Monday Eyeful – Eye Effects by Birth

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Monday Eyeful - Eye Effects by Birth

This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you eye effects from Birth. Not many designers make things that augment your eyes, but I really do enjoy the ones I end up randomly finding.

These are from Birth called Glimmer Eye System. You need the base system to be able to use the Eye Effects.

They are priced at L$150 per pack of 2 Effects, with 2 packs to collect. When I say 2 Effects, I mean the Type is the same, but you get one animation that is already coloured, and the other is a tintable version.

I ended up taking Some Gyazo Gifs of the effects, so you can see what they do, as pictures don’t do them justice. Also, it really is much cooler inworld live.

The one this I really like about the base system, is there is a BOM set included, so I am actually wearing my own eyes, Shifting Sands, which are what the effects are layered on top of.  The best part about the base system, is you have pupil options. My Shifting Sands eyes are pupiless, so this allows me to change the look of my own creation, adding pupils, changing their size, adding shine type, then putting the effects on top.

This really means you can end up with so many options for eyes in your collection. This system, and it’s addon effects, can really help you make your look unique. I normally start my look with my eyes, and go from there, and now I can really make them the centerpiece of my who ensemble.

Monday Eyeful – Fairytale Eyes by Lotus

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Monday Eyeful - Lotus
This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you eyes from Lotus. This is a new to me store, I am not sure if they were around when I was still inworld before, or just not on my radar, but I found them at The Arcade, with this Gacha offer.

These are from Lotus called Fairytale Eyes.

They are priced at L$69 per play, and there is currently no Megapack option. Unrigged Mesh, BOM, Catwa, Lelutka and Genus Appliers are included in the pack.

 LOTUS x THE ARCADE

I feel the eyes are a good size, especially with the trend of squinty eyed mesh heads. The ranges are great, I love options, and all the gachas are similar in the fact that there are a lot of colours.

Lotus makes a lot of gachas, but they do have regular Eye packs, which I think are very reasonably priced. You get around 8-10 eye colours for L$179. Read the vendors as some packs are only for certain heads and eye types.

Right now there is a little sale going on, for how long, I don’t know, but some of the gachas are set to L$20 per play, Two for Unrigged Mesh Eyes and one with Catwa, Lelutka and Unrigged Mesh. There is also some discounted eye packs, if you want to see if you enjoy the eyes, before you start going ham on the store. There are some discounted non eye related gacha things too. Not sure for how long, the notice went out April 4th.

Hair Fair 2016 – To Dance with Familiars

LadyLight Koolhoven - Pixel Mythos - To Dance with Familiars - 1

One of my favorite things is to take fantasy elements and try to make them work for my ethnic looks. I get saddened when I see written content, blatantly stating that certain genres of characters should only be of certain body types and skin tones. I will admit, that before coming an official blogger for the Medieval & Fantasy Grid Crier group, my styles fell in 3 categories. Modern, Bumble Bee/Panda or Drow. When I was a drow, I was often the dark ashen skin colour. My Bumble Bee and Panda Girl looks were always with my regular dark toned skin. I will admit that I would go ethnically asian every once in a while. There was one skin maker in particular that I enjoyed, so would get her stuff for kicks every once in a while. I don’t tend to like looking at the traditional geisha looks on dark skin, that does seem really odd to me. I will wear other asian inspired clothing as I normally am though.

This is just random blabbery, for no particular reason. I haven’t been bashed or anything.

LadyLight Koolhoven - Pixel Mythos - To Dance with Familiars - 2

I took these shots at one of my favorite places in second life. It’s called The Outer Garden, and they just completed a reworking of 2 of their garden levels. So I decided to go exploring.  I fell in love with this one little area off the main track, and decided to do a mini, on location shoot for today’s post.

Adoness is at Hair Fair this year, with 3 new styles. I chose to show you my favorite of the selections, which made me feel all warrior woman. It is a mixed mesh style, with the braid being rigged, but the upper part of the hair being modifiable, which is super nice if you like wearing mesh heads. I just used the default shaved hairbase in the hud of my Catwa head, and tinted it to make sense with the hair.

A portion of all hairs sold at Hair Fair go to Wigs for Kids, so even if you don’t pick up this Adoness style, it is worth it to take a browse of the whole event.
