Update on this week’s rotation

Yes, I had to do a new overhaul of my rotation to try and fit everything in. There have been 2 new additons with Advice from a Caterpillar and then Calla which will be coming up near the end of the month.

This week Claire’s wings got a nice bit of work in : Scan10002 I decided to move upwards this time.

Next was Heart of the World, my SAL with Paula… more black which fitted in with the mood of the week __ RAIN!

Scan10003 and not to forget, week 4 of the sampler sal : Scan10001

Splash of colour

This has got to be the coldest summer yet, so much rain and cold that it feels as if it should be fall with lows of 10 C and highs of 14-18 C. The few times that the sun has come out it has been a shock… what is that yellow ball like object? Seriously it has been warmer in April! Some one was talking about global warming???  At least my plants are happy and so are the weeds (grin).

With all that grey I thought a poppy red would be refreshing so I put Poppy Fairy QS into my weekend rotation and it put some colour into the day.Scan10017 (reminder tented 1 over 1 on 32 ct linen – SMF X-scapes merfin)

and here is the update for the sampler sal : The Bramble and the Rose by Ink Circles Scan10036 worked 1 over 1 on 30 ct legacy linen with HDF silks

Something to think about.

Some one sent this to me and I thought it was the best explanation of the meaning of life I had yet to come across… thought I would share it with you all.
TWO WOLVES

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

“One is Evil –  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

“The other is Good – It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

I don’t suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Some people are alive only because it’s illegal to kill them.

I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

I’m not a complete idiot — Some parts are just missing.

Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Consciousness: That annoying time between naps.

I smile because I don’t know what the hell is going on.

Happy fairy’s day!

Most of you have seen the up close version so here is the witch who did it — giggle

ze witch who done it and should you ask ; yes those are jars of preseved mushrooms behind me…  makes for a good back drop, don’t you think!

For something different, I started a SAL with Fudgey, Sharon, Vicky and others to do 20 stitches a day on the new Ink circles chart (Brambles and roses). Here is my start : Scan10087 Worked 1 over 1 on 30 ct Legacy Linen (white) with HDF silks (no name spools) the dark blue it is closest to hdf Mermaid blue 2331 while the other is a varigated and has some 3849 Jadeite mixed with aquamarine 2435 and 2437.

2 down and 1 to go

I have put down the 2nd start for the month and I am very pleased with the 2 days progress on this one. can you guess which haed She is tented 1 over 1 on 32 ct Lugana, Majestic (SMF). Anyone want to guess which chart this is?

Next up is an Ink circles chart that was published in the Gift of Stitching… I am going to print it out and then scrounge around for fabbie and silk.  Once that is settled, Rose is up next in the rotation.

There has been a serious lack of chocolate in my life so today Alberto and i spent a few hours in the production of some coffee chocolate, (my fav.) yummy… I got the job of cleaning up… a sucky job but someone has to do it and being brave, it feel to me… there is a tell tale smudge on my nose — grin.

One page down

I now have one full page of Claire’s Wings done (applause sound effects) Scan10019

and I feel justified in starting another chart… it is all kitted up. I have my fabric … SMF Majestic 32 ct Lugana and the floss all ready to go. Yes i know that there are some of you who are grinning widely from ear to ear and I admit to serial startitis but I am having fun and so there! (sticks out her tongue and giggles) 2 new starts for the month of June. Not saying what it is, you will have to wait or guess… the only hint is that it is a S. Fenech.

Off to put the first stitch into her…. (she skips away and waves)

I have this insane idea…

and this idea took root and grew, but I am getting ahead of myself. Let’s start at the beginning which was browsing the HDF site for silks trying to decide if I do Calypso in silk and/or fairy charity. I already decided that I am doing the Red ribbon sampler in silk using the gorgeous fugue blues. I have ordered some of the lovely Black forest linen in 32 ct from Lakeside linen after having been seduced by the scan done by the temptress supreme, Fudgeyof her work with that amazing colour combo. So… back to HDF… while there i peeking in at the bb and (gasp) read that there was a sale at Wasatch Needle Craft on their 45 ct Graziano. One thing lead to another and well…. I love working on small counts, I already have a wip on 40 ct 1 over 1… how bad could this be. Hmmmmm perhaps I can do a full sized HAED on it? Yes, there is a piece of ivory cream on it’s way to me now. Once I see it, I will decide what to do with it, a sampler or a HAED….

Speaking of HAED, I finished a page of Heart of the World (R Sanderson)   Scan10015 during my SAL with Paula last weekend and I started a new chart : Home is where the Cat is ( R. Sanderson) which is being done on a piece of 25 ct that I had in the deep dark recess of my closet (a bit too big for my liking but the size fit perfectly so I decided to use it… if I ever use this count again, it will be because I am blind)  I am doing 2 threads over 1, tented and have done a tad over 1700 stitches in it to date… it does not look like much yet but it is getting there. I hope that the next time it comes up in my rotation, there will be something to see other than a black and red blob.Scan10017

and last of all here is my update of my Wed. QS piece, the lovely Poppy Fairy by JBG … behold, her face is coming… coming…. coming… giggle Scan10084 and so ends another insane stitching period.

It’s a long wait till the next 5th week of the Month SAL….

and there are so few of them but i finally feel like this time I managed to make a dent in my progress. Scan10021 Just a reminder for those who need it… it is Rag Doll Fairy by Linda Ravenscroft and is  tented 1 over 1 on 32 ct Lugana from SMF Peach cobbler.

The thumb which got a beating on the weekend,  is now healed enough so that it will not leave any tell tale spots on my fabric so I am back with my needle… hurrah! I missed it for the past few days but at least the house got a good cleaning as a result, all the dust bunnies have been evicted! – grin. This weekend I shall be working on Heart of the world for my SAL with Paula and then Home is where the Heart is will get another few stitches. I have now organized my days so that I rotate with Rose or Poppy puss in the evening before lights out and the mornings and afternoons are dedicated to my crazy rotations. So far so good; Rose is getting her wings done (finally) and in the back of my mind i am dreaming (yes I know I dream a lot and in colour too!) of finishing one or both by the end of this year!  I can hear some chuckles coming from a few of you, even if it is muted.  I know you know exactly how hard it is to stay focused when there are so many new charts coming out. I laugh at myself each time I get a new chart but I think of it as a life insurance policy… the more I have to do the longer I have to live…. makes perfect sense to me so guess what I am going to do at the next sale????????????????????? giggle

A finish!

A finish, a finish…. I have a finish! Only you can not see it till Fairy Day… I made a promise but fudgey will show it to you all then. It turned out so well and now I have an emptly slot to fill in my rotation… I am on a kitty spree so I have now gotten “Home is where the heart is” in it’s spot.

No stitching atm… I sliced a part of my thumb off making a salad… yup, Blonde and a klutz too! It will heal quickly, I am certain of it, only it would be nice to be able to work with silks or DMC.
