Parker's Ninjago Party

The moment Parker discovered Lego Ninjago, it was all down hill from there.  He eats, sleeps, breathes Ninjago.  Of course when asked what kind of birthday party he wanted, the response was no surprise... A Lego Ninjago party!!  So arrangements were made, and our awesome family pulled together for one fun party~

The Papa's~ best in town!
The cake, and the goodie bags~

And in the end, he was spoiled rotten.  Gifts, and cake, and loves galore!!

Happy Birthday angel boy~ you complete our family, and make us smile every day!
Love,
Your family

Parker's 4th Birthday~

We had a pretty special birthday boy, our Parke turned 4 years old! How can this be? Those who know us well, know we are at our best on laid back-jammie sort of days. Something about {no agenda} that is so refreshing, and perfect for a celebration...
The opening of the gifts~ this boy is obsessed with Lego Ninjago, and that is all he wished for!
So donning his new Ninjago jammies, and building his new Ninjago Lego set he was happy as a little lark!
And who needs cake, when you can have a cookie? Parker's one request was homemade chocolate chip cookies, his favorite! As promised, here is the recipe~ it's a good'n!
{fyi~ this makes a huge batch, i usually half the recipe,
or make it and freeze half the dough for later}
Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 lb. butter, softened
2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 T. vanilla
3 eggs
5 1/2-6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. chocolate chips {Guittard milk chocolate are my fav}
1 c. nuts {optional}
Cream sugars and butter for 10 minutes. Add vanilla and eggs and beat 3 more minutes. Combine all dry ingredients and add. Beat 3 more minutes, and drop onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. You may also add oats, or coconut for variation;)
Enjoy!
And the remainder of his day was as follows...
Sportin his new bike helmet, shades, and flip flops that he hand-picked himself.
He is one cool kat! ;)
Rylie playing with bugs again...
You don't have to smile for pictures on your birthday if you don't want to, we decided:)
Parker is adventurous, full of zest, fiesty, stubborn, loving, tender-hearted, and sweet to the bone. Can't imagine our family without him in it:)
Happiest Birthday wishes angel boy~
You make us smile every day.

easter

Easter this year was beautiful.
Warm sunny weather, egg hunts galore, sweet treats, and baby animals...
That silly bunny paid us a visit~
And coloring eggs is a must!
I am so grateful for the life and example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love the joys of spring, and the reminder of renewed life and the beauty of God's plan for each of us.

Springy randomness

A little more randomness, as if you haven't had enough from me already;)
This has been a beautiful spring.  Snow in the mountains, and green grass at the park~ doesn't get much better... although, the snow is long gone now.  We took full advantage of spring break and got a few solid ski days in, it was wonderful.
 We are back at it in the soccer department.  First few games were killer, but we're starting to get our lungs back;)

The last few ski days with my sweet dad and kiddos~ pure heaven.
Some springy goodness~
And so so happy to have our pooch out walking the streets again!
We've been on a health kick~ trying to rein in the sugar intake.  Enjoying ourselves some healthier eats!  And the garden is already underway~ hip hip hooray!
A night at the ranch with the baby animals is always a good time.  The kiddos' happy place for sure.  Dirt, fresh air, tree climbing, animal extravaganza... all good things:)
Some quality time at the Jazz game~
Concessions were a must!
Kaden's first ever pinewood derby car.  A little assistance from his big daddy in the 'wood cutting' department, and he was on a mission to take first place!  Even said a little prayer;)
Alas, his car did not take first place-- but the speeding bullet was tops in our book!
Also got the award for 'sleekest design'... go Kade!
From snowmen to pink blossoms, and everything in between.  Parker had a few weeks there that he would insist on being dressed as a superhero.  Pretty much melted my heart...
Friday night sleepover camp-outs have become a new tradition, and this warmer weather calls for a snow cone and some watermelon!  Who's with me?!
And there you have it folks~ a whole lotta random.
Thanks to instagram for these pix that allow me to remember sweet moments that I would have otherwise forgotten.  Yep, spring has been good to us.
