February

We had a really great February.

Lots of Jazz Games.

Lots of Teddy's giant head in my face.

We went Cat Skiing at Powder Mountain with our neighbors Jon & Leslie Hunter.  I love that Leslie is such a good skier.  Below is a photo of Oz in the Cat.

We went to Cafe Molisse for Valentines Day, but we had to get a heart shaped pizza a few days earlier.

We hung out with Miles and Bea.  I always agree to tend, but Oliver usually does all of the work.

twenty-seven

February continued to be awesome to the very end.  We finished it up with my birthday and then a trip to Cabo.  I turned 27 (so old) on the 24th.

Like any good birthday, celebrations lasted over a week and were all centered around unhealthy food.  Here are the moments that were captured:

Two of my best girlfriends took me out to lunch, a cooking class, and shopping.

Megan Gasser, Me, Kate Pettit.  I feel really lucky to have these girls in my life (and neighborhood).

My mom and Maeve took me out for a girls day the Monday before my birthday.  We went shopping, to lunch, to dessert (Gourmandise pictured above), and then to the most bizarre movie of all time (Pina).  It was fun to spend the day with them.

For my birthday this year, Oliver surprised me with completely planned and booked road trip in August.  Portland, Mt Hood, Seattle, Couer d'Alene.

On my actual birthday Oliver took me, Maeve, Brad, Miles, and Mike skiing at Snowbasin.  Beth hung out in the lodge with Miles when we wanted to go on some harder runs.  It was the perfect groomer blue bird day.  We had a great easy day of skiing and lunch at Earl's lodge.

We all look so weird in this photo; it was so sunny.

Later that night Oliver took my to Forage.  I had been wanting to try it for a really long time.  The 15 course meal was a little over the top for us (think small bites of food every 15 minutes).  The plates were beautiful, but I think I would rather have a normal nice meal than 4 different preparations of rhubarb and a pork cracker.  It was out there.  We may have told the waiter after 2.5 hours that we had somewhere to be, just so that we could make it to Bruges before it closed at 9 (Torpedo topped with chocolate and creme fraiche - heavenly).

This coarse was scrambled egg with onion cream and maple syrup.

Here is Oliver eating different preparations of milk (he is such a good sport).

The following night we had our annual birthday celebration with my parents, Ian, Kelsee and Canon.  We went to a BBQ place and then we took my dad back to Bruges for round 2.  Big Mike loved it and brings it up every time we see him.

Here is to 27!  If it is anything like 26, I will be one lucky girl.

Las Vegas

NADA was in Las Vegas this year.  There weren't very many courses that focused on advertising, so I just hung out with the spouses (read: shopped) while Oliver attended the convention.  The highlight of the trip was hearing Aron Ralston speak (the guy who got stuck in Zions and had to cut his own arm off).  Vegas was extra crowded and sleazy due to it being Super Bowl weekend, but the food always makes it worth while.  We were able to try Spago, Samba Sushi, Wicked Spoon, and Restaurant Guy Savoy.

I was also lucky enough to have my annual NADA meet up with one of my high school friends, Ryann, who also married into an automotive family.  It is always good to see her and compare notes about our husbands and families.  I hope we can keep up the tradition.

Samba Sushi - it was awesome.

Aron Ralston gave the Sunday morning devotional.  I love that car dealers pray at their meetings and aren't afraid to include God in their national conventions.

We went to a huge Super Bowl party that was thrown by Aspen Marketing.  It was at the Palazzo.

Enjoying the Super Bowl Party.
