Monday Eyeful – Eye Effects by Birth

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Monday Eyeful - Eye Effects by Birth

This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you eye effects from Birth. Not many designers make things that augment your eyes, but I really do enjoy the ones I end up randomly finding.

These are from Birth called Glimmer Eye System. You need the base system to be able to use the Eye Effects.

They are priced at L$150 per pack of 2 Effects, with 2 packs to collect. When I say 2 Effects, I mean the Type is the same, but you get one animation that is already coloured, and the other is a tintable version.

I ended up taking Some Gyazo Gifs of the effects, so you can see what they do, as pictures don’t do them justice. Also, it really is much cooler inworld live.

Glimmer Eyes by Birth – Standard Effect that comes with the base system

100% RFL Charity Spellbook Effect by Birth – Coloured Effect Version

100% RFL Charity Firehands Effect by Birth – Coloured Effect Version

The one this I really like about the base system, is there is a BOM set included, so I am actually wearing my own eyes, Shifting Sands, which are what the effects are layered on top of.  The best part about the base system, is you have pupil options. My Shifting Sands eyes are pupiless, so this allows me to change the look of my own creation, adding pupils, changing their size, adding shine type, then putting the effects on top.

This really means you can end up with so many options for eyes in your collection. This system, and it’s addon effects, can really help you make your look unique. I normally start my look with my eyes, and go from there, and now I can really make them the centerpiece of my who ensemble.

Crystals!!!

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Crystals

Very rarely do I blog in the H&G category. I actually have never had a home in sl, prims are precious. Even with the 2 sims, and all the mainland I have, I just always thought it was silly to waste the prims on a home.

I do have urges every once in a while, and sometimes things are just too cool to pass up. That is what these huge Crystals are for me. Something really cool, that I wanted, and didn’t care if I had a place for them. I will eventually put one out at my store desk, or in my work station(which is where I photographed these).

CELESTE - Crystal Clusters

If you want some random crystals for yourself, then you have to head on down to Ostara’s Alter Event. These are the New and Exclusive item from Celeste.

If you are up to a slight, not so challenging challenge, there is this really cool globe thing, that Celeste has out for their Hunt item. It is only L$5, and the eggs in the hunt are rather huge and easy to find.

Celeste - Globe

If you would like to see what else is at the event, there is a wonderful gallery, with all exclusives, plus all the L$5 Hunt items.

Crystals – Celeste – Gradient Crystals in Green 1, Aqua 2 and Yellow 3 – *NEW & Exclusive* @ Ostara’s Alter Event until April 19th

The numbers correspond to the configuration of the crystals, not so much to the sizes. Or that is the way it seems to me. They are Copy/Mod, so you can change the sizes anyway.

Monday Eyeful – Fruit Punch Eyes by Demicorn

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Monday Eyeful - Fruit Punch Eyes by Demicorn

This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you eyes from Demicorn. This is a new to me store, I am not sure if they were around when I was still inworld before, or just not on my radar, but I found them while doing one of the ever popular weekend sales lists.

These are from Lotus called Fruit Punch Eyes.

They are priced at L$599 per pack of 5, with 3 packs to collect, and the Megapack is L$999. System/BOM, Omega, Catwa and Genus Appliers are included in the pack.

Demicorn Fruit Punch Eyes

I am actually wearing just the system eyes with this head from Dream. The iris is a little large, but I don’t mind the look with this alieneque thing I have going on.

Now, I bought these during Secret Sale Sundays, so they were L$50 for the Megapack at the time. I would suggest if you like the look of these, to come on by the store, get a few gachas, other offerings, see about the quality. Join the subscriber, so you can get notices on other deals. I understand Eye designers are pricing their eyes at about L$100 per applier on average, so when things get bundled, prices go up. I don’t think the price is unfair, but as an eye collector, who buys multiple eyes in a week, from various stores, I like to keep enough money to go around.

This designer is really generous though, and does put things on sale from time to time, so again, click that subscriber.

I am also wearing this really unique skin from Stargazer. I was there recently, checking on the store. I have a list of stores I use to shop at, from before my absence, so over the last month and a half, I have been trying to visit a few here and there, to see if they are still around. Stargazer obviously is, and seems to be doing well!

On my visit I came across a little alcove, which has various discounted deals. This skin was up for L$99 for group members(Free to Join). And while I normally wouldn’t but anything with pink, it was so interesting, I couldn’t pass it up.

It is actually a full on avi pack, more than just a skin. There are 11 face versions, with different body types. The skin also comes in plain pink as well as the faded pink and green. You get eyes, nail appliers, ears, alien head bits, wings and other things??? I might be missing something, but there is a lot in the pack. For L$99, you really can’t go wrong. Fantasy Faire is on the way, and if you don’t normally do something more out there with your skin tones, this is a great way to get started!

Monday Eyeful – Fairytale Eyes by Lotus

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Monday Eyeful - Lotus
This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you eyes from Lotus. This is a new to me store, I am not sure if they were around when I was still inworld before, or just not on my radar, but I found them at The Arcade, with this Gacha offer.

These are from Lotus called Fairytale Eyes.

They are priced at L$69 per play, and there is currently no Megapack option. Unrigged Mesh, BOM, Catwa, Lelutka and Genus Appliers are included in the pack.

 LOTUS x THE ARCADE

I feel the eyes are a good size, especially with the trend of squinty eyed mesh heads. The ranges are great, I love options, and all the gachas are similar in the fact that there are a lot of colours.

Lotus makes a lot of gachas, but they do have regular Eye packs, which I think are very reasonably priced. You get around 8-10 eye colours for L$179. Read the vendors as some packs are only for certain heads and eye types.

Right now there is a little sale going on, for how long, I don’t know, but some of the gachas are set to L$20 per play, Two for Unrigged Mesh Eyes and one with Catwa, Lelutka and Unrigged Mesh. There is also some discounted eye packs, if you want to see if you enjoy the eyes, before you start going ham on the store. There are some discounted non eye related gacha things too. Not sure for how long, the notice went out April 4th.

Monday Eyeful – Oculos Eyes by Soul

Helena Stringer - Pixel Mythos - Monday Eyeful - Soul

This week on Monday Eyeful, I am showing you eyes from Soul. These aren’t new by any means, but sometimes blogging isn’t about showing what is new, but what you truly love. There was also an oops though. I had originally done another shot, using newer eyes, only to find out they were not in the new store at the moment. Haha, I guess that one is on the bck burner until they come out again. So this is the sudden backup post!

These are from Soul called Oculos Eyes.

They are priced at L$199 per pair, or you can grab a Megapack for L$2,999. Unrigged Mesh, System, Omega and Genesis Lab Appliers are included in the pack.

2016_Soul_Oculos_Eyes_AD_ALL

I own about 4 of these, and they are all lovely and well made.

I am also wearing another not new item, but one I’ve enjoyed often in the past, which is this skin by Plastik. It works well with several BOM enabled head I own, so I thought I’d throw this into the post as well. I like to be rather pale when I am human toned, and this skin is one of the few human toned skins from Plastik that I like to wear more often. It is a good one for layering makeups on, as it is a great plain base. I also think the lips look great on their own, and I find that lacking sometimes, with basic human toned skins.

Throwback Thursdays – 2015 – Winter Halo

***Special Note – This was another post that just never made it up on the blog, which had some rather nice shots already done up. I even wrote the whole thing up, just never coded it. Not sure why. This baby was from March 2015.***

1

I have been wearing this outfit on and off for a bit now, and just been putting it off to the side, to post other things. I am not feeling that well today, so it was an easy decision to post this up. No hard work needed.

My friend longtime friend, Ruina Kessel, owner of Devae(House of Ruin and Rue), created this interesting Halo. I have to admit to not having a clue what event she originally created it for.

2

I got the last of the Limited Editions up for this hair, on SL Marketplace, so it is finally available for the general public. This is one of my favorite hairs, which is why I wear it so often. It is also one from my personal unreleased collection, hence why it is limited, and was never slated for the store.

I am getting a lot of new traffic, so you all may not know me. I am a lover of colour, so while I do tread more on the goth/punk/alternative side of things, I have never been one to just wear black. I enjoy creations from Adoness for this reason. Not only do most of the items work with my hair colours, but there is a variety of colours, depending on what the item is. This long winter coat is a fine example, pairing red and purple is not something most designers would do. The fact that it is a floral print to boot, well, I could not stay away, haha.

I also have some eyes from Chop Shop on, these call to my demony side. Hypnotic and gloomy.
