5 Year Anniversary

Wow...It has been five years 2 diplomas, 1 house and 3 children since we were married. Life moves so quickly. A little too quickly in fact. We have our hands so full with our kids, jobs, church stuff, and home improvement projects that we both completely forgot our anniversary. Sad I know, but it is true. I did not even see it coming until my good friend Amy called to wish me a happy anniversary. Luckily Peter and I had already planned on going on a date since it was friday night. We had a very lovely dinner and talked all about what we have done in the past 5 years and how our marriage continues to get better with age and then took a walk in the woods near the temple and found the exact spot we got engaged at (we have not been back since that day). It was a great anniversary despite our cloudy memories.

We got to go out on "Bampas Boat" as Dallin calles it today. This is all he can talk about besides monster trucks. We decided we had better go since that is all he prays about every day.

Dallin likes to waterski with Daddy. He is our brave little guy. I think he will like waterskiing as much as Peter did growing up.

Tanner enjoyed his nap while we were on the boat. I don't think he even knew we were went.

Grandpa and Eden Josephine have a very special relationship. He is very cute with her and she likes to sit on Grandpa's lap.

This is Tanner and his friend Joshua. They are about 3 weeks apart in age. We had a fun day with our friends the Nielsons who went with us waterskiing and then helped us install our big front window at our house.

What a cute baby

Tanner is starting to smile and coo a lot. This stage always makes all of the hard work from the last few weeks really pay off. It feels like he is talking to me and really knows who I am. I think he is very handsome. I took a few pictures to try to capture his cuteness and hopefully something to frame. He was very cooperative but doesn't smile for the camera as much as he does for us. His eyes are still a dark blue. Dallin's eyes were like this too and they changed to a green-hazel color when he was about 9 months old. I would guess that Tanner's eyes will change too. He looks a lot like the dark haired Dickinsons.

Strike a pose!

This is my niece Hanna Mae Arave and my dad Stephen Arave. She was baptised last Saturday in St Helens. Our whole family was there for this great event. Hanna followed the good example of her brother Scott who was baptised a while ago as well. She was all smiles during the program and sat with her proud mom and dad. I am a proud Auntie too.

Camping

Dallin loved climbing around at the camp site. He scaled quite a steep hill and proved to be very nimble. He also loved wading in the stream. Although it was very cold, he showed no fear and had a great time with all the other kids. Eden did not appreciate the cold water however and had a great time as long as mommy was holding her.

Eden was our dirtiest little camper. In fact she fell and scraped her face the day we left and I didn't even realize how bad it was until the next day because there was so much dirt on her face. But she had a great time so I think it kids should be kids.

Last weekend we went on our ward campout. We had a great time with our friends the Nielsons. This is Eden and Noah sitting by the campfire. This was probably the cleanest that Eden was the whole time.
Eden just loves Tanner! She is always touching him and kissing him. I think she would carry him around instead of her dollies if she could . She is very maternal. Dallin Really likes him too. He calles him by his name and always smiles really big at him.

This is Tanner with his new cousin Claire. She is just 4 weeks younger. Apparently she already does not like boys! Of course we have high hopes of them being great playmates. I hope Tanner will like playing with girls because he now has 3 girl cousins his age: Ruth, Clarindon and now Lindsey who was just born this week to Larry D and Michelle.

Eden and Dallin are becoming quite the little buddies. Lately by the end of Eden's nap time, Dallin is quite anxious to get her up to play. I guess he gets bored of not having her follow him around. I love it when I hear them giggling at eachother. It is a nice break from the pushing and hitting phase that Dallin was in for a while. Dallin is really starting to understand how to share. Yesterday I gave hime 2 pieces of apple. He took them over to Eden and gave one to her so that they could eat them together. That really warmed this mother's heart. Dallin is really starting to understand sharing and not taking toys from others and not pushing. When he forgets he is responding really well to time-outs. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get through to him on these issues. Now just a threat of a time-out will often stop him from doing something naughty.

Tanner Quinn was blessed on August 6th. I was proud that we filled up so much of the chapel with our families. This was a great day. We had brunch at our house after the blessing and had a big group of about 30 people over. It was great to visit with so many people that care about our family and shared Tanner's special day with us.

Dallin loves to go to school and ride on the school bus. What a big boy!

This is our newest family picture. It is amazing how hard it is to get everyone to sit still and look at the camera. We gave up on getting everyone to smile.

summer memories

This was our trip to sunriver with my side of the family. There were lots of cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, grandma and grandpa. Here are the cousins playing bingo.

This was the race that Dallin won 3rd place for running a mile in. HI, I am Peter.... notice Dallin's mis-matched shoes. He insisted on wearing one of each pair for several weeks.

Our New Blog

Peter here...Cilla had nothing to do with this and wants everyone to know it. Boy Scout Camp was a lot of fun this year as you can see. If anyone is interested in learning this technique I would be happy to help.

Wow, I have been wanting to do a blog but didn't know how. Thanks Sarah this is awesome! Here are a few fun pictures to start us out.
