This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians in pulmonology, cardiology, and critical care, including physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners, and PAs, as well as other clinicians who are interested in the diagnosis or management of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

Program Overview 

Choose your track and test your knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of PAH and match wits with the expert faculty and your peers in this 2-tracked lightning round webinar. What testing is necessary for diagnosis? Can you identify treatment targets in the pathophysiology of PAH? How should specific patients with PAH be treated? Track 1 presents an overview of PAH. Track 2 is an in-depth discussion of advanced topics in PAH. Credit will be granted for completion of 1 track only. However, content will be available for review for both tracks. Please select the track that most aligns with your educational needs for credit.
 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Track 1: Overview of PAH diagnosis and case-based treatment

  • Describe the pathophysiologic pathways that are targeted by novel and emerging PAH treatments
  • Recognize patients who warrant evaluation for pulmonary hypertension (PH)
  • Identify best practices for PAH treatment, based on evidence-based guidance, which recommends an individualized approach that includes shared decision-making with patients and their families/caregivers


Track 2: Advanced topics in the diagnosis and treatment of PAH

  • Describe the pathophysiologic pathways that are targeted by novel and emerging PAH treatments
  • Differentiate PAH from other forms of PH using guideline-recommended evaluation and testing
  • Develop treatment plans for patients with PAH that reflect the latest evidence and guidance regarding the initiation, adjustment, and escalation of therapy in patients with PAH based on risk level and shared decision-making with patients and their families/caregivers

Instructions for Participation

To receive a certificate and claim credit, participants must:

  • Follow instructions to register or log in with your professional information 
  • Select an activity track, complete the lightning round questions within the activity, and view the online activity track in its entirety. 
  • Complete and submit the online posttest and evaluation. You must answer 70% of the posttest questions correctly to earn credit. You will have unlimited opportunities to successfully complete the posttest. Credit will be granted for completion of 1 track only. 

A certificate of participation will be available for download/printing immediately following your successful completion of the posttest and evaluation.
