A couple of weeks ago, I posted something which included some of my father’s copper enamels. I mentioned that I wasn’t able to find a dish that we had. I was able to find it, finally. Here it is. Sadly, it has a little chip in it and it is a little bit scratched. But I love it. It’s supposed to be an ashtray, I think and we used it for that for decades.

I have 2 pieces of enameled copper by B.Hutch. We knew him personally in Ottawa. If you are his daughter and are further interested, please contact me.

B. Hutch created a large enamel piece called Man in Society which was hung on Wellington St. Any idea what happened to it? It is being discussed on Lost Ottawa.

I wish I knew. I was part of that discussion. Neither my brother or myself had heard of it. By then my father and mother were no longer together and I know she had never mentioned it. I found a couple of photos it (at least one posted on the Lost Ottawa page). I exect it probably ended up in a landfill somewhere or at the scrappers.
I wish I knew…
