Isgubhu, a Zulu word meaning “beat”, celebrates an evergreen and ever-growing set of dance and electronic genres and subgenres sweeping the African continent, from amapiano, gqom and Afro-house to kwaito, Shangaan electro and more. For the September 2026 Isgubhu playlist DJ mix, Apple Music called on Rosey Gold, a Europe-based, South African DJ who was heralded as one of Tomorrowland and One World Radio’s 20 artists to watch for 2026. For her Isgubhu mix, Gold selected cuts from Mpho Wav, Manoo Abstrakt, Enoo Napa and Tefo Foxx, to name but a few. “This mix was inspired by the sounds of the African diaspora,” Rosey Gold says. “With each track thoughtfully selected to celebrate the richness and diversity of our continent.
