I love that so many more of my friends are entering the blogging world. I love being able to catch up with everyone.
This is just a reminder that one very special friend, JILL, better be working on her blog. Yes, Jill, this post is just for you. Get that thing going or email me your info so that I can get it going for you. You won't regret it, and I need a dose of the McGowan boys more often.
Love you!!!

Our Little Reader
Blog Book #1 is Finished!
I switched to my blog when Lawson was born because I found out that you could print your blog into a book. Well, time flew by and 2 years later, I hadn't printed one yet. Then, my friend Ali posted a picture of her first blog book. As soon as I saw it, I made myself get it done and ordered. Although I love scrapbooking, I haven't scrapbooked since Lawson was born, and all I've finished is Briley's first year, and part of our vacation scrapbook. This is so much easier, and in the long run, although it's not as cute as a scrapbook, I think it will hold more memories. Thanks Ali, for reminding me to get this done!

Spring Soccer
Spring soccer has officially started. Briley is on the blue team this year. Nick named them the "Blues" since half the team was crying at the game today.
I think he looks so stinkin cute in his uniform.

Daddy and Lawson headed over for the start of the game after they finished cutting the grass.
Lawson tried to get a little time on the field.
We pulled him off, but not before he had the chance to do a little dance on the sidelines for us.
Love my boys bonding. He's not an official Daddy's Boy yet, but I see it in the works ;(

Daddy's New Ride
Our yard is bigger and greener at the new house. By green I mean, neon green, 2 feet tall, grows like a week... 10 months out of the year. Nick was spending 3 hours cutting it with his push mower, so a new ride was definitely in order.
Lawson wasn't so sure of it at first, so he watched from the side with his own mower.
Then he got brave enough to give it a try. They look like they are having so much fun, huh?
Meanwhile, it's hard to believe it today @ 40 degrees, but we were having some awesome spring weather. I made a new arrangement for the front door...
and got a little Easter happy.
Happy Spring!

Chalkboard Wall
After lots and lots of begging on my part, I talked Nick into painting a chalkboard wall for the boys. We have a half wall in part of the playroom, and I thought it would make the perfect spot. When we came home from Memphis a few weeks ago, he had ready to surprise the boys.
They quickly picked up the chalk and got to work.
Briley was super excited! We use the wall to list his "Mystery Words". Each week he gets 3 Mystery Words, which is what we call his sight words. We started this about a month ago. He can now read: can, for, go, a, and, big, is, it, in, me, here, and I. We hide them around the house, write them, play with flash cards, etc. He is loving it!

Thank you Daddy!

Swimmer Man
We are so proud of B-Man! He started swimming lessons in January and has done awesome. He has always been a water baby and started swimming last summer. However, he had what I called the "floating head" where he basically tread water across the pool instead of using good strokes. We have an awesome swim school here, and he learned really quickly. He passed the deep end test a few weeks ago. He had to jump into the deep end, swim under water coming up 3 times for breaths, and then swim to the edge and climb out. They gave him a certificate and took his picture. He talked about it for days. Yay Briley! You made Mommy so proud!
Lawson is 22 Months Old!
Oh my goodness, my baby is almost 2. The plans for the second birthday are already in the works. It's not going to be too big, we're having it back in Memphis. But it will be super special for one little boy who loves Elmo. Here are a few things going on with Little Bit, or as he's now referred to around the house "Bud" or "Buddy".

He still sucks his thumb. We constantly remind him "Take your thumb out of your mouth". He will take it out immediately and put it behind his back. We catch him daily start to put his thumb in his mouth and then pull it back out. Sometimes he'll stick it in for one quick suck. Poor guy is trying.

He is now watching TV. Can you believe it??? He will bring us the remote and say "Elmo watching", which means he wants to watch Elmo. He is obsessed with Elmo to say the least.

My baby is starting to look like a little boy. Something about his polo and jeans made him look so big, I had to take a pic.
Other things going on with the little monster:
* He is talking constantly. He says multiple word sentences and repeats anything you ask him to say.
* He screams when he doesn't get his way. I mean screams. The earth shattering, people staring, and mommy wanting to hide kind of scream. It's not cute.
* He loves his Bri Bri.
* He loves school, but hates being dropped off. See the 2nd note, that's what happens, except it sometimes involves pinching, hitting, and hair pulling. (Yes, his teachers. It's not pretty and highly embarrassing. Good thing he's cute and they really like him.)
* He has lots of girlfriends. When we drop him off at school, all of the girls come to the door and hug and kiss him.
* He is having a blast swimming. When we pull into the gym, he hollers "swimming". He calls a bathing suit "sabing soup". It's my favorite word ever.
* He is fascinated by going potty and what is in his diaper. However no where near ready to be potty trained.
* Loves going to bed at night, loves his night-night, and reading books and brushing teeth before bed.
* Another common saying "he are" (here are - meaning here it is)
He has started eating cereal and milk like a big boy and LOVES it! He asks for more at least twice.

My Best Mommy Moment So Far
The other night the boys (including Daddy) were laying on the couch watching a movie. Briley was laying his head on Lawson, and I kept catching him smiling at him. Then says "You know you are the best brother in the whole wide world, right Bud?" Oh. my. word. can you say Melt My Heart??? It was the sweetest, cutest moment. EVER.
I wish I could have that on video, but since I missed it I had to grab the camera. I know I've said it already, but the boys are becoming best friends. They absolutely love each other. Yes, they fight and frustrate each other, but 85% of the time, they are laughing, talking, and playing.
I never thought I'd be so happy to have 2 boys, and now I wouldn't ask for it any other way. I mean, how cool is it to grow up with your best friend? I hope they stay like this and their relationship just grows and grows. Thank you boys for making Mommy's heart a little warmer last night.

Boys and Their Boots
The other day we were playing inside, and Briley came in to go to the bathroom. He came outside with no pants, his boots back on, and his shirt tucked into his boxer briefs. LOVE that kid. He just stared at me when I started cracking up, seriously clueless about what was so funny. I took a picture on my phone when he first came outside, but I haven't uploaded it yet.

There's the shirt tucked it :)
