Santa is One Smart Man
Ask Briley what he got for Christmas, and he'll tell you Tranformers and Bakugans. Ask me the last time he played with them, and I couldn't tell you. However, not a day has gone by that he hasn't played with his Trios. These are a type of block similar to Legos for 3-5 year olds. They come with a book with all sorts of designs. Briley has built all of them so many times, that he is now designing his own. Seriously he wakes up building blocks and goes to bed arguing because he still wants to build blocks. They are simply fabulous.

Karate and Gymnastics
Briley is a busy bee, and after weeks of being cooped up in the house, I decided that he was ready to start his first extracurricular activity. So I signed him up to test out karate and gymnastics.

Master Lee told me that he would "train" out that energy. You go for it Master Lee! Train out that energy!
Here he is testing out a "flip" on his first day of karate.

My Little Unicorns
I love these pictures of the boys in the bath. They have taken baths together since Lawson was born, and now it feels funny if I only give one boy a bath. Briley thought Lawson's unicorn hair was so funny that he wanted me to do it to his hair.
Lawson LOVES his big brother. I love this picture. This is how he looks at him all the time!

Join my Fan Page!
I've had all sorts of plans for my photography business this year. Although we have a ton of decisions ahead of us, I can't wait to see what 2010 holds for Shannon Payne Photography.
* My first plan was to go to the annual photo expo, which luckily was held in Nashville this year. Nick has been my biggest fan. He volunteered to go with me and make a weekend trip out of it. We had a great getaway, but I came home a little overwhelmed! Go figure, I didn't bring my camera, so I have no pics to post.
* My second plan was to set up a facebook page, so if you're on Facebook click HERE to become a fan!
* Very exciting news: I just met with the manager for Clipper magazine, and I will have an ad in the Feb/March issue that goes to thousands of homes in our area!!! Hopefully I know what I'm getting myself into!

Lucky Me!
Thumb Sucker
Smart Boy
Briley hasn't been too excited about learning. He learned how to spell his name months ago, but as for practicing his letters or writing, he hasn't been too interested. I haven't wanted to push him, but lately he has been much more eager to learn. Here he is with his new laptop and one of his workbooks.
Briley's Hamsters
Briley goes through phases where he wants to do the same thing over and over again. Lately he's been wanting to "rest" with his hamsters. He puts them in their balls and plays with them in his room or in his tent. He and Lawson have also been "playing" together lately. So the other day, he had Lawson and his hamsters in his room with the door closed. I peeked in every few minutes and this is what I found...

First Snow of 2010
We woke up to some light snow this morning! Briley just HAD to go out immediately, and then decided that he didn't want to play or even walk in the snow. All he wanted to do was make snow ice cream.

This was Lawson's first snow, and he actually enjoyed it! I haven't really found anything he doesn't enjoy, though! (Sorry about the logo, I'm putting these on my photography website and forgot to remove it on all the pics.)

Weather Night
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is one of my absolute favorite books as a teacher. So I was sooo excited when it came out as a movie. Since we were expecting snow last night, I decided to have Meatball Movie Night.
So first, we ate spaghetti and meatballs for dinner as we watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

We also talked about the possible snow. Then, Briley put his pjs on inside out, and I taught him the snow dance!
Finally, I went to check on him before bed, and he was snuggled up with "night-night", "turtle", and Daddy's air pump. I figured that the air pump was a safety hazard, so I took it away!
