Abstract

The three young philosophers Kevin Mulligan, Peter Simons, and Barry Smith have become well known in just a few years, especially among German-speaking analytic and phenomenological philosophers. This is due not only to their historical and systematic philosophical work, but also to their provocative way of advocating for their philosophy. Because they often appear as a trio, they are sometimes called the “Gang of Three” or—admiringly—”Mafiosi” (as Nicholas Rescher once put it).
