Campaigners have uncovered worrying teaching materials for the Pentagon‘s 160 military schools that many service members may see as unpatriotic and even scary.
Training manuals for its 8,000 teachers advise that Thanksgiving feasts have no historical basis and that America was founded on land ‘stolen’ from natives.
Though uncontroversial for some, Adam Andrzejewski, who uncovered the documents via public records requests, calls it a ‘perverse’ way to teach kids of service members.
His revelations come as Republicans and Democrats clash in the Senate over LGBTQ+ troops and other controversies in the $886 billion defense bill.
Andrzejewski, head of the conservative watchdog OpenTheBooks.com, described a ‘secret push within the Pentagon’s K-12 public schools to institute radical ideologies’ in classrooms. Military teachers are advised that Thanksgiving celebrations, like this one at a regular school, have no historical basis Researchers at OpenTheBooks.com say military schools are engaged in a ‘secret push’ to indocitrinate youngsters
‘Encouraging kids to place complex identities ahead of their shared American ideals is particularly shocking when it’s happening to military families,’ he told DailyMail.com.
‘It’s a perverse way to approach children of service members who are deployed around the world defending American ideals and principles.’ Aguilar’s book says the ‘brutality of colonialism has been erased.’
The military’s education wing, DODEA, which runs schools across seven states, 11 foreign countries, Guam and Puerto Rico, declined to comment on the report.
Its annual $2.26 billion budget educates some 64,000 students and pays the salaries of 14,000 employees.
OpenTheBooks.com asked the Pentagon for copies of education and training materials related to its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) program.
Department of Defense educators replied with a range of its texts, including Coaching for Equity by the California-based consultant, Elena Aguilar.
Aguilar’s 416-page book tells teachers that America was founded on ‘stolen lands’ through the ‘genocide’ of native people.
On the annual Thanksgiving celebration, she writes that there is ‘little evidence this historical feast actually occurred’ in the Plymouth area in the early 1600s.
But there is ‘plenty of evidence of the massacres that the white settlers perpetrated on the native peoples,’ she adds.
‘History has been sanitized, and the brutality of colonialism has been erased,’ says her teaching guide.
‘This perpetuates the power of white supremacy.’ Some teachers in military schools have spoken out about the ‘Marxist direction’ of Pentagon education chiefs Kelisa Wing made anti-white posts on social media when she ran a Pentagon DEI unit This widely-shared educational diagram presents the world as divided between the ‘marginalized’ and the ‘powerful,’ with slim, educated, English-speaking, straight white people at the top
DailyMail.com asked DODEA if the text was used by all teachers, and whether it reflects official Pentagon thinking, but did not get a response.
Spokesman Will Griffin instead referred to the ‘caring, supportive environment’ at military schools, their ‘culture of high achievement’ and their ‘dedicated educators and resilient, hardworking’ students.
Andrzejewski’s 16-page report details other controversial teaching guides that form the basis of lessons in classrooms on military bases.
They include Ibram Kendi’s How to Be an Antiracist, Comprehensive Health Skills for Middle School, and lesson plans by the left-leaning Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Adam Andrzejewski says military kids are being ‘indoctrinated’
The health book advances the notion that biological sex and gender are separate — a point that is popular among transgender activists but is contested by conservatives and experts in the field.
SPLC lessons encourage students to become community activists, and to pressure businesses and politicians to achieve ‘social justice’ for minorities, says the report.
Classroom materials also include the notorious ‘Wheel of Power/Privilege.’
The widely-shared diagram presents the world as divided between the ‘marginalized’ and the ‘powerful,’ with slim, educated, English-speaking, straight white people at the top.
Students also learn about ‘racial bias,’ ‘systemic racism,’ ‘privilege,’ and other ideas aligned to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Taken individually, these materials may be unproblematic.
But Andrzejewski says they have overwhelmed military schools and amount to the ‘indoctrination’ of the kids of those serving in uniform.
It’s not the first time Pentagon educators have come under fire.
Its DEI unit was disbanded last year under pressure from Republican lawmakers amid allegations that its then-director, Kelisa Wing, made anti-white posts on social media. The Pentagon’s education wing operates 160 schools across seven states, two territories and 11 foreign countries
Andrzejewski says educators still teach the same controversial subjects, but keep it under the radar.
Many parents support efforts to tackle deep-rooted racism.
Others say America has worked hard to achieve equality and that zealots just want to make white people feel guilty as a type of ‘reverse racism.’
Teachers in military schools have spoken out against the ‘Marxist direction’ that education chiefs are touting, according to a Fox News article that does not name the teachers.
They complained about ‘wokeism’ in teaching materials that for one amounted to ‘Chinese indoctrination.’
Senators are currently debating culture war issues as part of the annual passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

While Tuesday’s elections results were an epic catastrophe overall for the GOP, a little place in rural Michigan showed that there is still hope for We the People.
The Blaze reported Wednesday that Green Charter Township, a town with roughly 3,200 people located in central Michigan, voted out their entire township board (which governs the city) after they ignored their concerns and cut a dirty deal with a company named Gotion Inc. Then they put a little icing on the cake afterward when they changed the townhall locks just hours after the vote.
Gotion is a corporation which makes batteries for electric vehicles. While the company is headquartered in Silicon Valley, its parent company is based in the People’s Republic of China and has ties to the CCP.
As the Blaze notes, all seven members cut a $2 billion deal with Gotion back in December 2020 allegedly over the prospect of jobs. But ordinary people soon caught wind over the potential for communist infiltration and the horrific impacts the massive plant would have on the environment.
Back in April, residents angrily confronted the quislings for selling them out to our greatest foreign adversary.
“China is our number-one enemy!” one angry resident yelled.
“My family members fought communism, and you’re bringing it right here!” screamed another.
NewsNation uncovered documents proving that the residents had every right to be alarmed. These require Gotion to “set up a party organization and carry out party activities in accordance with the constitution of the Communist Party of China” and “ensure necessary conditions for carrying out party activities.”
Moreover, the plant posed a severe threat to endangered species and drinking water. The Economic Development and Responsibility Alliance of Michigan points out the plant was slated to be built atop what is currently a pristine wetlands site. It hosts many rare species including blue heron, bald eagles, several species of bats, and possibly even the Karner blue butterfly.
The nonprofit also notes that this wetlands site, which helps to regulate local aquifers, runs through a creek less than half a mile long into the Muskegon River, a prominent Lake Michigan waterway.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Gotion even tried to seize 260 acres of farmland in the town. But they backed off thanks to the efforts of brave single mother Lori Brock, who owns approximately 150 acres, where she raises a variety of animals, next door to several pieces of property purchased with Michigan taxpayer dollars where the battery factory would be located.
Green Charter residents next decided only a November recall of the entire board could stop this treason and were able to gather enough signatures over the course of several months to do so. The board otherwise would have been secure until November 2024 and the plant may have been in place by that time.
Two board members, James Peek and Gary Todd, decided to resign rather face the voters’ wrath. Then on Tuesday, more than 1,000 Green Charter residents stormed to the polls to oust the other five sellouts: Trustees Dale Jernstadt and Roger Carroll, Clerk Janet Clark, Treasurer Denise MacFarlane, and Supervisor James Chapman.
Jason Kruse defeated Chapman with 60% of the vote while Jeff Thorne knocked off Jernstadt with 62%. Kelly Cushway won 57% of the vote against Carroll.
Corri Riebow beat Clark for the clerk position with 53% and Robert Henderson also received 53% to beat MacFarlane for the treasurer spot.
The Daily Mail notes that the five incumbents are members of the Republican Party while their replacements ran without any party affiliation.
Even more impressive, some of the winning candidates had no absolutely experience in politics before running.
Just hours after the successful recall, NewsNation’s Brian Entin captured footage of the town’s new leaders changing the locks on the township’s main government building. Talk about sending a powerful message to the people that change is on the way.
Marijuana bill set up for vote in Senate banking committee
ArcaMax Publishing, Inc.
2 – 3 minutes
WASHINGTON — The Senate Banking Committee has scheduled marijuana banking legislation for a vote on Sept. 27, a much-anticipated move that would advance one of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s top priorities to the Senate floor.
The bipartisan SAFE Banking Act sponsored by Democrat Jeff Merkley of Oregon has bipartisan support, including from the lead Republican sponsor, Steve Daines of Montana, who heads his party’s campaign committee. Backers of the legislation have been increasingly optimistic they will easily exceed the 60 votes needed to pass it.
Schumer has repeatedly expressed his aspiration of advancing the bill, which would grant state-legalized marijuana businesses access to financial services. Advocates say it will improve safety because marijuana businesses now often rely on using cash, which can attract criminals.
Hundreds of institutions including state-chartered banks and credit unions do serve the industry. The SAFE banking legislation could allow bigger institutions to get more comfortable with it.
The measure falls short of a broader legalization and regulation effort Schumer and other Democrats have supported, but comes as Biden administration health officials have recommended easing restrictions on the drug.
Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown of Ohio pointed out recently that Republican Tim Scott of South Carolina, the top Republican on the panel and a presidential candidate, has not backed the measure. It’s generally easier to pass legislation when the top members of both parties on a committee support it.
Americans are watching in absolute shock and horror as our government, which is supposed to “fear” the people, runs roughshod over everyone and everything deemed an enemy. Whether that’s President Trump, U.S. voters, J6 prisoners, Julian Assange, Douglass Mackey (convicted of ‘conspiracy’ for sharing an anti-Hillary meme), or a harmless Amish farmer simply minding his own business, our government has grown too big for its britches and lost its way. And speaking of the innocent Amish farmer, that’s what this story is about today — a Virginia man who was raided by the government but is fighting back and desperately needs your support.
“They came with a search warrant,” softly spoke Samuel B. Fisher, a mild-mannered cattle farmer operating a 100-acre farm tucked away in Virginia’s heartland. Fisher’s bread-and-butter, Golden Valley Farms, carves out the scenic countryside that’s a hop, skip, and a jump away from historic Farmville, a postcard-perfect small Southern town with classical Main Street charm.
The father of five had graciously invited us down to his idyllic pasture to rehash the whirlwind of unforeseen events that unfolded over the cruel summer. It was a tumultuous time on the Fisher farm, an upheaval that threatened to upend the man’s livelihood.
“Then, they tagged the meat, so that we can’t touch it; we can’t sell it; we can’t feed our family with it,” Fisher told Townhall.
The government overreach began when Big Brother discovered that this health-conscious, all-natural farmer was avoiding the sometimes rather questionable “USDA” process.
The firestorm of Big Government saber-rattling ignited in mid-June when an inspector with the Virginia Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (VDACS), without warning, paid the Fisher family a visit. Fisher has “no idea” what could have prompted VDACS’s impromptu inspection on June 14, except “maybe they just finally found us through word of mouth,” he speculated.
What was clear: The state sought to penalize Fisher for selling meat that was not processed by a USDA-inspected facility (U.S. Department of Agriculture). Fisher processes—an industry euphemism for butchering—his farm-raised meat on-site and sells it directly to his customers, feeding about 500 consumers and their families, who are part of a buying club. As members enrolled in the Golden Valley Farms membership program, they’ve bought into Fisher’s herd of 100% grass-fed golden Guernsey cows.
“They own part of the business. They own some of the herd,” Fisher explained. “My thinking was […] We can butcher their cows, process it, and sell it to them. I told the state all of this, but they said, ‘No, there’s no way around that. You can’t do that.’ They asked permission to get in here” to search the farm, a request Fisher denied. “And, they told me, ‘We’ll be back,’ and left.”
They came back, alright… this time with a sheriff, and they unleashed a full-scale raid that lasted about three hours. And as the Townhall piece goes on to point out, there is nothing illegal about Fisher processing his own meat for his own consumption.
There’s “nothing illegal” about Fisher processing his own meat and eating it for his own consumption, asserted Mindy, the farm’s officer manager, who oversees sales, handles email marketing, and fulfills online orders. “So, he decided he was gonna go and feed his family, and since he would most likely be fined for doing that, he decided to open up meat sales again. Because if he’s going to be fined, he’s going to be fined, and you might as well do it,” she, wanting to go by “just Mindy,” stated matter-of-factly.
Ultimately, the state seized this poor man’s farm. He’s also been criminally charged. Now, Mr. Fisher is exploring his options and consulting with attorneys to determine his next move.
This video powerfully narrates his story and, simultaneously, exposes the troubling actions of the U.S. government. Sadly, America has become unrecognizable in many ways.
🔥Stop what you are doing and watch this. The state of Virginia raided this Amish farmers farm. He is fighting back.

Biden Allowed Major Donor to Hand Advanced Military Tech to China | Frontpage Mag
7 – 9 minutes
“When I was in another State they would slip and say ‘now I want to introduce the Senator from DuPont–I mean Delaware’”, Joe Biden had joked at a Senate Subcommittee on Crime session.
There’s a certain truth to the joke. DuPont is the corporation that defines Biden’s career. His first Senate bid was staffed with DuPont employees, including future chief-of-staff and senator Ted Kaufman, who was conveniently allowed to take a “leave of absence” from DuPont to help elect Biden. Biden celebrated his victory at the Hotel DuPont and bought a former DuPont mansion.
DuPont figures in a lot of Biden’s stories. He even claims to have gotten on board with gay marriage when his father showed him a gay couple kissing at DuPont. And Biden figures in the latest DuPont story which involves handing over advanced military technology to China.
Last year, DuPont sold off its biomaterials unit to the Huafon Group of China. Huafon, a massive chemical and finance organization,
Biden’s own defense secretary warned that the sale would put technology that could be used for advanced explosives in China’s hands. Those concerns were not unreasonable. DuPont had been born as a gunpowder firm that came to dominate the American defense industry in the 19th century. DuPont was there handling plutonium on the ground floor of the Manhattan Project even though its former president, Irénée du Pont, had admired Hitler. DuPont has since tried to avoid associations with weapons, but its biomaterials had potential military applications.
Houfan, a massive Chinese chemical and finance organization, which dominates the spandex market (spandex was originally developed by DuPont), boasts in its own spandex division that its commitment to “social responsibility” derives from Communist leadership within the company.
The deputy secretary of the Communist Party branch within Houfan was quoted as emphasizing the role of “Communist Party members and youth league members”.
America has been falling behind Communist China in the explosives race. The Ukraine war had demonstrated all too clearly the limitations of our military production capabilities and our reliance on outdated technologies. In 2021, a factory in Louisiana responsible for making all the Pentagon’s black powder blew up. The factory was originally part of DuPont.
China dominates mass production of CL-20, the deadliest non-nuclear explosive, and America has struggled to catch up. A report during the Trump administration had warned that, “China is also the sole source or a primary supplier for a number of critical energetic materials used in munitions and missiles.” Austin and the Pentagon warned about the deadly consequences of handing over DuPont’s technology which, like CL-20, was developed in America, but would be appropriated by China leading to a grave risk of American deaths in possible future conflicts.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has generally been a loyal political soldier. He had previously toed the line on nearly every Biden initiative. But on DuPont, he broke ranks. National security officials tried to meet with Biden to warn him that the DuPont deal might be good for the Delaware company, but was bad for America. Biden however refused to meet with them.
And the deal went through. Despite the supposed safeguards which were supposed to prevent Covation Biomaterials, the name of the new Chinese-controlled company, from getting its hands on the production process, it happened anyway. And the FBI launched an investigation.
Nothing is expected to come of that.
This is far from the first time that advanced American technology has fallen into the hands of our enemies in China, but it’s particularly outrageous because top defense officials, including the secretary of defense, had warned of the consequences, and it happened anyway.
And because there is no company closer to Joe Biden than DuPont.
The Biden family had already been involved in the intersection of China and DuPont when Hunter Biden introduced George Duko, a DuPont executive, to a Chinese businessman who had founded a Communist linked firm. While Hunter has been sidelined, there’s a history there.
DuPont has been kind to Biden, donating $250,000 to his inauguration committee alone, and the Biden family has been kind to DuPont. When Robert H. Richards IV, a DuPont heir, admitted to raping his 3-year-old daughter, Attorney General Beau Biden defended the judge who refused to lock him up because he has “strong family support” and “will not fare well in prison.”
Beau Biden went on to die (of cancer in the United States, not in Iraq, as Joe Biden has repeatedly lied) and the Biden clan decided that the best way to memorialize the man who let a child rapist walk was to set up the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children. The foundation, currently holding its ‘Child Protection Classic’ at the DuPont Country Club, became famous when laptops bearing its sticker turned up filled with pornographic materials featuring its chairman, Hunter, including allegations of supposed inappropriate behavior with underage girls.
There is no understanding the Bidens without understanding Delaware and DuPont. The decline of DuPont was a pivotal moment for Joe Biden’s political career. The Bidens have never been national figures and though Joe, his brother, and his son crisscrossed the world, they were always local grifters. DuPont’s troubles caused them to turn to China.
Hunter Biden’s firm had bet on Fisker: one of the companies that the Bidens hoped would replace DuPont. Biden, then Obama’s veep, had announced a $529 million low-interest loan (and another $20 million from the state), to the European electric car company that was supposed to build a massive manufacturing facility in Delaware. Joe Biden had promised that “this is seed money that will return back to the American consumer in billions and billions and billions of dollars in good new jobs.” “It’s our fund that’s in the deal,” Hunter wrote.
An investment banker emailed a congratulations to Hunter on Fisker’s purchase of a former Delaware GM plant and offered a “sincere thanks for any and all help provided concerning Fisker”.
Fisker only sold 2,000 of its ‘Karma’ electric cars and went out of business. Americans lost $139 million on the Biden project. One of the $142,000 cars went to Hunter Biden alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and other connected figures. The car was paid for by a Kazakh businessman allied with the regime and with Putin’s Chechen warlord whom Joe and Hunted Biden dined out with.
With Fisker going under, Hunter turned to Chinese investors. Fisker was gobbled up by Wanxiang. Two executives from the massive Wanxiang Chinese automotive company had met with Joe Biden at the White House that year. Hunter had been financially linked to Wanxiang and an executive who met with Joe Biden emailed Hunter offering to help him get his Fisker fixed.
The fate of Fisker helps shed light on how our national security was sold out with the DuPont deal. Joe and Hunter Biden are far more interested in what’s good for DuPont than what’s good for America. Biden’s decision is likely to increase China’s military edge and weaken our own.
China didn’t have to buy the President of the United States, just the “Senator from DuPont”.

Amidst the pandemic, Tala Diop, an immigrant from West Africa, resorted to selling socks, slippers, and bucket hats on the street due to limited job opportunities.
However, a few weeks ago, as part of a street vending crackdown, representatives from the Department of Sanitation confiscated his tables and merchandise.
They transported it to an impound lot in Brooklyn, forcing Tala to endure a whole day’s effort and an expensive taxi ride to retrieve his belongings. Additionally, he claims to have incurred fines from the city as well.
“They take everything. They take the table, everything. That’s not right,” Diop said. “Why they choose me? I got a wife, I got two daughters. I have to pay rent. I have to eat.”
In the wake of COVID-related shutdowns that led to job losses, many lower-income and immigrant residents in the city turned to street vending as a means of income during the pandemic. However, as the city adjusts to a post-pandemic reality and faces challenges in the brick-and-mortar retail sector, there has been a crackdown on street vendors, accompanied by a focus on improving street cleanliness.
The recent enforcement actions on Fordham Road exemplify the escalating tensions between the city and street vendors. An incident on Easter Sunday involving unlicensed vendors led to chaos and uncertainty regarding the future of a weekly market in Sunset Park, as the Parks Department and NYPD cracked down on the vendors.
In March, City Councilmember Sandra Ung from Flushing urged the city to enforce existing street vending regulations. At the beginning of the year, the city evicted Brooklyn Bridge vendors and deployed police patrols to prevent their return.
Since oversight of street vending was transferred from the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to the Department of Sanitation in April under the Adams administration, the Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID) has observed a significant reduction in unlicensed street vendors in their busy area. Wilma Alonso, the President and CEO of the Fordham BID, described the difference in enforcement as “like night and day.”
According to an insider at the sanitation department, sanitation workers initially posted warning notices and later escalated their actions by issuing five summonses and seizing the belongings of five vendors. The Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID) reported a significant decrease in the daily count of street vendors, plummeting from approximately 120 per day to a figure closer to 70.
“We always knew that this was an issue that impacted public safety, and so we just appreciate it for that to finally been recognized, and for enforcement to finally be happening,” said Albert Dalipi, Deputy Director of Outreach of the BID.
Dalipi highlighted the potential public safety risks associated with unlicensed street vending, including sidewalk congestion and increased trash accumulation, which are major concerns for the Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID).
Additionally, unlicensed vendors can negatively impact brick-and-mortar businesses, facilitate the sale of counterfeit and stolen goods, block bus lanes, and contribute to issues such as rat infestations and illegal dumping.
Businesses in the area, already grappling with the repercussions of the pandemic, have expressed support for the crackdown on street vending as they believe it is impacting their profitability. Mojib Ullah, a manager at Kid City on Fordham Road, emphasized the significant challenges posed to his business due to street vending.
“Everything has a limitation,” Ullah said. “Too much vendors are a problem. I know they want to survive also, but there is a limitation and it’s out of limit. They’re always bothering the business: The same items we’re selling in the store, they’re selling the same item in the street. Sometimes they block in the front.”
Zee Ahmed, a clothing store manager on the corridor, said that he sympathizes with the street vendors, but that the surge in vendors since the pandemic has impacted his business.
“It definitely affected business after the pandemic, when the vendors started, it definitely affected our business,” Ahmed said, adding that the vendors crowd the sidewalks and make the area feel more congested.
“The business is not the same and the spending is not like it used to be… People don’t have the spending money they used to,” he added.
However, for vendors, the intensified enforcement poses a significant risk to their means of earning a living. During the pandemic, when they had limited alternatives, many turned to street vending. This transformed the area, transitioning from only a few fruit stands and ice carts during the summer to an abundance of tables filled with jewelry, masks, tacos, bags, and mangos lining the entire strip.
“A lot of people are living with that fear of, this is their only method of survival at the moment. Most folks who are on the corridor are immigrants really have no other option but to vend,” Jennifer Salgado, a lead organizer at the Street Vendor Project, an advocacy group.
According to Salgado, vendors have become increasingly apprehensive about selling their goods since the shift to Sanitation enforcement, as there is a fear of having their items confiscated.
Samuel Owusu, a 32-year-old, manages to make ends meet by selling $2 bracelets and $40 homemade bags on Fordham Road in the Bronx. He began street vending during the pandemic as a means to cover his rent and grocery expenses, as well as to support his family in both New York City and his home country of Ghana.
“If they sack us from here, I’m going to be out of options,” Owusu said. “I don’t block the road. I don’t do nothing wrong here. I don’t sell fake things. I want to pay my bills. I want to eat. I’m not going to steal. And they’re still worried about us.”
Miriam Salinas, 57, has been a street vendor for decades.
“They treat us like criminals,” she said of the Sanitation enforcement.
Salinas said that many of the vendors have banded together and now keep an eye out for enforcement officials in a big WhatsApp group chat.
In New York City, the estimated number of street vendors exceeds 10,000. However, the availability of general-vending licenses is currently limited to a cap of 853, and citywide food vendor permits are capped at 2,900. As a result, obtaining a license has become exceedingly difficult.
Bassio Saul, aged 32, shared his experience of attempting to apply for a general merchandise permit in the past.
“You go, but you can’t get it,” he said. “They put you on the waiting list. But what do we do in the meantime? We can’t just stay home, without working, without paying our bills, supporting our kids or family?”
Nicolas Veintimilla, a second-generation street vendor, said he first applied for a street vending license three years ago and was placed on a waiting list.
“During the pandemic, I couldn’t work,” Veintimilla, 24, said. “This was another option, selling here. So I started selling Jibbetz, like the charms for shoes. And then I switched to this, coins and bills.”
Veintimilla sells rare coins and bills from a rolling cart. On a good day, he makes around $130. He works six days a week.
“It’s not right. There’s no justice with that,” he said of the crackdown.
A federal judge in Louisiana blocked Democrat President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate for health care workers on Tuesday, issuing a nationwide injunction on Biden’s order.
Louisiana Western District U.S. Judge Terry Doughty’s decision follows an identical ruling Monday from Missouri U.S. District Judge Matthew Schelp, but Schelp’s decision only covered 10 states.
Doughty ruled on the lawsuit led by Republican Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and joined by 13 other states, but Doughty added a nationwide injunction in his ruling.
“If the executive branch is allowed to usurp the power of the legislative branch to make laws, two of the three powers conferred by our Constitution would be in the same hands,” Doughty wrote. “If human nature and history teach anything, it is that civil liberties face grave risks when governments proclaim indefinite states of emergency.”
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry praised the ruling and slammed Biden for “villainiz[ing] our healthcare heroes with his ‘jab or job’ edicts.”
“While our fight is far from over, I am pleased the Court granted preliminary relief against the President’s unconstitutional and immoral attack on not only our healthcare workers but also the access to healthcare services for our poor and elderly,” Landry said. “I will see this case through to the end – fighting every step of the way to prevent the federal government from imposing medical tyranny on our citizens and turning last year’s healthcare heroes into this year’s unemployed.”
The U.S. has agreed with Canada and Mexico to extend land border restrictions on non-essential travel into September amid continued fears about the coronavirus pandemic.
“We continue to work with our Canadian and Mexican partners to slow the spread of #COVID19,” acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said Friday. “Accordingly, we have agreed to extend the limitation of non-essential travel at our shared land ports of entry through September 21.”
The U.S. announced in March that it had agreed with its two neighbors to close its land borders to the north and south to all but essential travel as part of a broad range of efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The agreement has been extended a number of times and was due to expire on Aug. 21.
“We already told the United States that we’re of the idea that it’s extended because of what we have along the strip on their side,” Mexican Foreign Affairs Secretary Marcelo Ebrard said Thursday, referring to a rise in cases near the U.S. border.
Essential cross-border workers such as health care professionals, airline crews and truck drivers are still allowed to cross along the border. Much of Canada’s food supply comes from or via the U.S.
Americans who are returning to the U.S. are exempted from the closure at the U.S.-Canada border.
It is one of a number of travel-related restrictions that countries have taken in order to curb the spread of the virus. In the U.S., President Trump barred nationals from China, Iran, Brazil, the European Union and the U.K. from coming into the U.S.
The administration has also taken further action on illegal immigration and asylum-seekers, taking measures to quickly return them back to their home countries with minimal, if any, time in detention.
The United States filed two civil forfeiture complaints today in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida alleging that commercial real estate in Louisville, Kentucky, and Dallas, Texas, both acquired using funds misappropriated from PrivatBank in Ukraine, are subject to forfeiture based on violations of federal money laundering statutes.
Acting Assistant Attorney General Brian C. Rabbitt of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney Ariana Fajardo Orshan for the Southern District of Florida, U.S. Attorney Justin E. Herdman for the Northern District of Ohio, and Special Agent in Charge Eric B. Smith of the FBI’s Cleveland Field Office made the announcement.
The complaints allege that Ihor Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Boholiubov, who owned PrivatBank, one of the largest banks in Ukraine, embezzled and defrauded the bank of billions of dollars. The two obtained fraudulent loans and lines of credit from approximately 2008 through 2016, when the scheme was uncovered, and the bank was nationalized by the National Bank of Ukraine. The complaints allege that they laundered a portion of the criminal proceeds using an array of shell companies’ bank accounts, primarily at PrivatBank’s Cyprus branch, before they transferred the funds to the United States. As alleged in the complaint, the loans were rarely repaid except with more fraudulently obtained loan proceeds.
As alleged in the Complaints, in the United States, associates of Kolomoisky and Bogoliubov, Mordechai Korf and Uriel Laber, operating out of offices in Miami, created a web of entities, usually under some variation of the name “Optima,” to further launder the misappropriated funds and invest them. They purchased hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate and businesses across the country, including the properties subject to forfeiture: the Louisville office tower known as PNC Plaza, and the Dallas office park known as the former CompuCom Headquarters. The buildings have a combined value of approximately $70 million.
A complaint is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
FBI’s Cleveland Division is investigating the case with support from FBI’s International Corruption Unit, IRS Criminal Investigation, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. International Unit Chief Mary K. Butler, Senior Trial Attorney Michael C. Olmsted, Trial Attorneys Shai D. Bronshtein and Peter Steciuk, and Law Clerk Robert Blaney of the Criminal Division’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section and Assistant U.S. Attorney Adrienne Rosen of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida are prosecuting the cases. The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs has provided substantial assistance in the investigation.
The Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative is led by a team of dedicated prosecutors in the Criminal Division’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section, in partnership with federal law enforcement agencies, and often with U.S. Attorney’s Offices, to forfeit the proceeds of foreign official corruption and, where appropriate, to use those recovered assets to benefit the people harmed by these acts of corruption and abuse of office. In 2015, the FBI formed International Corruption Squads across the country to address national and international implications of foreign corruption. Individuals with information about possible proceeds of foreign corruption located in or laundered through the United States should contact federal law enforcement or send an email to kleptocracy@usdoj.gov (link sends e-mail) or https://tips.fbi.gov/.

Governor Wolf says, he will disapprove the resolution. The General Assembly would need a 2/3 majority to override the governor’s disapproval Author: Chelsea Koerbler (FOX43) Published: 5:15 PM EDT May 28, 2020
HARRISBURG, Pa. — There are two resolutions moving through the state house in their respective senate and house chambers. Both resolutions would do the same thing, terminate the COVID-19 emergency disaster declaration issued by Governor Wolf on March 6th.
Republicans, State Rep. Russ Diamond, and State Sen. Doug Mastriano, are sponsors of the resolutions. Pennsylvania’s Emergency Management Services Code defines the Governor’s authority to declare a disaster emergency but, the general assembly by concurrent resolution may terminate a state of disaster emergency at any time. Governor Wolf says, he has the power to disapprove the resolution and intends to exercise that power if it does pass with a majority vote. null
“I don’t see by a constitutional democratic perspective why this would make any sense,” said Gov. Wolf. “I do have the power to disapprove and I intend to.”
Sen. Mastriano says, the resolutions would need a two-thirds majority to override Governor Wolf’s disapproval and get the resolution to take effect. Assuming all republicans vote in favor of the resolution, 26 democrats in the house, and six democrats in the senate would need to support it.
“It takes the unilateral power out of the governor’s hand and places it back in the hands of the general assembly,” said Sen. Mastriano. By terminating the declaration, it would get rid of the red, yellow and green phases, and allow Pennsylvanians to make their own decisions on what they feel comfortable doing. “The goal is we take the power out of the governor’s hands and put it back in the people’s hand so they can decide if they want to open up and how to open up and if they do it safely or just go back to normal operations.”
Governor Wolf says, by ending the emergency disaster declaration, the state would lose $1.5 billion dollars in FEMA funding. However, Sen. Mastriano says, the Trump Administration has assured him, the state would not lose that money if these resolutions took effect.
The emergency disaster declaration is set to expire June 4th. Within his powers as Governor, Wolf can either let it expire or extend it. The governor does intend to renew the emergency disaster declaration. His office tells FOX43: null
“The governor’s COVID-19 proclamation not only allows the commonwealth to more quickly procure much-needed resources to assist county emergency management and support our medical professionals and first responders, it makes us eligible for federal reimbursement for associated costs under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program. We are still very much in need of federal funding in order to respond to and recover from this pandemic.”https://d-979871345335546688.ampproject.net/2005151844001/frame.html
Even as unemployment benefits paid since March 15th tops $10 billion, some folks haven’t been paid and have been waiting weeks for an answer as to why Author: Chelsea Koerbler (FOX43) Published: 5:40 PM EDT May 26, 2020
As Pennsylvania has paid more than $10 billion in unemployment since March 15th, it is still taking days, and sometimes weeks for people to get in contact with unemployment to iron out any issues with their claims.
Many claimants are faced with busy tones when calling the Dept. of L&I or a message saying their email may take 49 days to get answered. The Dept. of L&I has been working to ensure quicker response times. It has added hundred of employees since March15th, and yet, some people are still waiting days, if not weeks to get answers about their claims. null
The department offers these tips if you have questions:
Email first. That puts you in a line to get your question answered.
Try the online chat function. The department has continued to add more staff to the online chat function. Many of the employees hired by L&I are working the chat.
If you need to call, your best bet is to call later in the week.
“i would say keep trying,” said Susan Dickinson, Department of Labor and Industry Office of Unemployment Benefits Policy Director. “I know some claimants that have gotten through in the last two weeks and others say they haven’t gotten through at all.”

The health official responsible for overseeing nursing homes in Pennsylvania — where nearly 70 percent of the state’s coronavirus-related deaths have occurred — moved her elderly mother out of one of the facilities as deaths skyrocketed, a report said.
Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine said Tuesday that her 95-year-old mother requested to be moved out of a personal care home, a local ABC affiliate reported.
“My mother requested, and my sister and I as her children complied to move her to another location during the COVID-19 outbreak,” Levine said, according to ABC27.
“My mother is 95 years old. She is very intelligent and more than competent to make her own decisions,” she added.
After criticism from some state lawmakers for the move, Levine argued she’s working to ensure the health and safety of all state residents, according to the report.
In March, Levine ordered long-term care facilities in the state to continue to accept coronavirus patients who had been discharged from hospitals but who were unable to return to their homes, the Bucks County Courier Times reported.
Of the state’s 3,806 coronavirus deaths, 2,611 had occurred in nursing homes and long-term care facilities, according to ABC27.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true. —Soren Kierkegaard. "...truth is true even if nobody believes it, and falsehood is false even if everybody believes it. That is why truth does not yield to opinion, fashion, numbers, office, or sincerity--it is simply true and that is the end of it" - Os Guinness, Time for Truth, pg.39. “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” - Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal.
