Thompson Family Reunion 2006

Matt and I just got back from a fun week with the Thompson Family. This was my first reunion with Matt's family and I had a wonderful time getting to know the family. We went to Seaside, Oregon and it was wonderful to go to a state that I haven't been to yet so it was a lot of fun. On the way up we saw so many waterfalls on the side of the road so we stopped to look at one.

We hiked to the very top

Before we met up with the family, we went to the Portland, Oregon Temple for a session. It's my dream to go through as many Temples as possible so when we travel, we make a big effort to visit the temple.

During our stay, we stayed at a beach house.

The place reminded me of my childhood because they haven't updated it since the 80's. They had dishes that I grew up with so I had to take pictures.

We had a fun going to the beach daily but it's nothing like the beaches in San Diego. It was always so cold so we never went swimming. We just went over to explore the waters and we had fun finding star fish

On the 4th of July we did get to go to a different beach that was better for swimming. A few of us actually went in the water. I tried but failed. After your body gets over the shock of the freezing cold water it gets used to it but only because you are so numb you can't feel anything. Matt was one of the people that stayed out there because he was having fun body surfing. Leanna (sister in-law) and Elaine (mother in-law) was out there with him. I finally got Matt to come back to shore because I was worried about it being so cold but we couldn't get Elaine and Leanna back because they were having so much fun. They ended up getting hypothermia. I don't think they will try that again in a hurry but they had smiles on their faces and had the time of their lives. I didn't get any pictures because I was too busy trying to get them warm.

When we first got on the beach I thought it looked familier because of these rocks out in the water.

I thought it was the beach that the movie, Goonies was filmed on. When we got home we looked it up and it was. I thought that was so cool because I love that movie.

We went to another beach that had a boat that was ship recked. After many years it came on the shore and there it stood for many more years.

There's not much of it left.

On the way home we weren't in a hurry so we stopped at another waterfall. Our parent's kept driving.

We still beat them home.

Beginnings

Matt and I were just married on February 18th. Words can’t explain the joy that we felt that day.

We want to thank all of our friends and family that could be with us, especially those that traveled.

It was a beautiful day even though it was freezing! However, the night ended in a big blizzard.

I gave in....

I have had a Myspace page for a while which has been fun posting pictures and keeping in touch with old friends from California and Florida but it's not convenient for friends and family who aren't myspacers. They won’t be able to see updates and pictures unless they have a Myspace account so I thought I'd join the Blogspot Club. So this is it! The beginning of the Thompson family.
