hymn and movies for the weekend
robin hood: the prince of thieves (the one with kevin costner, not the dude who assaulted iggy azalea)
is the best movie of all time.
and has the best original soundtrack song ever sang by bryan adams.
i remember during the time when i first watched this movie, the cave of golden roses was also played on tv2.
there are somethings in life worth dying and waiting for. the best is yet to come, may 2017 will bring goodness and all the nice things. dad said i will always be his favorite seventeen, everytime he wished me on my birthday.
----------------------------------------------------
and i am going back to nottingham, sherwood forest and london next week. i have two reviews to write on translational medicine - the title i had in mind would be 'the super-plan of human and mice' has to be better than the beatles. i wish i have an editor.... my dad. i wish i could write as nice as other scientists.

my life in playlists and soundcloud
playlist: oasis
breakfast: kimchi chigae and boh cameronian gold (i love home grown tea)
songs:
masterplan - the best of all things are coming our way. life on the other hand won't make you understand. we are part of masterplan.
let there be love - i was at cafe nero yesterday, in need of shots after long tiring day in the lab (new project on atherosclerosis) - the song was playing, reminded me of years ago when i was at hanyang on the worldwide project listening to beatles' new mashed up album.
who kicked the hole in the sky, so the heaven would cry on me..... come on baby blue, shake up your tired eyes the world is waiting for you, may your dreaming fill your empty sky.
strawberry fields forever: better than beatles - this is actually the term to describe the trend in drug industry where the yesteryears drugs are now becoming cheap and low cost generic, and even if there are new discoveries of new drugs, it will be more costly and take sometime to build reputation (lack of impact) for its effectiveness making hard for insurers to give reimbursement. it is like moore's law spelled backward - eroom's law.
it's like the new recordings for beatles, and the closest to the legend is oasis. close but not the same. there was a saying that jazz was the epitome for world peace after the war, and then beatles emerged and destroyed the sultry sweet sound with crazy pandemic phenomena where the other side of the world of rock n roll, elvis stole the sound of african american root and the hearts of millions young girls. if it wasn't the beatles who jeopardized world peace - there were queen - with under pressure. and oh. sex pistols - god save the queen.
nature - better than beatles problem. R&D efficiency
the problem on stagnation in innovation - i read in the time that the ultimate reason for the unsolved world's problems is we are running out of ideas. there are not much difference in the past century to the present, we are still driving cars running on roads, unlike in the back to the future, where we were supposed to have sky highways, using renewable fuel - however, to date
electric vehicles and self-driving are only exclusive for developed countries.
the age of inequality in income and technology.
do we really running out of ideas?
(at the moment, this is only me - i'm still drafting about what to write to my boss about things that i can/want to do with appropriate technology to improve healthcare and lives of people in developing countries) i attended pitching rehearsal for hult prize competition by the mit students. some of the ideas were brilliant, however the implementation of ideas into frugal technology (simple design with available resources to solve immediate problems) (due to lack of funding and resources in developing world). i'm a fond believer that world's problem could be solved with integrations of works, ideas and technology from developed world to the poor. it is the context that was portrayed in the movie 'elysium'.
the question is - can i build an mri machine from junks?
but ha yesterday i read that MIT led the research on the treatment for alzheimer using LED light with specific wavelength and excitation to destroy specific proteins that interfere with the brain function.
ok.. i need simple idea that works. oh please can i download ideas to my tiny brain.
------------------------------------------------
i'm yet to discover what the lab is actually doing with amazing ideas and things - i need to write an email with proposal and set up a meeting. oh my, brain child is like giving a labor. uh.. uhh

平井堅 (Ken Hirai) - 思いがかさなるその前に (Before the feelings overlap) LIVE
i love this song so much that i went to japan in 2006. (also because i read one piece)
secret teacher movement
dear daisy,
why architecture, why sofea??
painting and ice cream by daisies - sofea and dania
at planetarium for solar eclipse.
things i learn about love were mostly taught by cik opi.
thou, the killing joke is not appropriate for kids, i wish someday, you'll read neil gaiman and drown yourself into wonderful world of fantasy and imagination. even to the most controversial ideas about 'the end of the world' and looking for antiC as savior - or the crazy, funny ideas about american gods, i wish at least you will someday love stardust and its flying pirate. or doctor who's space pirate. perhaps someday, i will have the time to read you dr. seuss's horton hears a who - and talk to you about feynman's lecture about plenty room at the bottom - that there are universe in micro and tiniest scopic level. all you need to do is open your heart for boundless realm of imagination.
.
my bestfriend since 7 - huzaifah (azman) and lily the cheeky. (the offered me shrimp beryani that day, so i didnt mind when she took my marc jacob sunnies). he was one of my first friends in school, along with a.j, nic, uma, siva, cheesum, fauzi, aida, mazlia (and the rest of the class... i remember everyone's name because i was the class monitor. (the class monitor was always the naughtiest girl in school - enid blyton). his dad used to own a restaurant at jalan reko, which i always went there almost every saturday morning with my bicycle for roti canai, dhal and curry), azman and his family are among the nicest people i met, kind and loving. seven years ago, we came across an article about abandoned elders at hospital kajang who been rescued and supported by a charity. touched by the stories, he visited the place and together we set donation of supplies at every month, or two. he and his wife did all the shopping, planning and distributing - their generosity and kindness truly humbled me.
nic and uma too are always supporting shelter homes in our hometown in kajang. every year uma will celebrate her daughter's birthday there, despite lack of funding and income - as a phd. student.
last year, nic celebrated his daughter's birthday in the same way and pledge everyone to donate food and household items instead of bringing gifts.
i don't want to make criticism to others who choose to celebrate birthday lavishly and in style. but in time of austerity, it is very important to instill empathy and kindness to the younger ones, to foster love and care. i miss my childhood friends, who always there for me when i needed them the most.
i've been listening to oasis album all morning. it's mixed tape actually with hint of semi sonic, matchbox and goo goo dolls.
my niece sent me text - telling about her visit to zoo - and how her younger sister cried when she saw the bear. i thought bear is supposed to be cute. chubby. yeah huggies. lovable.

the high line - chelsea, NY
dear daisy,
on thanksgiving week, instead of going for shopping me and my housemate decided to drive to NY for fun. food. and stalking ex-bf (he..he..). i dragged her to chelsea for brunch at foragers table and walked all along the high line to whitney museum of american art (because i am a fan of architecture, renzo piano, zaha hadid and frank gehry) - i named this walk just as koolhass sealed it in his famous book, delirious NY).
i also spent the time reading nicholas kristoff and his student, karen who won internship and to travel with the senator to kansas and oklahoma to write about urban poverty in the states - to try to understand the great deal in the time of economic depression.
my mom called me yesterday asking if i blocked her from my social media because she did not see my pictures of NY except shoes, trees and buildings. ha-ha-ha. i did not block anyone except you-know-who, lucky that mom doesn't know my blog. (what am i again, 12??)
the real estate in chelsea is now soaring high with a studio priced to nearly a million dollar and an apartment of 2 bedroom could easily cost 1.5 - 2 million.
long road to ruin - foo fighters
A heavy cross you bear
A stubborn heart remains unchanged
No home, no life, no love
No stranger singing in your name
Maybe the season
The colors change in the valley skies
Dear God I've sealed my fate
Running through hell
Heaven can wait
A stubborn heart remains unchanged
No home, no life, no love
No stranger singing in your name
Maybe the season
The colors change in the valley skies
Dear God I've sealed my fate
Running through hell
Heaven can wait
katsura, heaven can wait.
in the world of blind, a girl with glasses is the king.
