Throwback Thursdays – 2015 – Winter Halo

***Special Note – This was another post that just never made it up on the blog, which had some rather nice shots already done up. I even wrote the whole thing up, just never coded it. Not sure why. This baby was from March 2015.***

I have been wearing this outfit on and off for a bit now, and just been putting it off to the side, to post other things. I am not feeling that well today, so it was an easy decision to post this up. No hard work needed.

My friend longtime friend, Ruina Kessel, owner of Devae(House of Ruin and Rue), created this interesting Halo. I have to admit to not having a clue what event she originally created it for.

I got the last of the Limited Editions up for this hair, on SL Marketplace, so it is finally available for the general public. This is one of my favorite hairs, which is why I wear it so often. It is also one from my personal unreleased collection, hence why it is limited, and was never slated for the store.

I am getting a lot of new traffic, so you all may not know me. I am a lover of colour, so while I do tread more on the goth/punk/alternative side of things, I have never been one to just wear black. I enjoy creations from Adoness for this reason. Not only do most of the items work with my hair colours, but there is a variety of colours, depending on what the item is. This long winter coat is a fine example, pairing red and purple is not something most designers would do. The fact that it is a floral print to boot, well, I could not stay away, haha.

I also have some eyes from Chop Shop on, these call to my demony side. Hypnotic and gloomy.

Monday Eyeful – Madame Noir

This week on Monday Eyeful,I am showing you a discounted eye pack, that was out over the weekend for the Manly Weekend Sales Group. When I went to grab my slurl for the store, it was still discounted, as of this post, so might be worth it to hurry over to nab it.

While I might not be a male, I do have to dress up as one for ads, and yes go both ways, you really can’t make an eye that strictly looks manly. I always check the list for that reason. I’ve picked up a few packs from this store so far, from Manly Weekend.

The current offering from Madame Noir is called Moncho Eyes.

Hair Fair 2016 – To Dance with Familiars

One of my favorite things is to take fantasy elements and try to make them work for my ethnic looks. I get saddened when I see written content, blatantly stating that certain genres of characters should only be of certain body types and skin tones. I will admit, that before coming an official blogger for the Medieval & Fantasy Grid Crier group, my styles fell in 3 categories. Modern, Bumble Bee/Panda or Drow. When I was a drow, I was often the dark ashen skin colour. My Bumble Bee and Panda Girl looks were always with my regular dark toned skin. I will admit that I would go ethnically asian every once in a while. There was one skin maker in particular that I enjoyed, so would get her stuff for kicks every once in a while. I don’t tend to like looking at the traditional geisha looks on dark skin, that does seem really odd to me. I will wear other asian inspired clothing as I normally am though.

This is just random blabbery, for no particular reason. I haven’t been bashed or anything.

I took these shots at one of my favorite places in second life. It’s called The Outer Garden, and they just completed a reworking of 2 of their garden levels. So I decided to go exploring. I fell in love with this one little area off the main track, and decided to do a mini, on location shoot for today’s post.

Adoness is at Hair Fair this year, with 3 new styles. I chose to show you my favorite of the selections, which made me feel all warrior woman. It is a mixed mesh style, with the braid being rigged, but the upper part of the hair being modifiable, which is super nice if you like wearing mesh heads. I just used the default shaved hairbase in the hud of my Catwa head, and tinted it to make sense with the hair.

A portion of all hairs sold at Hair Fair go to Wigs for Kids, so even if you don’t pick up this Adoness style, it is worth it to take a browse of the whole event.

Monday Eyeful – Nelly Eyes by Arise

This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you a discounted event pack from the Buy Now sale. Arise is taking part in this new project, for how much longer Buy Now will be around, I am not sure. There is currently some drama going on in the designer/event organizer realm of the event. I am not sure how many more round there will be. For now, you can visit the event in a very simple fashion, all you do is visit SL Marketplace, then type in “Buy Now” in search. All the participants will pop up(along with some other random stuff).

The current offering from Arise are called Nelly Eyes.

Monday Eyeful – Queen Eyes by Mudskin

This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you another find from We Love Roleplay. Mudskin has created a series of eyes, which have some very unique light shines I have not seen done before on an sl eye.

They are called Queen Eyes.

Adoness is at Flower Power, an event bringing you the newest fashions for the upcoming spring season. Monday Eyeful – Medusa Eyes by Inkheart

On this week’s Monday Eyeful, I am showing you a nice little affordable eye store, that caters to all sorts of genres in sl.

There are classic eyes as well as some more otherworldly, and everything in between. Inkheart seems very community driven, being active in events and hunts. There is a generous nature to the designer, and the price points work for those on a budget, to those who can afford a little bit more.

These are called Medusa, which I felt was aptly named.

They are priced L$49 per pair. System and Mesh versions are included in each pack. There are 3 Iris sizes to choose from, included in each pack.

I enjoy wearing my Kissers mesh mouth for these Eyeful posts, as it really does add a little flare to my face, and is just fun for me in general. I get to show off the newly released Kisser Doll Lips today, these being the vampire version. There are 2 others, to match the other lines, which are Orc and Open.

Some of us still prefer to have our own personal look, and not have the face of a million. While mesh heads are lovely, there isn’t as many options for us males of Second Life.

A way to get around this, but keep current to the SL trends, it to wear mesh parts, which allow for the customization of the default male head.

Soul helps us with this, with their line of mesh mouths. The Kissers have a strong following with the ladies of the grid, but until recently, not as many males. This was due to lack of options, but never fear, Soul has heard your pleas, and have a bunch of new Kissers options at the current round of We ❤ Roleplay.

I am wearing the Eros Vampire Kisser. There is also an Orc and Open Mouth Kissers(sold individually) at the event. The Kissers recently had a huge update, with many changes to their system. They are now functioning fully on the Omega Script System, as well as accent layers in the hud, which allow you to add additional elements to your Kisser. Now, I normally don’t doctor my photos, I try to take the best inworld shots I can, and this has worked for me for many years. Today I did do a bit of playing, and I need to talk about it. You can see this wonderful tattoo on my face. It is from Fallen Gods Inc, and is called Hades.

Now here is the thing, while it does have the Omega Applier, I don’t think it was meant to work with the Kissers. I couldn’t get it to work, it might be that the applier is only meant for the torso, or mesh heads that have a tattoo layer. I have to admit to not using the Omega system all that often, so I could have bungled it up.

I really wanted to wear the tattoo with this outfit, for these shots, so I doctored in the missing lines, over my Kissers mouth. You can see in the first shot, I did not do any doctoring, so there is a whole section to the tattoo missing. I just didn’t want to do any false advertising. So both products work wonderfully, just not how I have styled them. The most likely cause of this is that the newest update to the Kissers has it’s own Omega Supported System, which people have to pick up a creators kit for. So the Kissers, though they use Omega, still are a little different than the general Omega scripts.

I really liked this outfit, and had some time while leisurely eating lunch, so I thought I would post it up. Sometimes it is nice not shooting on location. I think I took 2 minutes to get about 10 shots, crop and put into my blogging template.

Uncomplicated things are a bonus for me today.

PixyStix is going through a rebrand right now, turning their store into simply Stix. They are going to be handling their Event Items a bit differently as well, to make the items more special. You are only going to have 2 weeks after events, to pick up items, before they get retired. This in a sense makes all event items made for Stix, Limited Edition.

The direction of the brand seems to be changing a bit too. I like the new ad look, I just hope she keeps with alternative tones along with the regular skin tones. The new looks seems very mainstream, which I don’t say as a bad thing, I just hope the store stays the store I love.
