Tomorrow

Time to get the right eye rebuilt – cataract surgery.

I’m not as apprehensive as I was two weeks ago when I got the left one done.

As of today, there’s an obvious and huge improvement in my left eye since the surgery. I’m looking forward to seeing where I end up with both of them done.

  1. My eyes have not focused together properly since I had my 2nd one done . I still sometimes have to drive with one eye .

  2. Had both of mine done a couple of months ago. Best decision I ever made. Dr Hanudel at the Eye Clinic did mine.

  3. Good luck & God Bless Cajun – had Lasik (not the same, but still scary) done in 1998. It is still rocking the house – I drive without correction after 50 years of being 20/800. I wish you the same good results.

  4. It’s amazing how far they have come with cataract surgery. Good luck!

Wished I had had the cash to have the astigmatism fix when they did the left eye. (insurance would only cover the cataracts) Then I would only need glasses to read.

  5. Headed that direction myself. Not enough that VA will do it (not that I’d let them), but civilian doc says borderline and we need to talk again in months. I cringe at having to put ANYTHING, including drops, in my eyes, so the surgery scares the bejeebers out of me. I appreciate hearing/reading the successful experiences of others. Not a yippee let’s do it sort of theng, but I have only one arm clinging to the tree instead of two.

  6. If it needed doing I would fight back the fear.
Apprehensive would be putting it mildly indeed.

  7. I had cataract surgery two years ago. I was extremely near sighted , so they installed corrective lenses that corrected my sight to almost 20-20. I have had zero -none- nil – no problem with the procedure, and am extremely pleased to have such good eyesight now. The one disadvantage is that I need to use glasses to read with now, but I have those Dollar Tree specs scattered around the house just about everywhere and carry a pair when I go out. A slight inconvenience, but considering the excellent eyesight I have now, no problem.

  8. I had no issues with either surgery. I was amazed at how much more vivid the colors appeared. Worst part? Couldn’t bend over to tee up the ball that first weekend after surgery…

  9. 70 years time since new, 0 time since overhaul. Gotta love modern medicine!

  10. I had my right one done last October. Like BobF I was scared beyond belief. A goof and I might not be able to fly again. But it went as the Doctor said it would and now I have almost 20-20 in that eye and am going to schedule the left one for this coming October.

  11. BobF, if a whiny five year-old crybaby candy ass like me says it’s no big deal, then it’s no big deal.

Best money I ever spent. I told the doc I wanted 20/20 or better in my right eye out to a meter and 20/20 or better from a meter on out in my left. He made it so, and I discovered there’s this thing on the front of my guns that makes it easier to hit stuff.

Plus, if that doesn’t sell you, consider this: it makes all the girls prettier.
