Finally the Bananas!

Above is my first banana harvest! There were 2 bunches on single tree! It's really ridiculous right!

I decided to use a ladder to chop down the bunches. The tree is still standing high. I shall chop the tree in few weeks. The tender trunk shall be taken and cooked as Indian style.

The main bunch has bigger fruit.

The sub bunch has a lot of fruits in small size!

I tasted one yesterday out of curiosity . It's not fully ripe yet but has sweet taste!

There are a lot of bananas! We share them with neighbours and family!

I have to think of recipes to use all the bananas once they ripe..... Banana cake, Malaysian dessert cengkodok, puding, what else?

Papaya Harvest

Harvest time is the best moment of gardening! It make us feel so proud of our effort! We feel our hard work paid off! That's beauty of gardening.

Past 2 weeks I have been plucking papayas. 4 papayas are harvested last week and another 4 yesterday.

Unfortunately one tasted by the monkey! I was a bit late to pluck them. So the monkey had tasted first! It's ok....The papayas are in abundance so I don't mind a few bite from them on single fruit! That fruit will go to the dustbin. Another 3 shall be wrapped and ripen in the kitchen. In my garden, kitchen bench is the safest place to ripen fruits! hahahaha....

Few more left on the tree. I shall pluck once it shows the slightest sign of ripening!

The tree is getting very tall. Is this normal for a papaya plant?

Banana fruit

I feel it takes ages for Banana to mature. I'm waiting patiently for the fruits to mature.

The banana plant is tall. At a mean time, I'm thinking on how to bring down the fruit! May be ladder is good choice! I'm so ambitious I guess! hahaha...

If you have banana plant, how long it takes to ripe? How you bring down the matured fruit?
