So you’re saying that Republicans are French? I never thought of it that way, but…
“In the event of a government shutdown, only ‘essential’ employees will continue to report to work…”. My question is why do we have unessential (that is, unnecessary, unneeded, etc) employees in the first place? If your job is not essential, you are a drone and should not be allowed to suckle at the public teat.
Those “essential” employees, John Boardman, are those required to protect Our Betters from Mere Citizens. Any who serve the interest of Mere Citizens are clearly NOT “essential”. At least from the point of view of Our Betters. And their “Law Enforcement” enablers, of course…
I believe it was Ronald Reagan who opined that stability is just a shorthand way of saying “the mess we’re in.”
