Beach Please!

For my card today, I am using the Pajama Crafter Flash Cards – Beach Retreat to build a beach scene. I created an ocean and sand with Distress inks and a white gel pen. I am loving these flash cards, they really have so much potential!

After I finished my beach scene, I colored the smallest whale from the new Whale Wishes set with Warm Gray Copics. Then I held my breath and cut off the tail…I wanted it to look like the whale had breached the water and was on his way back down – did it work?

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to do some scene building!

Hugs,
Lyn

Whale Hello!

For my card today, I am doing a little more ink smooshing. This time I inked-up my long skinny acrylic block with several shades of blue Distress Oxides, misted it then “stamped” it onto some Strathmore watercolor paper. I think this technique is perfect for a cute “ocean” scene but what do you think?

For my main images I used the new Oh Whale Stamp Set from Pajama Crafter Stamps and for my sentiment I used the new Whale Wishes set. I colored my whales with Warm Gray Copics then added some dots for texture.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to do some acrylic block ink smooshing.

Hugs,

Lyn

Feeling Magical

Today Pajama Crafter Stamps is having an Instagram Hop. (Hop on over if you want to join the fun and get inspired!)

For my card, I used the new Oh Whale Stamp Set. I love that little Narwhal and wanted to unicorn it up a bit. I thought an ink smooshed background would be perfect for him. I colored him with Copics but then used colored pencils to add the color details.

I love this clean and simple card but what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

Bloom With Grace

This week Joy with Pajama Crafter Stamps started a coloring challenge. I had so much fun with my Copic markers just coloring a little each day on this image from the In Full Bloom Stamp Set. I decided since it was about the coloring, I would let the coloring carry the card without a lot of added bling. I love the simplicity and I loved coloring for the sake of coloring.

I hope you are inspired to spend some time coloring this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Fox in a Box

Today I have a clean and simple card using Magical Enchanted Day by Prickley Pear Stamps at Pajama Crafter Stamps. The minute I saw this stamp set, I knew I wanted to use that little fox poking around corners in a box.

I die cut 2 squares (one with x-press it card and one with black card) I stamped the fox on a few angles and colored them up with Copic markers. I decided I wanted to use 3 in a row so I made this into a mini slimline card. Super fun and simple. I love it!

I hope you were inspired. Sometimes the small images in a set can become a fun focal – it’s your turn to try.

Lyn

It is a technique Instagram Hop!!

Today Pajama Crafter Stamps is hosting their May Instagram hop. This month the team is sharing “techniques we love”. The hop starts on Instagram @pajamacrafterstamps. Come join in – there are prizes!!

My card today uses the Joseph’s Coat technique featuring the Butterflies 2 stamp set. This is a solid stamp which is perfect with this technique where you clear emboss on a colorful background then cover everything with a darker color. The embossing resists the over inking leaving colorful butterflies popping off the page.

Here are a couple of pictures to show the process….

First ink up your page – It doesn’t have to be neat or perfect just get color all over

AFTER the page is dry you can clear emboss your image. I let my page sit overnight but a heat tool works tool. Sprinkle embossing powder over the page before stamping your image to make sure it doesn’t stick (this is the indicator that your background ink is dry). I used VersaMark to stamp my image and WOW! Super Fine Clear to emboss.

Once you have embossed everything you want to emboss, start inking over everything in a darker color. I started out with Mermaid Lagoon and then moved to Prize Ribbon because it was darker. It often takes several layers to get it dark enough – you want as little as possible of the colorful background to show through the dark color.

Once you get it fully colored, buff the image to let the colors shine through the clear and decorate however you wish!

I hope you were inspired to try this technique if it is new to you or do it again if it’s not!

Enchanted Birthday

Today I have a card using the Magical Enchanted Day stamp set from Prickley Pear at Pajama Crafter Stamps.

I decided to go with a round card for fun. I stamped the wreath onto the round panel and colored it with Polychromos pencils – I think they gave it a little more whimsy. What do you think? I added my sentiment and a few enamel dots and this one is ready to be sent.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to try a different shaped card – they are super fun!

Valentine’s Card – It’s not too early right?

Today I have another project using the Date Night set from Pajama Crafter Stamps. Like last week’s Scrapbook kit and page, this week’s project is hoping to show you another way you can use this stamp set….

When I saw the popcorn & cola couple and the sentiment “We just go together”, I immediately thought it would be perfect for a kid’s Valentine card. I went really simple on this one. I colored the couple, die cut it, and adhered it to a white background mounted on red. I added the sentiment and now I am ready to send out a Valentine…next year. It isn’t too early right?

I hope you were inspired today to go back and look at some of your sets. They could be easily used for occasions that aren’t obvious at first but perfectly fit!

Family and Memories made – My Greatest Treasure!

Today the Pajama Crafter Stampers are having an Instagram Hop with a theme of “The Greatest Treasure,”

When thinking about the theme, I decided that my greatest treasure was my family and friends and all the fun memories we have made together. I decided that a scrapbook page would be so much fun but…I don’t scrap book much anymore. My sister does though so I asked her if would she scrap it if I created a scrapbook layout “kit” for her. She agreed and so I got to work. We had phone calls , texts, and fun creating the page and while doing so, we made another memory together by collaborating on this project.

My project uses the set Date Night.

For my “kit”, I created a bunch of journal boxes and mounting boxes and some circles so she would have a choice when building her page. Then I created a black and white background page using the small hearts and stars elements. I colored up several of the film canisters and film strips as well as the popcorn and cola couples for her to use on borders. I colored up the Date night marquee and die cut it as well as several more in black to create a shadow behind it. Finally I created my favorite element…a shaker. I inked up and colored several pieces of popcorn and die cut it in a circle to be my shaker background. Then I inked, colored, and fussy cut a bunch of popcorn pieces and movie tickets to use as my shaker pieces. Then I package it all together and took it to her and my job was done.

Her Page turned out so cute! It is a pic of her and my brother-in-law IN a theater ON a movie date night. I love it and am so happy we got to work on this together.

I hope you were inspired today – It is a lot of fun to use these stamps in new and different ways; don’t you think? Now – go ahead an “pop” over to Instagram and hop along with PAJAMA CRAFTER STAMPS – there are prizes and lots more inspiration!

What is your greatest treasure?

Beach Birds

Today I have another fun card using the Happy Beach Critters set from Prickley Pear at Pajama Crafter Stamps. I found a beach scene background in my stash so I thought this one was meant to be – these birds on the beach are perfect right?

The background scene is created using Distress Oxides. It had the tag die cut from the middle already so I went with it and created a little dimension by building up the frame piece.

I inked the beach bird on the background then inked it again on Xpress it Blender paper where I colored it with Copics. I cut out just the top part and glued it onto the one inked onto the background – this way I got legs without having to cut out legs. On the same course, I inked the flying bird onto the Xpress it and colored it with Copics. So I could cut just the outline, I colored the “sky” pieces inside the lei with Copics that matched the background. You can’t tell it’s not the actual background right?

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you were inspired today!

Lyn
