Flying was her first love. Now she gets to share it with her son. ✈️ Maruja has been flying with KLM for 29 years. Her son Youp was inspired by watching his mom head to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Taxiing with engines off⚡️✈️ Recently, KLM Cityhopper operated its first passenger flight using a hybrid TaxiBot. Our Embraer 195-E2 departed Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for London Heathrow, with its engines switched off until shortly before takeoff. This helps reduce (ultra)fine particle emissions, while contributing to cleaner air and lower noise levels on the apron. A first flight today. When your mom becomes your colleague 💙 Hanneke joined KLM in 1989 and has been flying around the world as a Senior Purser. Anna grew up with airplanes, travel and stories from her mom’s life in the skies. In 2024, she joined KLM herself. Since then, they’ve already flown together five times.
