For God So Loved the World

I have one more card for 2024. Due to design team obligations as well as the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays I had to pause my bible verse based cardmaking for Grace Klein, a local faith based charity. I am hoping to get back on track in 2025.

After using the The Greetery Leaves All Around Stencil, I blended on grasshopper, dove and wildberry inks then cut out with the matching Leaves All Around die. I struggled with this a bit so you need to just embrace the imperfections! I printed the verse provided for the current Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #679-680 challenge onto white linen cardstock, then cut out with a stitched edge die. I backed the stenciled piece with a plain layer of cardstock and attached around the opening for the sentiment.

Products: The Greetery Stencil and Die, Neenah cs, MFT dieC and Simon Says Die, Concord & 9th inks, Copic Markers
Copics: C00, C1, C3

Have a happy and safe New Year! I hope to see you back here in 2025.

Christmas Blessings

The images from the Hero Arts Floral Nativity stamp and die set have been colored over a year but just never made it onto a card. I did record the colors then in a draft post otherwise I would just be guessing. I assume it is a retired set as I only find it on Amazon and Ebay.

Since the images were already completed, I just needed a background. I decided on the Craft Consortium Ink Drop-Midnight papers which provided a quick and easy, rich alcohol ink background look without all the mess.  I cut it with the PTI Love to Layer: Soft Ridges die, stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and gold heat embossed. After adhering the images to the piece, I attached it to a dark indigo stitched edge cardstock panel. The sentiment doesn't show up that well in the photo but looks better in real life.

Products: Hero Arts stamps and dies, Craft Consortium dp, PTI cs, PTI die, Altenew and Versamark ink, Copic Markers
Baby Jesus-E00, E01, E21, E25, W00, E81; Mary-E000, E01, E02, E21, E25, G20, G24, R83,W00,E81, BG10,BG11, BG23, Y21, Y23; Joseph-E00, E01, E02, E11, G20, G24, W00, E81, B91, B93, Y21, Y23, Y26; Manger-E30,E31,E33,W1, YR30,YR31; Stable-C1,C3,W00,W1

O Holy Night

For the first day of Advent I am featuring a Nativity themed card.

I actually created this card some time ago but just never posted it. Although I recorded the products I used and the Copic markers to color it, I don't really remember that much about it. I do know the background was ink blended then I used a stencil and some paper glaze to create the starry background. The stamps and dies are from the Sunny Studio Holy Night set.

Products: Sunny Studio stamps and dies, Picket Fence studios Paper Glaze, Miss Ink Stencil,  Altenew, My Favorite Things and Ranger Distress ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Mary-E00,E01, E53, E55, W00,E81, B41, B32; Joseph-E00, E01, E21, E23, BG70, BG72, BG75, 341, E42; Manger/Baby Jesus-E00, E01, Y13, Y15, E81,YR30, Y21; E31, E33,Stable-E31, E33, E35, YR30, Y21, Y23, Y02, Y15; Lamb-W00,E81,T1, T3; Donkey-W00, W1, W2, W5

Enjoy this advent season.

50 Completed and Donated

Today's three faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally. Their goal is to give out 100,000 scripture based cards this year to be included with the food, clothing and school supply boxes, etc. They want cards in bundles of 25 which is daunting to our kind of card makers but my goal is to donate 100 cards by the end of the year. If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.

I used The Greetery Mighty Oak Botanicuts dies along with the sentiment from the Comforting Commands stamp and cut with the matching die adhered to a dark gray background.

Products: The Greetery stamps and dies, Simon Says cs, MFT die, PTI and Ranger Distress ink

I used the same die set on the second card adhered to a lighter gray background. The sentiment is from the Stamp Simply Fear Not set.

Products: The Greetery dies, Stamp Simply stamp, PTI and Simon Says cs, MFT die, Altenew ink

I found this tag in my card stash and in looking back on my blog discovered it was created in 2015 for a tag challenge. So that definitely gave me a much needed head start on this card. The background was created with a strip of patterned paper and an already blended paper pad. I just typed up the verse, cut out and then blended on antique linen distress ink.

Products: Kaisercraft stamp, Lawn Fawn and Reverse Confetti dies, MFT cs,  Sunny Studios and MFT dp, Michael's Mirrored Gold cs, Ranger ink

Due to the devastation of Hurricane Helene, Grace Klein has begun shipping truck loads of relief supplies to Tennessee and North Carolina. These are people who have lost everything, family, homes, pets and their sense of security and safety. GK specifically asked for faith based cards to share along with the donations given out to those who are suffering so much. So....that meant I really needed to gear up to finish my second group of 25. I took another look at my card stash and found 9 that I could easily alter with a bible verse sentiment. That got me to 47 cards in total and these 3 represent #48, #49 and #50 of my second set of 25.

I know these photos aren't the best but I had to photograph during a particularly gloomy day. Both sets a of 25 are probably on their way to either Tennessee or North Carolina.

I am submitting these to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #667-668,

and also to the October Four Seasons Challenge.

Sing to the Lord

Today's faith based card was created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally. Their goal is to give out 100,000 scripture based cards this year to be included with the food boxes, clothing etc. They want cards in bundles of 25 which is daunting to our kind of card makers but my goal is to donate 100 cards by the end of the year. If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.

I used chocolate brown ink to stamp the Papertrey Ink Year of Psalms February (retired) sentiment onto pool party cardstock cut with the Paper Trey Ink Charming Tags 1. The kraft cardstock and patterned paper background was cut using a stitched edge die and after attaching the sentiment tag I stamped a couple of musical notes from the same Year of Psalms set using the same chocolate brown ink. Lastly I used the Feathered Friends 2 die set to cut from various cardstock in my scraps bag attaching to the card front using foam dimensionals.

Products: Papertrey Ink stamps and die, PTI dp and cs, SU cs, Lil Inker Designs die, MFT and Ranger Distress ink

This cards represents card #38 and is a part of my second bundle of 25.

A Fall Feeling

Today's faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community).

I stamped the leaf cluster from the Spellbinders Fall Thoughtfulness set (Sep23 Clear Stamp & Die club) onto Copic friendly cardstock. I cut out with the matching die, then trimmed off the string portion as I wanted to add a 3d version. I attached the stamped piece with layer of craft foam onto a card stock piece cut with the largest die from the Papertrey Ink Reflections:September set. The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Fear Not set was stamped directly onto the backgroundpanel using chocolate brown ink.

Products: Spellbinders stamp and die, Simply Said stamp, Hemptique cord, Papertrey Ink and Lil Inker Designs dies, Altenew and MFT ink, Copic Markers
Copics: E07, E08, E09, E30, E31, E33, E35, YR01, YR02, YR21,YR23, YR27, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y38, G40, G43, G46, V15

In keeping with my usual, I made another card using the same stamps and dies while they were on my craft table, this time using the pumpkin cluster image. I wanted a more muted color scheme as I know so many of my cards lean toward the feminine side. The sentiment is from the Psalm Reflections: August Mini set stamped with chococolate brown ink.

Products: Spellbinders stamps and dies, PTI stamps and dies, PTI cs, Lil Inker Designs die, Altenew and MFT ink, Copic Markers
Copics: Pumpkin- YR01, YR14, YR21, YR23, YR24, E71; Leaves-G40, G43, G46, E33, E35, E37

I have to say, I found these images hard to color, especially the first one. I made a lot more mistakes than I usually do.

These cards represent #36-37 and are part of my second bundle of 25.

I am submitting these to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #667-668

and also to the October Four Seasons Challenge.

A Little Pink A Little Blue

Today's faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community).

The Color Hues Challenge #95 gave me the perfect excuse to break open the pinks and blues from the last The Stamp Market color release. I really needed something to take my mind off things, so I spend the afternoon in a pink and blue crafty haze.

I used the cerulean, soft berry, tea berry and white cardstock combined with the Papertrey Ink Delightful Brackets die. The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Fear Not set was stamped using cerulean ink. I used dies from the Penny Black Flower Family set to cut from tea berry and soft berry cardstock adding white flat back pearls for the centers.

After cutting out the bracket die for the previous card I thought it resulted in a great frame so I attached it to a powder blue panel.  I used the small die from the same set to stamp the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Words of Encouragement using cerulean ink. A trio of flowers with stems trimmed off were cut from tea berry cardstock to anchor the sentiment piece.

For the last card, after cutting the three flowers from white cardstock, I attached to a cerulean cardstock panel. I inked the centers using tea berry and soft berry ink and added pink flat back pearls. The sentiment from the set was stamped using tea berry ink onto a small piece cut with the smallest die from The Greetery Nordic Circles set and attached with foam dimensionals.

These cards represent #33-35 and are part of my second bundle of 25.

I am also submitting these to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #667-668

Cards for Bulgaria

This is the third year in a row that our church has partnered with Mission Bulgaria to provide Christmas shoe boxes for the Roma children in Bulgaria. What is different from the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes (which is also a very fine organization) is that their hygiene/school needs are provided separately so our boxes can be filled with the fun stuff like toys and candy. And the best part, is that we have a specific child to provide for complete with their name and a picture. One photo is attached to the shoebox top and one is to keep so that we may pray for them throughout the year. This mission sends around 3000 boxes and our church usually does about 300 of them. Click here for more info.

I used some older products including a ready made PTI card front and the Reverse Confetti  (no longer in business) Joyous Holiday stamp and die set for the angel and an Illustrated Faith (retired) set for the nativity. Inside is a message from us that I typed in English and then used Google Translate to translate into Bulgarian. The sentiments (Christmas Blessings) were also translated and printed onto cardstock and cut out with an older Paper Smooches die.

For Magdalena, age 7:

For Petar, age 11:

Products: Reverse Confetti stamp and die, Illustrated Faith stamp, PTI card panels and cs, MFT, Concord & 9th cs and Michael's metalllic cs, MFT dies, Altenew and Delicata ink, Copic Markers
Copics for Angel: Skin-E00, E02, E11, R21; Hair- N2, N3, N5 N7; Horn/Halo-Y21, Y23, Y26; Dress-W00, E81, BG11; Wings-BG10, BG70
Copics for Nativity: Skin-E02, E11, E21, E15; Clothing-BG10, BG11, BG23, YG91, YG93, YG95; Baby Jesus-E00, E02, W00, E81; Manger-E30, E33

Both had to be done very quickly as I was running out of time. Due to lengthy overseas shipping all boxes are mass shipped in September in order to make it for Christmas.

Fall Mums

Today's faith based card was created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally.

This project has had a major stoppage on my part. I won't bore you with what all has happened to us in the past month but suffice to say there has been very little time to craft.

There is a bit of fall here in Alabama. September is usually one of our hottest months so it has been a nice weather break. I love fall mums so I used The Greetery Sunflower BotaniCuts to create mine. I cut the flower from honey nut cardstock for the flower then blended on rusty hinge distress ink before assembling the layers. The leaves and veins were cut from two different colors of green cardstock both of which were in my scraps bag. I blended on forest moss distress ink on the leaves. The large sentiment from the Comforting Commands set  stamped in mowed lawn distress ink and then cut out with the matching die and the smaller one with rusty hinge cut with a strip die. Before attaching the images and sentiments I partially blended antique linen onto a stitched linen cardstock.

While my supplies were out I made a second card with another mum as the center piece and using all the same colors. That's the only way I am going to get this many cards completed before the end of the year. I included an older stamp and die
Papertrey Ink Inspired:Lord for the sentiment.

Products: The Greetery stamp and dies, PTI stamp, die and cs, Ranger Distress Ink

These cards represent card #31 and #32 of my second bundle of 25.

I am submitting the first card to the Color Hues (#94) Challenge - Rust & Green

And the second card to the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #665-666 and also to the Freshly Made Sketches #653

Leaf It

Today's three faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally. Their goal is to give out 100,000 scripture based cards this year to be included with the food, clothing and school supply boxes, etc. They want cards in bundles of 25 which is daunting to our kind of card makers but my goal is to donate 100 cards by the end of the year. If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.

I used the Concord & 9th Triple Set Stamp set to stamp the various elements using peacock, oceanside and grasshopper ink then cut out with the matching die. The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Words of Encouragement set was stamped onto a peacock cardstock panel using Versamark ink and white heat embossed. The stamped piece was attached with foam dimensionals and a few pearls from my stash finished it up.

Products: Stamp Simply stamps, Concord & 9th cs, MFT and Concord & 9th dies, Versamark and Concord & 9th ink

For the second card I just used the Triple-Step Autumn Leaf  Die set for a cardstock only leaf.  Although it was triple step I just two colors instead of stardust and tidepool. The small leaf clusters were stamped using stardust ink. The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Fear Not  set was stamped using Versamark ink onto a stardust oval then white heat embossed. Cording was tied around the leaf stem before attaching all the pieces to a tidepool cardstock panel.

Products: Stamp Simply stamps, Concord & 9th cs, Hemptique twine, Spellbinders, MFT and Concord & 9th dies, Versamark and Concord & 9th ink

For the last " leafy" card I first did some ink smooshing with mowed lawn distress ink and the Picket Fence Studios$ Trapezoid Stencil onto a stitched edge cardstock panel. The sentiment from the Stamp Simply Fear Not set was stamped using the same mowed lawn ink. The two leaves were cut from cardstock scraps using the Neat and Tangled Oak Leaf die (no longer in business). Twine and pearls from my stash finished it up.

Products: Stamp Simply sentiment set, Hemptique twine, Picket Fence Studios stencil, Neat and Tangled and MFT dies, Ranger ink

These cards represent #27, #28 and #29 of my second bundle of 25.

I am submitting the first card to the the Word Art Wednesday challenge of Anything Goes - Weeks #650-660.

If you have any questions or want to join me, please send me an email or comment on this post and I will give you the details.

I used the various dies from the Concord & 9th Friendly Florals set to create the coneflowers from two shades of pink with yellow centers plus green stems and a bee from the same set. Rubbernecker Stamps Luke 1:37  verse was stamped with cornflower ink onto a tag cut with a die from the Paper Trey Ink Charming Tags 1 set. Rubbernecker has been rebranded as Brass & Bliss. Create in Me

Today's faith based card was created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community). This is a wonderful faith based organization that has many charitable endeavors both locally and globally.

I cut both hearts from simply chartreuse cardstock using The Greetery Heart Leaf Posy Die set and the flowers from cardstock in my scraps bag using dies from the Forget-Me-Nots set. The small flourish was cut from kraft cardstock using a die from the Curio: Spring Findings set. I  blended gathered twigs distressed ink onto it as well the border strip to change the color. Before attaching all the elements, I used the Regency Swirls embossing folder (which was included in my Gemini box) on the upper part of the panel then stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Words of Encouragement set using chocolate ink.

Products: The Greetery dies, RC and PTI cs, Ranger Distress and MFT ink

This card represents the 25th card in my first bundle of 25. Three more bundles to go!

I am submitting to the Word Art Wednesday challenge of  Anything Goes - Weeks #657-658.

Under His Wings

Today's two faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community).

For both cards I used the PTI Year of Psalms March and PTI What the Doodle Feather and die which are both retired.

First up, I did some ink smooshing using salvaged patina distress ink onto a stitched edge cardstock panel. Two of the feathers were stamped onto watercolor paper using Versamark ink then white heat embossed and cut out with the matching die. I blended PTI dark indigo, tropical teal, green leaf inks. The smallest feather was stamped with tropical teal ink. I stamped the sentiment using tropical teal ink directly onto the panel, then clustered the three feathers around it attaching with a combo of glue and foam dimensionals.

Products: PTI stamps, dies and cs, MFT die, Ranger Distress ink and PTI ink

I tried for a more masculine on the second card. The diagonal stitched panel background was created by blending distress tumbled glass ink over  Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Moving Air Stencil. I stamped two of the feathers using permanent black ink, cut with the matching dies then blended lake house, sage and dijon ink and sprinkled water downed white acrylic ink with a fan brush. The two smaller feathers were all stamped with dijon ink. After attaching all the feathers around the sentiment which was stamped with permanent black ink, I added a trio of sequins.

Products: PTI stamps and dies and cs, Lil Inkers Designs die, Picket Fence Studios stencil, Doodlebug sequins, Altenew, The Stamp Market and Ranger Distress ink

These two cards represent cards #23 and #24 for my bundle of 25 (because I found 12 cards in my stash that fit the scripture requirement).

I am submitting to the Word Art Wednesday challenge of  Anything Goes - Weeks #657-658. And also Tic Tac Toe Challenge (#252) using diecuts/free/any sentiment.

He Counts the Stars

Today's two faith based cards were created for Grace Klein here in Birmingham (@grace_klein_community).

I tried for a more masculine look on these two cards. Both use a mini cardstock piece from Reverse Confetti (no longer in business).

I cut the star filled cardstock piece with a stitched edge die then stamped the Papertrey Ink Year of Psalms: December  (oos) using midnight ink them attached to a midnight cardstock panel. I added three sizes of stars cut from scraps using The Greetery Rustic Star Small die set. A few sequins finished it up.

Products: Papertrey Ink stamp, Concord & 9th cs, RC cs, Spellbinders sequins, The Greetery and MFT dies, Concord & 9th ink

For my second card, I stamped the Verve (no longer in business) sentiment onto the starry piece using permanent black ink then placed onto a slate background panel. The stars were cut from saffron spice and white cardstock using The Greetery Rustic Star Large and Small dies and attached with foam dimensionals.

Products: Verve stamp, Simon Says and PTI cs,  RC cs, The Greetery and MFT dies, Altenew ink

These two cards represent cards #21 and #22 of my bundle of 25 (because I found 12 cards in my stash that fit the scripture requirement).
