”

  8. Does anyone besides me think (And kinda worry) that maybe, just maybe, Russia might have something to say if obumma launches any kind of air or missile strike? And does anyone else find it odd (And kind of scary) that the surrender monkey French are the only ones supporting our muslim-in-chiefs stance on Syria? For a pussy obumma sure is doing a lot of sabre rattling. And I guess that’s just fine with the liberal-socialists. obummer lied and people died.

  9. “Cyprus is located ~183 nautical miles west of Syria and is the EU member nearest to Syria.”

and home to several UK air bases, naval facilities, and a NATO missile test range…
