Happy Easter!

Briley woke up bright and early for some Easter egg hunting. I could hear him wandering through the house looking for eggs. So we climbed out of bed, woke Lawson up, and searched for eggs in our underwear :)

Sleepy smile #1

Sleepy smile #2

Lawson woke up when he realized there were eggs hidden everywhere. Each time he found one, he'd say "Oh my goodness!"

Briley found eggs with quarters in them! He started shaking the eggs for the ones with $ in them.

"Oh, see it!"

Their Easter baskets were hidden this year!

Super excited, so I couldn't get a good pic. Of course.

We spent a great day together and had friends come over for dinner. We missed our family back in Memphis tons though!

Asthma Season

Lawson got a little cold/allergies a few weeks ago, which led to some wheezing. He started sounding really bad and his nebulizer wasn't helping, so we had to go to the doctor.

Even feeling bad, the little stinker had to go outside. Some kids lay on the couch when they are sick, Lawson lays on the deck!
Poor thing hates the doctor's office! It seems like he gets a shot everytime he goes. He had to have back to back breathing treatments and a steroid shot, all things I expect now. Luckily they worked, and we avoided another ER visit. He had to have "poof poof" every 3 hours for the next 5 days. He once screamed and had to be pinned down for his 20 minute breathing treatments, but this time he was so big boy! He held it on his own and watched Elmo! "Yay Sawson!" (as he'd say)

The Many Faces of Lawson

Good thing he's cute, because he sure has been rotten lately! Those terrible 2's are in FULL FORCE!

Prayers are Amazing

I've seen little Ansley around the neighborhood lately riding in her stroller and driving her princess jeep, but her CaringBridge site hasn't been updated lately. I just checked it to see the most AMAZING news!!! She is NED!!! You can read here if you are interested.

Please pray that Ansley will continue to show now signs of disease. I can't wait to see her beautiful blonde hair start growing back!

Got Milk?

Even though it's ice cream, I thought the little booger would make a cute Got Milk? ad.

My Hands Were Full

The boys' girlfriends came over early one morning. Their mommy had an early morning appt, and her baby sitter didn't show up. So I was alone with 4 kiddos before 7:15am. We watched cartoons, ate breakfast, and played. Everyone was really good except the monster in the white shirt and orange pajama pants. I guess we messed up his schedule!

Look Familiar?

This is the usual baking/cooking spot for the boys. As usual, they do more eating and licking than helping. Thanks, Mamaw, for our new cookie sheets and frosting! They loved it!

I Love These Boys

Too bad they can't keep their eyes open and all smile at the same time.

Artist in the Making

Briley has always been interested and really good at coloring and drawing. I remember when he was 3, he gave me a mug for Christmas where he drew our family. I was amazed at how good he did.

A few months ago, we started going to the library every Thursday. Briley was ready to start reading chapter books, and I thought the library would be the best way to find some. It's ended up being a weekly trip since then. He gets so excited to go. It really makes mommy proud.

He loves the series called Ricky and His Mighty Robot. (He is all into series, collectibles, etc. If there are 10, he must have them.) So of course, we must read every chapter book.

At the end of these books, there are pictures that show you how to draw the characters step by step. So when we got the first book, Briley looked through it on his way home. When we got home, Lawson and I checked the mail and cleaned up outside. Meanwhile Briley disappeared inside.

I came in to find him all set up with his book, paper, and markers.

He was drawing Ricky step by step. (You can click on the picture to see it bigger.)
I was amazed and so proud of how well he did. This was completely on his own with no help.

A Husband's Motto

I love this so much I had to share it! The other day I posted my new motto:
I woke up to a message this morning from one of my friends, who thought it was pretty fitting for her too. So she wrote it on her chalkboard. This is what it looked like when her husband got his hands on it!
Definitely made for a good laugh this morning. Have a great Easter and weekend!

The View from my Desk

Lawson is loving his birthday presents.

Running for a Reason

I just had to share. I am sooo proud of myself. I have never been a runner, but since we joined the Y, I have really worked on it. I'm now up to 3 miles! Here are my new, white running shoes, that are supposed to help me run better.

I've been going to the gym 4-5 days a week, in order to get ready for this!!!
Yep, the hubs and I are off for a grown up trip. to Mexico. ALONE. To say that I am extremely excited is an understatement. I can't wait to swim here.
or here
or here
and sleep here.
Heaven. I can't wait for our much needed dose of alone time.

2,Elmo, Choo Choo Train

Our sweet baby boy...
Has turned into a talking, opinionated, spirited little boy. Where did time go?

Lawson didn't watch TV for his first 18 months, and all of a sudden he discovered ELMO. If he watches TV, it must be Elmo. When you ask him his name? "Elmo". When you ask him how old he is? "2 Elmo". Which is sometimes followed by "2, Elmo, Choo Choo train." I think we confused him when we took his birthday picture!

We celebrated his birthday in Memphis with friends and family. It was sooooo great seeing everyone again. And although I felt like a frazzled mess between no Elmo cookies, a lost cake order, being late, taking pictures, trying to visit with everyone, etc. Lawson had a blast. Here are some pictures from his big day.

We rocked out Sesame Street shirts...
I thought Daddy made a cute Oscar. Not to mention that it was pretty fitting for him.
Lawson LOVED his Elmo pinata. (Possibly not more than Briley though. Briley called it a "pennyata".)

The big kids had fun with the hats.
Messy face
B's best buds Dawson and Hudson even came! He was ecstatic!
Happy Birthday Lawson! I can't see what the next year has in store!
