VIDEO Those Who Disobeyed Road Barricade Survived Maui Fire Didn’t Perished – FEMA orders COVER UP -Drone Gets Remotely Grounded

By Kristinn Taylor Aug. 23, 2023

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that people in Maui who drove around a road barricade blocking the lone paved road from Lahaina as fires raged earlier this month survived, while those who obeyed perished in their cars or fled to the nearby ocean. The road had been reportedly closed due to downed powerlines.

A video report posted by CBS News last week offers a rare on the ground glimpse into the grim reality on Front Street (warning, graphic):

The opening paragraphs of the deeply reported AP article followed by one woman’s tale of disobeying the government to survive:

As flames tore through a West Maui neighborhood, car after car of fleeing residents headed for the only paved road out of town in a desperate race for safety.

And car after car was turned back toward the rapidly spreading wildfire by a barricade blocking access to Highway 30.

One family swerved around the barricade and was safe in a nearby town 48 minutes later, another drove their 4-wheel-drive car down a dirt road to escape. One man took an dirt road uphill, climbing above the fire and watching as Lahaina burned. He later picked his way through the flames, smoke and rubble to pull survivors to safety.

But dozens of others found themselves caught in a hellscape, their cars jammed together on a narrow road, surrounded by flames on three sides and the rocky ocean waves on the fourth. Some died in their cars, while others tried to run for safety.

,,,Kim Cuevas-Reyes narrowly escapes with her 12- and 15-year-old by ignoring instructions to turn right on Front Street toward Lahaina’s Civic Center, which earlier in the day had been turned into a shelter for refugees. Instead, she takes a left, driving in the wrong lane to pass a stack of cars heading in the other direction.

“The gridlock would have left us there when the firestorm came,” said Cuevas-Reyes, 38. “I would have had to tell my children to jump into the ocean as well and be boiled alive by the flames or we would have just died from smoke inhalation and roasted in the car.”

The AP article has a very informative interactive timeline of the fire along with other survivor’s tales of not following orders to survive.

The Los Angeles Times also published an interactive timeline on the fire.

The AP article concludes with a survivor’s grief about not the government not issuing a warning that might have given him time to save his neighbors’ children:

Baird’s neighborhood near Lahainaluna Road was filled with kids who were home alone when the flames hit, he said.

“We needed like 10 more minutes, and we could have saved a lot of kids,” he said, choking back tears. “If we’d just had like a 10- or 15-minute warning.”

The family ventured out to a Kahului mall recently, looking for a moment of normalcy in the aftermath of the tragedy. They ran into a playmate of their son.

“The kids just don’t have a filter. So their son ran up and was just telling our son, you know, ‘This kid is dead. This kid is dead.’ And it’s like, all my son’s friends that they come to our house every day,” he said. “And their parents were at work, and they were home alone. And nobody had a warning. Nobody, nobody, nobody knew.”

The government refuses to say how many children were killed in the fire. The only reports are over one hundred people killed and about 1000 missing. Over 2000 homes, apartment buildings and other structures were destroyed.Combined Joint Task Force 50 search, rescue and recovery elements conduct search operations of areas damaged by wildfires in Lahaina, Maui, Aug. 15, 2023. Drone Gets Remotely Grounded Upon Nearing Site of Maui Fire Origin, Pilot Quickly Visited by Government Officials

By Johnathan Jones  August 22, 2023

A licensed drone operator who said he was filming the suspected origin of wildfires that killed at least 115 people in Hawaii told a Fox News host that his drone was grounded and he was visited by federal agents.

That is according to network host Will Cain, who relayed the strange story Monday evening.

In a thread on X, the platform formerly called Twitter, Cain shared the story of Davin Phelps, who said he was prohibited from filming the suspected area where fires started on Maui two weeks ago.

Phelps offered Cain a video of the community of Lahaina, which was devastated by fire. A clip from the drone operator shows buildings that have largely been reduced to ashes.

The aerial photographer also shared with him a number of still images.

Cain then told Phelps’ peculiar story.

“I don’t want to feed ridiculous conspiracies but all I can do is tell you the truth,” he said in his post. “I just spoke to a videographer from Lahaina. Davin Phelps. He’s a licensed drone pilot. He’s been flying over Lahaina for the past week. And he has stunning and haunting images of Lahaina.”

“Davin says he was hired by an attorney to fly his drone over the suspected area where the fire started,” Cain said in a follow-up post.

“There is a no-fly zone over Lahaina. But as you can see from the footage that hasn’t stopped him from getting images of Lahaina Town. But it was a different experience at the fires origin.”

He then shared how Phelps said he was visited by law enforcement officers after his drone veered into the no-fly zone before he called for more transparency from the government.

“Apparently licensed drone pilots fly through an app coordinated with the FAA,” Cain posted. “That app can deny you permission to fly and remotely ground your drone. It’s very rare. But when Phelps got to the suspected fire origin area he was denied flight and grounded.”

Cain continued, “Then he says two government officials (he doesn’t remember what agency) quickly visited him, asking for his license, and ran him off the Lahaina Intermediate School parking lot where he attempted to launch.”

The Fox News host concluded, “So why the secrecy in this area? Liability? Accountability? Why no clarity on the origins and cause of the fire?”

ABC News reported one theory is that the fires were sparked by downed power lines. However, there are no clear answers, and many are speculating about the blazes and their origin.

Hundreds of people are still missing while recovery efforts continue.

EXCLUSIVE: President Joe Biden’s ‘Climate Emergency’ Declaration Speech i

Content of speech follows this introduction.

As you may know, after a week of terrible optics after the Maui wildfire, President Biden was excoriated in news and social media for sitting on the beach, on vacation and making “no comment” to reporters regarding the fire. Even though major news outlets like the LA Times are backing down on the idea that the fire was “climate caused,” and of course there’s no climate component whatsoever, much of the left is still using it as their talking point for why a “climate emergency” should be declared and putting pressure on the White House to do so.

The previous week, Biden had said he “practically declared a climate emergency” in response to hot temperatures in July and other factors, but was excoriated by the left for not actually declaring a climate emergency.

Then there has been the insane pronouncements of “global boiling” from the UN and the fact that their Secretary General has gone off the rails on the “climate emergency” issue. However, once again there appears to be no climate component to our hotter than normal summer, but instead seems have been caused by a lack of clouds, leading to increased sunlight reaching the ground according to this analysis by climatologist Dr. Judith Curry.

But, the left’s mantra has been “never let a good crisis go to waste.” Facts simply don’t matter to them.

Biden made a surprise announcement last week, cutting short his planned vacation in Lake Tahoe with an announcement he’d fly to Maui on Monday the 21st. Thus, it wouldn’t be a surprise to have Biden declare a “climate emergency” on Monday, with the burned ruins of Lahaina, Maui as the backdrop. The optics are perfect for him, and we know how much the White House is all about optics rather than substance.

Biden has already issued a preliminary statement here.

But it seems some Maui residents don’t want him there according to this article in Townhall:

Several residents expressed frustration to the New York Post, saying they would rather Biden not bother visiting after waiting so long to address the fires.

“I don’t want him here,” Lahaina resident Jay Awan said. “He’s just coming to Maui to look good in front of the cameras.”

We’ll see what happens.

What follows is a likely speech (if Biden decides to do it), preemptively written by Anthony Watts and Charles Rotter.

Remarks by President Biden to Tackle the Climate Crisis by Declaring a Climate Emergency

Location: Lahaina, Maui

Date: Monday, August 21, 2023

Ladies and gentlemen, members of the press, and most importantly, the brave residents of Maui,

I stand before you today in the historic town of Lahaina, a place that was once the heart of Hawaiian culture, now tragically scarred by the inferno that nature unleashed. The tragic events here on Maui have not just affected a town or an island but have touched the very soul of our nation. The loss of at least 110 lives, homes destroyed, history erased, and memories turned to ash; these are not just headlines or statistics. These are the heart-wrenching stories of your neighbors, your friends, and your family.

Unusually dry conditions, primed by the unprecedented effects of climate change, laid the groundwork for the wildfires we see today. Our people were left scrambling into the ocean, a desperate act of survival, because land – the very ground beneath their feet – betrayed them in the most horrifying manner. And while the fires may have been contained for now, the broader flame, the burning issue of climate change, rages on unchecked.

For years, scientists and climate advocates have been sounding the alarm. The continuous extraction and use of fossil fuels is not just an environmental issue, but a ticking time bomb that threatens our way of life, our safety, and our very existence. Today, right here in Lahaina, we’ve seen the devastation that this ticking bomb can unleash.

Kaniela Ing, a voice of this community, poignantly stated, “My island is on fire.” This sentiment is echoed across the world, as wildfires choke regions from Canada to Australia, heatwaves suffocate places like Texas, and extreme flooding drowns parts of Europe. It’s not just an island or a town; it’s a planet that’s crying out for help.

It is easy to revert to partisanship in moments of crisis. But the flames that tore through Lahaina did not discriminate based on political affiliation. They consumed indiscriminately. And that’s the nature of the climate crisis we face today – it respects no borders, no parties, no ideologies.

I’ve taken steps to protect public lands, rejoined the Paris climate agreement, and have pushed for a progressive environmental agenda. But the scenes here, as economist Umair Haque pointed out, signify that “practically” declaring a climate emergency is not enough. I’m here today to declare that it’s time for action, not just words.

Today, I want to make a commitment to the people of Maui and to all Americans: I will declare a national climate emergency. We will marshal every resource, every piece of legislation, every ounce of innovation and spirit this nation possesses to fight the looming threat of climate change.

To the skeptics and deniers, I urge you to come here, to see the devastation, to look into the eyes of those who’ve lost everything. This is not a theoretical debate for future generations. This is here. This is now. We can no longer afford to be on the sidelines, we must act now.

I call on Congress, on leaders at every level, and on every American: let’s invest in clean energy, let’s reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and let’s make a future where our children won’t have to flee into the oceans to escape wildfires.

Thank you, and God bless the resilient people of Maui and the United States of America.

Note: This entire post, including the posited speech and header image, is entirely political commentary, representing our opinion, not actual events. IF Biden chooses to announce a climate emergency, we expect this will be very close to what he will say.

Tragic Discovery in Maui: Charred Remains of Entire Families Found in Homes

In the aftermath of a devastating fire in Lahaina, Maui, a grim discovery has unfolded as charred remains of entire families have been found in their homes. The death toll continues to rise, with morgues struggling to accommodate the increasing number of bodies. The situation has raised questions about the government’s response, particularly as President Biden remains seemingly indifferent to the tragedy, offering “no comment” on the matter.

The official death toll of 111 has been criticized by locals who believe it significantly underplays the magnitude of the tragedy. The Daily Mail reported that the actual death toll could be as high as 480, a figure vehemently contested by authorities. Morgues have even run out of body bags, underscoring the severity of the situation. Survivors have been left to recover the remains of their loved ones themselves due to the slow progress of the search and recovery operation.

The crisis has also exposed political inefficiencies. While the disaster unfolds, President Biden has embarked on another vacation, adding to the frustration of those affected. The emergency response, both at the federal and state levels, has come under scrutiny, with accusations of incompetence and corruption among officials.

A video obtained by the Daily Mail depicted authorities loading bodies onto refrigerated trucks as morgues reached capacity. Allison Medina, a Maui resident assisting victims of the fire, revealed the dire conditions on the ground. She emphasized the need for urgent action and questioned the delay in providing aid. The slow recovery process has left families to locate the charred remains of their loved ones, compounding the heartache.

The devastation has exposed systemic issues, including a lack of preparedness and a slow emergency response from government agencies. Calls for a swift rebuilding effort are imperative, yet concerns remain about the effectiveness of such actions under the current leadership. The tragedy has amplified the need for a more effective disaster response framework and a concerted effort to prioritize the welfare of affected communities.

Nolte: Patronizing Budweiser Ad Laughed off Internet After Dylan Mulvaney Debacle

www.breitbart.com

John Nolte

Anheuser-Busch put a transvestite on a can of Bud Light and released this terrible ad to try and clean up the mess.

The ad has to be seen to be believed:

Please choose one… Did the ad…

  1. Make you want to buy a Chevy?
  2. Encourage you to return to 2004 to liberate Iraq?
  3. Remind you of Bruce Springsteen’s drunk driving charge?

The ad reeks of 1) desperation and 2) an ad campaign where someone wrote the following phrases on a whiteboard—heart of America, hope in tomorrow, American spirit—and then smugly walked off in the certainty we RedStateTards would forget all about the transvestite who prances around like an astonished reindeer.

These scenes look like they were generated by AI prompts.

“Two firefighter bros, one black and one white, doing a shake-hands-hug.”

“Two trucker-looking bros sharing a Bud on a porch in the country.”

“A Keith Olbermann look-alike wearing a shoulder patch that says “LAND OF THE FREE” raising an American flag (but don’t show the full flag).”

The ad’s Twitter “ratio” is hilarious…

“Hey @Budweiser. What’s next on your agenda after mocking women? Are you going to ridicule disabled veterans? Demand to defund police? Maybe dabble in a little bit of antisemitism?” asked one.

“My favorite advertisement by a mile was the Clydesdales after 9/11. It was absolute perfection. After your embrace of the trans agenda, glorifying a man looking for his 15 mins of fame by mocking women. I will never buy, drink or serve your beer again. #BoycottAnheuserBusch,” said another.

People also got creative:

This one pretty much hit the nail on the head: “I’m not sure a lineup of B-roll footage and some guy throwing middle-America buzzwords at us will win us back, and frankly, bringing 9/11 into this is kind of insulting.”

As I said yesterday, I don’t care if a grown man wears a dress, and I don’t care if a private company uses said transvestite to advertise its product. I would never use a transvestite to advertise a product, but I also don’t do boycotts. Boycotts are fascist.

Nevertheless, this new Budweiser ad is beyond patronizing, exactly the type of thing you’d expect from a Manhattan or Los Angeles ad agency staffed with people who have never met a Trump voter and who view the working class as Nazis who must be tolerated. When I first saw it, 30 seconds passed before I realized it was not a spoof.

This ad, along with Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth’s word salad statement, is only adding to the brand damage. The brewery’s crisis management team should be fired. It’s just one fumble after another. On top of angering its customer base, the brewery now looks foolish. “Bud Light” will be a punchline for many years to come.

However….

Anheuser-Busch stock is still up six points for the month.
