The title track to Funkadelic's third album is the sound of the spirit leaving the body. As the album's tentpole—containing, courtesy Eddie Hazel, an impossibly epic guitar solo—it casts a long shadow, quickly illuminated by "Can You Get to That," a gospel-funk masterpiece that travels to heaven and back in less than three minutes. "Hit It and Quit It" confirms Hazel's rock-riff cred, and "Wars of Armageddon" is a gleeful bad trip through the end of the world, complete with hooting owls, crying babies and wailing klaxons.
