The best place to get answers is the Overtime Cook Recipes Facebook Group! This recipe will always have a special place in my heart. Why? Let's go back to 2012 for a minute, shall we? It was February 2012, 7 months after I started this blog, when I was first offered a column in a large kosher magazine. Nowadays, so many bloggers write for the various magazines, that it's hard to describe the exhilaration of such a unique (back then) opportunity. So much has happened since then, hundreds of my recipes have been featured in large … [Read more...]

Roasted Peach Pound Cake

June 26, 2017 by overtimecook 3 Comments

Roasted Peach Pound Cake is the summery cake that will allow you to make the most of summer's bounty! Have a question about one of my recipes? The best place to get answers is the Overtime Cook Recipes Facebook Group. Click here to join the conversation. I've always had a love/hate relationship with summer's stone fruits. On one hand, who doesn't love a good peach? Or plum. Or nectarine. Etc. They're sweet and juicy and just make people happy. So what's the hate all about? I just wish they would be less...finicky. In the autumn, I can buy a bag of apples and keep them in my fridge for (what feels like) months without anything going wrong. Summer fruit, however, doesn't keep that way. It … [Read more...]

Homemade Mango Lemonade

August 28, 2014 by overtimecook 12 Comments

Homemade Mango Lemonade is simple to make and is bursting with seasonal flavors.  I'm sorry folks, but I'm just not ready to accept that summer is nearing an end. It's hard to ignore the signs, but I'm trying my best. Pinterest is no longer filled with juicy berries and heirloom tomatoes. Family barbecues are getting less frequent, and the weather is getting cooler. But it's still august, and I'll post a summer recipe if I want to. The pumpkins can wait. So can the apples, the fall spices, the warm fall flavors. Today we can have a tall glass of homemade lemonade, served over ice. Hold on to summer, it's fleeting, but it's still here. This Homemade Mango Lemonade couldn't be simpler. … [Read more...]
