Whimsy Stamps - Postal Minis and Floating Hearts

Hello there.  Several timely challenges and Valentine’s Day coming soon, resulted in this love card featuring the Postal Minis stamp set and Floating Hearts cover plate die purchased recently from Whimsy Stamps (WS).


The envelopes were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper, coloured/shaded with Copic Sketch markers (R27, C0/2), then fussy cut out.  Ran thhe cover plate through the die cutting machine next with an A2 size red panel.  Ink blended Victorian Velvet distress ink over a It’s Cloudy stencil on Bristol paper, then die cut out with a cloud border die.  Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink then heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder before assembling the card onto a white card base to finish.

Spellbinders - The Poet’s Garden

Hello everyone.  Meant to post a couple of birthday cards yesterday as one of them was for a friend whose birthday was yesterday 🫣, but better late than never!  These cards showcase the beautiful products from The Poet’s Garden collection released last month by Spellbinders (SB) in collaboration with Susan Tierney-Cockburn.  Susan is well knows for her realistic, very dimensional florals and has created video tutorials sharing how she does it.  Because I don’t have all the tools and want to keep my cards mailer-friendly, I went rogue to create my cards. 😂  First up is the card for my friends featuring the Wild Violet and Ladybugs die set.  Unfortunately, my set is missing the ladybug die… otherwise it would have been pretty cute to add them to the design. 


All pieces were die cut from Bristol paper then ink blended with Wilted Violet, Shabby Shutters, and/or Rustic Wilderness distress inks (DI).  Used a leftover white embossed black sentiment strip and a white “net” cutout from this Born to Dink post as a trellis.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, then added clear jewels to the violet centres to finish. 


My next card features the Clematis Poet die set. The Plaster embossed background here was also another extra fromthe same Born To Dink post.   The foiled sentiment from Birthday Sentiments was in my stash as well.  


All pieces were die cut from X-Press It paper then coloured with Copic Sketch markers before shaping them for some texture and dimension.

Simon Says Stamp - More Heart to Heart

Hello there.  I’m popping back in today to share a couple of simple friendships cards using more sweet products from the latest Heart to Heart release by Simon Says Stamp (SSS).  


First up is a CAS (clean and simple) pink monochromatic thank you card featuring the new Flourish Heart Trio die. 


The die is designed with three hearts arranged in a triangular pattern.  By flipping the die when die cutting across a Bristol panel, the negative cutouts resulted in a heart border.  The positive heart pieces were saved for a future project. To back the border opening, 1/4” strips were trimmed from white glitter paper and coloured with RV10/63/55 pink Copic Sketch markers.  The strip second from the top was left white. 


The cute Journal Jamboree kitty image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It paper next.  Coloured the kitty with C00/1/2 cool gray Copic Sketch markers and the heart with the same pink markers above before fussy cutting it out (this stamp set has coordinating dies).  Stamped the sentiment from Plaque Slides Love and Friendship using Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.  Assembled the card onto a white card base and added clear shimmer to the heart for an  all over sparkle to finish. 


Next is a heart tunnel card featuring Sweet Friendship stamp and Rounded Hearts die sets. 


Stamped, Copic coloured and fussy cutt out the image.  There are coordinating dies for this stamp sè as well.

For the heart tunnel background, three panels were trimmed from white to A2 size (would have used coloured cardstock, if I had the appropriate colours 🤷🏻‍♀️).  The top layer is white woodgrain paper while the next two layers are Bristol paper.  Die cut the corresponding hearts from them, then ink blended Worn Lipstick and Barn Door distress oxide inks on the two Bristol panels.  The darkest colour was achieved by ink blending Ruby Red dye and Black Soot distress inks directly onto the card base.  White heat embossed the sentiment on it, then assembled the card to finish.

Simon Says Stamp - Locket of Love

Hello everyone.  My products from this month’s Heart to Heart release at Sinn Says Stamp (SSS) came late (good old Canada Post  is in desperate need of a major overhaul!), so I’m arriving fashionably late to the party! 😂

 

I have a simple card to share featuring the Locket of Love stamp and stencil sets.  There is also a matching die set to complete the suite.  


This started out as a one layer panel, but then🤷🏻‍♀️… 

The locket was stamped with Memento London Fog ink onto Bristol paper.  Masked it to stamp the chain.  Removed the mask and used the stencils to add gradient colours of blue and grey dye inks.  Next, heat embossed the image with silver embossing powder (easier to stencil flat images).  Masked the image , including the chain, to work on the background and this was where I messed up.  


Rather than starting over, the image was fussy cut out.  Kept the background simple this time and ink blended the same blue dye inks on a small Bristol panel.  White heat embossed the sentiment from the new Plaque Slides Love and Friendship set.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, then added Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the heart to finish.

Spellbinders - Born to Dink

Hello there.  I’m popping in with a couple of “dill”ightful cards featuring the Born to Dink stamp/die set from the This is Life collection released this month by Spellbinders (SBj.  A very good friend plays pickleball, so I had to create this early birthday card for her.  


Scraps of solid cardstock (white, pinks, yellows, grays and black) were used to die cut out all the pieces (paddle, ball, net, hat)  The hat is from Birthday Wreath Add-On.  A strip was trimmed from white and shaded with gray dye ink for the top of the net. 


The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Bristol paper was spritz with water and dry embossed with the Plaster 3D embossing folder for ann icing/frosting background.  Arranged and assembled the card onto a white card base, then added a Peach Blush gems to the hat pom-pom to finish. 


My friend also met her boyfriend through pickleball, so I made this next card for her to give to him.. maybe for Valentine’s Day(?). 🤷🏻‍♀️ 


This was super easy.  The paddles were die cut from scraps of pattern paper in my stash.  The ball was die cut from lime cardstock and to give it dimension, Twisted Citron distress ink was ink blended on the back layer. 


Arranged and assembled the card onto a textured panel in my stash to finish.
