Lawson Starts his 2 Year Old Class
Little Bit started MDO when we returned from the beach. He was so excited to take his new lunch box to Bri Bri's school. He didn't realized that he was going to his school next. Last year's MDO consisted of ear wrenching screaming, so I was prepared for the worst. Good thing, because it was pretty bad. Luckily no teacher hitting, just lots of screaming. Poor guy starts crying "No Sisa, No Sisa" as soon as we pull into the school parking lot. ("Sisa" was his teacher last year and now this year. I'm so glad to have her again, because we love her. Lawson loves her too, just not at drop off time.)
Anyway, the screaming lasted all week, but I dropped him off today, and he didn't make a sound. He had his thumb crammed in his mouth, but he didn't scream. Baby steps.
Flashback to B's Big Boy Bed
Tink was 2 when he got his big boy bed. We had just found out that baby #2 was on the way, and I wanted to get the crib out of his room before he got attached to it. So this is the first time for the crib to be converted to a toddler bed. You wouldn't believe the teeth marks on that thing! And the sales person told us that the crib was "rottweiler proof". Yeah, rottweiler proof maybe, but not "Payne boy proof"!
Once upon a time... Part 2
I'm sure you can guess what happened next.
Lawson didn't quite realize what a "big boy" bed meant until the front of the crib was removed. Then, he was so excited and grinned ear to ear.
Mommy had a hard time telling the crib goodbye. I mean, no more baby beds in our house. again. ever. It just seems too soon :(
But,
Little Bit
was so happy,
and Bri Bri was so proud,
and he sleeps fabulously in there. So, who can complain?
Yay for big boy beds and growing up.

Day 8: Going Home
Briley actually cried when we told him it was time to go home, and we decided we'd have to go a few extra days next year. A week flew by too quickly!
On our way home, we stopped at the Air Force Armament Museum. The boys were in awe of all the big planes, and Briley loved the bombs.

Day 7
Our last full day (boo) called for a breakfast trip to the Donut Hole. Where they were out of key lime donuts AGAIN (double boo).
I know this seems like an awful repeat picture, but I put it up b/c of Nick's face. This is the way he looks when he looks at the boys, and it's one reason why he's the best daddy in the whole world.
The boys weren't as traumatized as I was about the lack of key lime donuts.
Back to the harbor we went...
The boys were tired of sand and salt, so it was back to the pool we went. No complaining from us!
They did some floating,
A little loving on mommy,
and then it was back upstairs for naptime for Lawson
and mommy.
Our last seafood dinner :(
B switched things up and got peel and eat shrimp instead of fried shrimp.
Lawson learned how to peel his own shrimp.

Good Times
B learned how to play Uno on our trip. He loved it, and we spend several hours playing together. It's kind of fun having your baby grow up :) Sometimes.

Day 6
We started the day off at the beach. Lawson was too cool in his sunglasses.
We stay on the bay side of our condo because we like the pools there better, but there is a walk bridge that you can take to the gulf side and the beach. The boys love it.
Daddy and Briley found huge crabs.
Lawson loved jumping the waves. He went crazy chasing them and fell under tons of times. He'd come up and spit and wipe his mouth for 10 minutes afterward.
B's hermit crab
I think I had the cutest boys on the beach.
Then we walked over to the sprinkler park to spray of the salt and sand. We loved playing hide and seek over there.
Mommy got caught doing this a few times while Lawson napped. I think the sun and "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" attitude plus a book where the perfect combination for a good mommy nap.
Back to McGuire's for another dinner, this time B stayed awake. Did I mention how good the boys were at dinner???
B's first $1 at McGuire's
Green cherry time
And a green drink for mommy
B went to the bar to get more green cherries, when he tipped the bartender, they told him to take it home and put it in his piggy bank :)
Then we went night time crabbing, another first for mommy and Lawson.
The crabs were huge in this spot!
Fun times.
