Black in Physics Week
In the wake of the killing of George Floyd in 2020, a group of Black scientists, primarily in the US, organized the first of an annual week of events to celebrate and amplify the voices of Black physicists and to promote the development of supportive workplace environments. Since then, PT has partnered with the Black in Physics organization and Physics World to publish essays that share the stories of Black physical scientists, from graduate students to retirees.
Obituaries
Throughout its existence, PT has chronicled the passing of significant members of the physical sciences community. This archive is a combination of the obituaries that were curated and edited by PT staff for the print magazine through 2023 and community-submitted obituaries that have been published on the website since 2005.
