I Thought This Day Would Never Come

No more of this:
or this:
Ever since Boyd was 6 months old he started getting teeth. And they never stopped coming. I think the biggest break he ever got was 2 weeks. Unfortunately for all of us, Boyd and teething did not fair well. He didn't take very good naps, or sleep as long as I thought he should at night (waking up early no matter what time I put him down), he had at least two dirty diapers a day, along with diaper rash if it wasn't cared for in every diaper change, and lastly just a case of the grumpies on most days.
When he woke up from his (short) naps I would always try to hold him and get him to sleep a little longer. Recently, he started throwing tantrums. In the picture above, I was trying to cook and get something done for Young Women's later that night. After about 4 minutes of crying he decided to just laying down and then fell asleep.
But not any more. With the exception of his two year molars, Boyd has all of his teeth (as of last week). Since then, he's been taking better naps, and sleeping later into the morning. I attribute this to teething (as well as many prayers). I have decided that teething is terrible. Yes it can be a bit of a trial on the parents, but it's sad that it hurts and bothers the babies. They can't do any thing about it--they just have to endure it. Any ways, I'm just grateful that it is over for a time and that Boyd seems a bit happier lately.

Jackson & Mormon Row

Over the long weekend, Steve and Rachel came up from Provo and stayed with us!! We loved having them and miss living so close together! While they were here we stayed busy and had a great time.

At Uncle Roy's to fly in the power parachute.

This picture ended up being my favorite of the trip. I had retreated to the car to thaw my frozen toes (I was not wearing the right shoes). Rachel, Boyd, and I spent a good amount of time in the car because it was so cold. Any ways, Boyd was trying to give me a kiss from outside of the car and it was hilarious!

The Power Parachute

Roy and Steve preparing to take off. Unfortunately, it was too windy to do any more flights after Steve. But to be honest, it was so cold that I think I might have died if I would have gotten a turn and Phil and I have both been up before so it wasn't a big deal.

After that we drove down to Jackson Hole.

We stopped by Mormon Row where Phil's grandparents were raised.

Family Pictures under the Tetons.

Steve and Rachel.

The pink house where Grandpa Moulton grew up.

The outhouse.

Their barn is one of the most photographed barns in the U.S. and it's easy to see why with that backdrop.

We stopped by the Elk Refuge and thought about going out on a tour until we found out how much it cost. Looking at the elk for free from the road was good enough for us.

Big Horn Sheep
We saw all sorts of wildlife while we were there but these were my favorite. Steve brought his binoculars which made it even more fun.

Boyd had a great time playing with his aunt and uncle in the car.

Monday we spent some time playing at Grandma Moulton's.

Apparently I didn't get the memo that we would be sledding so I was unprepared with snow clothes. Luckily Phil had his old work overalls.... I don't think this day could have been any more white trash with my appearance and the activities we participated in.

Shooting.

Rigging up two sleds (two because they were both a little broken), behind the rhino, with some old knotted twine.

Surfing.
Phil also took a turn surfing and while he was, he spotted a little field mouse and scooped it up and tossed it a few feet so it was on top of the snow. Remy saw and was encouraged to try to get it, which she did. I really didn't think she would actually want to eat, but she would have if we didn't get after her. Let's just say the little field mouse got a little bop on it's head.

Shiner

A few weeks ago, Boyd got his first shiner. He was playing on the stairs and fell. Luckily he only made it down two stairs before I was able to get to him.

A few minutes after the fall--still recovering.

The next morning.

Finally, his black eye decided to take true form. We had temple recommend interviews that night and had to endure a few questions from the bishopric member. =) Thankfully, we still passed. Phew.
