Dani’s Digits

Dani's DigitsHappy Monday Everyone!  It’s time for a new challenge this week from Strawberry Singh!  I know this one had been done before but we all change right?  Maybe even if it’s a little bit.  I didn’t do this challenge before so this is my first one to show my digits.  It really is neat to show comparison to all the avatars out there.  Now we aren’t just comparing our digits but we’re comparing our proportions too!  There’s a few questions to answer and some of your digits to list!  You don’t have to list all of them if you don’t feel comfortable.  But I’m pretty secure with myself so I shared mine on my actual picture =D.  So here you go, no don’t forget to show yours next!

Proportions Challenge Questions:

  1. Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above? – I honestly never really thought about it before now.  I just made my shape how I liked to look at it in different outfits, etc.  I guess being a shape maker I should pay more attention to these huh?  But I mostly make what people want to see or what they are buying.
  2. What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar mesh? – I only dislike Mesh that doesn’t fit right.  Most mesh is made to fit standard avatars and my proportions are pretty standard so I don’t have a whole lot of problems.
  3. Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all? – Honestly most of the time I don’t even see it because there are so many shapes out there of all sizes and proportions.  Sometimes if it stands WAY WAY out I might be like “woah”, but most of the time its interesting to see how people style their proportions.
  4. Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average? No, I don’t.  This is Second Life and you can be what you want and who you want and how you want.  So kudos to those to step way out there and try new things.

There’s a First for Everything

FirstHai lovelies!  It’s that time of week again and time for another Meme challenge, brought to you by the amazing and lovely Strawberry Singh.  This week’s Meme focuses on SL firsts.  So there will be 10 questions you can copy and paste too, where we spill our firsts!  I mean there’s a first for everything right?  Don’t be shy.  Just do it!  I hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

  1. First SL Friend: My First actual SL friend was Lamia Rajal.  This was back in October/November of 2008.  She is now Brooklynn Frostbite and she’s been my friend ever since.  We exchanged numbers, and even met in RL. Come to find out we lived 3 hours from each other. She’s now one of my best friends.  So my first SL friend turned out to be a keeper!
  2. First SL Kiss: Gosh he went by Dave. I don’t remember his full name but I found out he was married in RL and I didn’t kiss him after that LOL!
  3. First SLex time/place/partner: Is it bad that I don’t remember the name?  I think it was in a “coughs” dungeon “coughs again”.
  4. First SL Partner/Girlfriend/Boyfriend/Wife/Husband: My first SL boyfriend was chrisjoker Lemon.  I met him at a Karaoke place called Social Sands, where I later became a host myself.  We dated for a couple of months til I met someone else.  The next actual BF that lasted a while was Damien Silverweb.  That ended in a mess but everything happens for a reason right?   The first person I actually partnered is my current husband (fiance in RL), Brayden Thirdborn. We’ve had two SL weddings,  And through a couple of hills and bumps, we still are together and are getting married in RL next June.
  5. First SL Job: I was a stripper at a club called O-2 Blue.  We didn’t take all of our clothes off though, just everything but our bottoms.  That’s when I figured out how to emote and make good tips LOL.  That didn’t last long though.  It was just too weird.
  6. First SL Creation: Honestly it was a table, and it didn’t look like a table, and well I never really built anything after that.  The only creation that I make now is Shapes.
  7. First Encounter with a Linden: Gosh this one I don’t really know.  I didn’t even know who the Lindens were when I first started.  So I think the first encounter was on a game sim once when I was trying to buy a greedy table.  I saw one and got so nervous and then just tped out.  I think that was around 2009/2010.
  8. First Encounter with a SLebrity: Hmm.  This is a tough one.  I think I’ve probably drank and slept since then.  I don’t know who you’d consider an SLebrity but at the time I think Mandoaa Dragonash was probably one of the first ones.  He used to be really big into the music scene all over.  That was at the end of 2008 beginning of 2009.
  9. First SL Sim you fell in love with: The sim I first fell in love with no longer exists but it was the sim I lived on for free for about 6 months when I started playing SL.  My best friend and I (Brook), both lived there. We got our, what we thought was high class house, back then and set it all up.  We didn’t have limited prims and we just lived for fun.  The sim was set up like a tropical island and it was so pretty.  I was sad to see it go but I guess that happens when the owner doesn’t  pay for it anymore.  The name of it was perfect though.  It was called Heavens Lost.
  10. First SL Blog Post: I’m not a very old blogger.  But when I first started blogging it was with my good friend, Addy, and we were known as the Pixelannies, for those of you who didn’t know where I came from..  My post is kinda rusty so be gentle!  Here it is!  FIRST BLOG POST

Scootin’ Around with Pinky

Sooooo it’s time to Bust Out of My Bubble a little and do a post with a newly found friend of mine, Ms. Pinky Villota.  Even though this was for a challenge, Pinky and I have found out we have a lot in common.  I mean for one we love the color pink.  And we just like to have fun!  And what is just too cool is that even though we hadn’t met in SL yet we kept bumping into each other =D.

Like for instance we were both chosen as bloggers for the Pose Fair this year so we were both shopping for new poses, and we were like you know what we should do our post with some of the awesomeness from the fair.  So I went home rezzed this adorable pink scooter, from Lost Angel Poses, which this one has friends poses on it, and said hey lets dress for Spring and snap some pics!  I let Pinky drive cause she told me she has a pink scooter in RL so I figured she’d probably be better at driving so I didn’t run us into a tree.

Dani Goes Social

SocialMEMESoooooo I’m so excited it’s time for a new challenge!  The oh so sweet and beautiful Strawberry Singh has posted yet another fun one!  It’s called Social Meme.  I’m pretty social media addicted also so this will be a fun one if I can just remember which one’s I have haha!  Now we can all awkwardly stalk each other!  And you better do this one too!  So here it goes….Get ready….. What was the first social network you joined using your SL Avatar?
I created a Flickr when I first created this avatar.  Let me go look for my join date.  This was before I started blogging but it appears to be July 2011.

Which social networks are you currently on using your SL Avatar?

Which network is your favorite?
Probably Plurk and Flickr.  I love how random people are on Plurk and I’m addicted at looking at all the pretty pictures on Flickr.

Which network is your least favorite?
Probably Twitter because I’m still trying to figure it out.  It just seems so random but I’m getting the hang of it.  I don’t really get Google + either but I’m sure one day I’ll grasp it if I can find the time to spend on it lol.

Which network do you have the most amount of connections?
Well let me look.  I’m going to say probably Facebook and Flickr

How/Where do you usually read/use most of your networks?
I’d say probably on my laptop or my iPad.

What are your favorite social networking apps? (if applicable)
On my iPhone, probably I’d say Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.  I also have a WordPress app I used too to manage my blog if I’m too lazy to get up lol.

What do you like most about social networking sites?
The blog updates, the random information and statuses everyone shares, and just being able to make friends and being social so I don’t become a hermit haha!

What do you like least about social networking sites?
I don’t really dislike much.  Probably just the negativity because I hate being down and sometimes it affects me too especially if it’s a good friend or if it affects a large crowd.  But for the most part I don’t let much bother me =D.  I’m a pretty happy random person most of the time.

Do you feel social networks are a good way to promote you/your brand/your work? 
It can be.  It also depends on how you display yourself or whether you use it to communicate or just spam stuff.  I think if you are personal with some and you interact, it makes it much better.

What is your main reason for using Social Networks?
Well I’ll be honest here and say it did start as JUST promoting, but I’ve developed a liking for interacting with everyone and looking at watching what’s going on.  It’s a way to yet keep in touch and not just spam anymore =D.  I love making new friends and learning more about them so I’m pretty much, I’d say, addicted to it haha.  I’d probably die if I didn’t have Plurk.  I’d have no entertainment =P.

Procrastination Dani-nation

Today’s first blog post is another challenge called Procrastination: MeMe, inspired by the one and only Strawberry Singh.  I kinda like these challenges so hey let’s do another one!  This time Berry wants us to procrastinate.  Not that I’m not already the biggest procrastinator there is.  Why do today what you can do tomorrow, eh?  So below are 10 questions we were challenged to answer so you can see mine below.  I better see you all do these too!

  1. What is the rez date for your current SL Avatar that you use most often?  DanicaSaerwen Resident – Rez Date 06/25/2011  (I have been in SL for over 4 years but this is my most current and avatar I use most.  I explained reasoning in the last challenge hehe)
  2. Where was the first place you made friends as a newb and got to know people in Second Life?  Well a RL friend of mine introduced me to SL and I think the first few places I made friends were at a Strip Club named 0-2 Blue, which I later worked at haha.  Yes I worked at an SL strip club.
  3. Where do you spend most of your SL time now?  Standing somewhere random, like at home or where ever I’m covering an event for Seraphim.
  4. Who is your closest friend in Second Life? (only pick one)  I’m cheating because I don’t have just one.  My SL hubby and RL fiance Brayden Thirdborn, my SL daughter Cadence Fiona Thirdborn, and my friends, Vixen Thibedeau, Liane Boomhauer, Qopi Resident, Brooklynn Frostbite,  Adrienne Walpole, and Ariadenise Bellic.
  5. What is the most favorite thing in your inventory? (only pick one)  ummmmm well, let’s see.  Out of 106K of inventory my favorite thing would have to be…….. ATM it would have to be my eyes. I’m totally in love with Mayfly eyes and this color is my absolute favorite.
  6. The last thing you purchased in Second Life?  New Mesh N-Core Delicous Shoes in Black
  7. What color clothing does your avatar wear most often?  White, Black, Pink or Turquoise.
  8. Do you prefer to walk, run or fly?  I usually walk or fly.  I normally hate my SL run.
  9. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in SL?   Gosh I’ve done too many crazy things to count.  Probably the time I got a Vampire HUD and went around biting noobs at nude beaches.  Or the time I dressed as a tiny and went to random clubs to mess with people.

7 Facts About Dani

7FactsSo I was reading plurk today and I came across a challenge from Strawberry Singh’s Blog.  The Challenge is called  “My Seven SL Facts Meme”.  I’ve never really done a challenge so I figured what the heck, I should do it.  So you wanna know a little bit about me, well,  I’ll tell ya.

My SL Fact #1 :

I’ve been in SL for over 4 years, this is like my 3 avi.  I get into relationships and if it ends on bad terms, well I feel that the avatar is tainted, so I go make a new one.  Yeah I’m weird but that’s ok!  No worries though.  I’m happy now and this one isn’t going anywhere =D

My SL Fact #2: 

I have a hair and skin addiction and I have a hard time parting with either. So, just recently my inventory has reached 103K and this avatar is only about a year and a half old  *Facepalms*

My SL Fact #3:

I have random styles.  I know most people stick to one style but depending on my mood or what not I will style anything from gothic, to normal, to high fashion, to random, etc.

My SL Fact #4:

I’m a gesture whore.  If you see me inworld, I probably have a gesture for anything and everything I do or say.

My SL Fact #5:

I made my own shape, and I refuse to change it.  I have a little shop on Marketplace called Dani & Co., and I make shapes for friends if they ask =)

My SL Fact #6:  

I have an SL family, in which we live on a 1/4 of a sim.  My SL hubby (whom I met in SL)  is also my RL fiance, and my SL daughter is one of my really close friends.

My SL Fact #7:

I don’t wear panties under my dresses or skirts.  Not that I don’t want to, just that I always forget.  So the only time I wear them is if I’m wearing lingerie or blogging it.
