No one is born a great cook,
Julia Child
one learns by doing.
I am BG, a gourmet home cook for whom cooking has remained a labour of love and a source of happiness since childhood. But, as a male child in a conservative family, cooking was something I was not permitted to do. I used to sneak past my grandmother in the afternoons to experiment with ingredients and techniques, and relish it before getting caught. Itās funny to now reflect and see how to some like me, cooking was a forbidden fruit.
Today, two decades later, while balancing a career in the corporate world, Iāve decided to spend more time on my passion, and share it with the world. Over the years, Iāve come to realise that a lot of people appreciate food, but not many people spend enough time in appreciating the art of cooking, and the person behind the apron. In order to appreciate food, hunger is a prerequisite. I believe Iām a food connoisseur, not just for its taste, but also in terms of its smell and visual appeal, which enhances oneās accountability to the recipe. Iāll be talking about these a lot in my posts, along with some insanely mouth-watering recipes.
So show some love and spread the word, and together letās make some beautiful stories in my kitchen.
