Abstract
Scientia et Vita Terra: Concept Bank in Earth and Life Science for Senior High School is a comprehensive instructional resource designed to support the K–12 Earth and Life Science curriculum for Senior High School learners. Developed to provide students with a strong foundational understanding of geoscience and biology, the book integrates essential scientific concepts with structured learning modules, experiential activities, and formative assessments. It traces the Earth’s history and structure, examines geological and atmospheric processes, and explores natural hazards and adaptive strategies, as presented in the Earth Science component.
The Life Science component covers the characteristics, origins, and classification of life; cellular processes; bioenergetics; genetics and reproduction; evolution; organismal survival mechanisms; plant biology; and ecological interactions. Each chapter includes “Experiential Learning Enhancers,” which encourage hands-on, inquiry-based activities and contextualized applications to promote deeper engagement and conceptual mastery. With over 80 hours of structured learning content, the book offers a sequential, outcomes-based approach aligned with national curriculum standards, making it a practical guide for both teachers and learners.
Overall, Scientia et Vita Terra serves as a complete concept bank that synthesizes key principles of Earth and Life Science into clear, organized, and student-friendly modules. It aims to strengthen scientific literacy, critical thinking, and environmental awareness among senior high school students through accessible explanations, visual enhancements, and real-world applications.
