Not older than dirt, but when I got here, it was still on the pallet.
I’m the oldest guy in my division office. There’s one guy at one of my stations who is older than me, a whole year.
My health is still pretty good. It’d be better if I dropped fifty or sixty pounds, but I enjoy food a bit too much. I expect to last at least another ten years assuming I’m not a casualty in the opening battles of the Second Civil War.
I make good money in a job that’s as much a hobby and a social club as anything else.
I have friends.
I have Sweetie. Or she has me. Or something.
Life is good.
Stay at it until YOU are ready. I worked spending OPM to building power systems until they quit spending. Now I lay around waiting for interesting projects. Some actually show up. It is still fun (72)…
HB and don’t eat to much cake.

That’s sort of the plan. As long as it’s fun, I’m good with it. Figure at seventy I’ll apply for social security if it still exists, and keep going until I can’t go any more…

If you enjoy the work stay at it I worked till 70 and wish I had stayed longer. For 3 years after I retired they would still call for jobs i had worked on for information. I am 76 now and still drop by once in awhile to play cards at noon.
The “Oldest” –heh? I wuz always the youngun until about 20 years ago, then suddenly it flipped on me. Now a Grandfather 8 times and most of the time the “Oldest” I miss being the Boss and Leader on jobs , but I have gotten in some great fishing and flying !
Hope it was a good one!
Happy birthday! And here’s to many more healthy ones!
stay at it as long as ya can…. there has to be that one guy who is the font of all knowledge not in the books.
Happy Birthday! Ahead of you by a year and 3 days. Working my way through some after surgery PT but other than that retirement is nice. I know about those extra pounds but not much to do about it.

I was 68 in March, I retired two years ago for a variety of reasons, I had planned to stay until October last year. I’m glad I did retire, I’m still getting used to it and do once in awhile get bored. I’ve been able to do a lot more traveling and spend more time with family back east.
I developed arthritis in my knee, year ago it had really limited my mobility, last Winter I got better but I also knew I needed to get proactive. I went into a weight management program through my HMO, lost 50 pounds, need to lose more. I also began to walk almost each day tried for an hour a day. I’m now transitioning back to regular food which is where the real challenge will be, changing eating habits and not regaining the weight. We need to be much more careful in taking care of ourselves as we reach “Old Fartdom”, LOL!!!
Wish you a happy birthday and look forward to reading you blog for a lot more years yet to come.
Happy Birthday!!! yay! another one behind you. I just turned 60 Wed last week and still loving life! Sounds like you are too! Appreciate all you do.
You forgot to mention your cats.

I’m about two weeks older than you, being a “Juneteenth” baby myownself. I think I’m gonna pull the plug at the end of the year. Too many things I want to do, and not enough time to do them.
