Seventy-five degrees outside this morning as I went to get the Sunday paper. We’ve had an afternoon thunderstorm every day for the past several days, and that extra ground water pumps the humidity up to almost saturation levels. Summer is winding down. The highs today may only make the lower 90’s.
So I’m looking at the paper and I find that only one of the local hospitals has birth announcements posted, thirty births between August 14 and 29. Of that thirty, sixteen are to un-married parents, and five fo the new mommies have various reasons for not listing a daddy’s name, such as “I don’t remember anything from that night, I was soooo blitzed” and “when you eat a whole can of beans, how cna you tell which one made you fart?”
I have a pretty small selection here, so I guess I’ll dispense with the try to categorize, and just run down the list.
Miss Cynthia O. presents her new son, little Aidyn Jiten. I guess I’m behind the times here, because I’ve never seen a “Jiten” before.
Alvin J. & Mona D. tag their baby girl with Aaliyah Elizabeth. Gots to LOVE them double “A’s”!
William & Janica T. pop their daughter with Kiera Vivian. It’s almost tame…
Todd & Angie R. celebrate their love of French painters by tagging their daughter with Monet Clairisse.
Ryan & Ashley N. name their daughter Fallon Anaise. Say it fast and it sounds like a playground accident: “What happened to her?” “She fallon anaise.”
Clinton & Brandy C. decided that their baby girl might benefit from an extra name, so they gave her three: Randi Reese Michelle. Nothing like a name ending in “i” for a little girl. She’ll be able to spend her life deciding whether to dot that “i” with a heart, a smiley face, a star, or a plain ol’ dot.
Michael S. & Brandi D. bring us their new daughter, little Karyssa Shyann. Two names, two sets of double letters.
Chris C. & Courtney T. decided that their baby boy needed a fancy name, and everyone knows that really fancy names have punctuation marks, so they give us De’Andre Markel.
Van H. & Jonnique C. have a new daughter and they named her Syrin Tenese. First time I saw either ONE of those names, so I guess they’ve succeeded.
Huey & Syretta C. celebrate their Middle Eastern roots by naming their new son Khali Amar.
And that’s a stopping point for this week.
