Baptists Are Like Communists

ED MORRISSEY: Biden’s Praise For China’s One-Child Policy: So Much For Being “Pro-Choice.” “Women in China have no choice over their bodies. The state enforces its policy with a totalitarian regime that requires IUDs, aborts children, and tortures and maim women who attempt to exercise choice.”

Silly Ed. These are communists. It’s okay when communists take away your choices. It’s only bad when Baptists take away your choices.

GM Takes A Great Leap Forward

Government Motors celebrates the Chinese Communist Party. Really.

In late 2010, General Motors agreed to sponsor a propaganda film celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The CCP made film titled (translated to English) “The Birth of a Party” or “The Great Achievement of Founding the Party" is set to premiere all over the Communist nation on June 15 reported China AutoWeb last September.
You can't make this stuff up.

Finger Attack

According to Hill Buzz this little bit of excitement happened on 27 Feb. 2011 in Atlanta. Be sure to note the flier at the end of the video that shows who else attended the rally in support of the workers right to rip off other workers who don't work for government. And also for the right of the teachers to get ripped off by their own union. This is called the Iron Rice Bowl theory of government employment. The "workers" vs the people if you will. If we could get the "workers" agitated by the corruption of their own union we might begin to get some where.

As Vanderleun says: Father Do Not Forgive Them. They Know Damn Well What They Do. They sure do.

Socons Don't Need Libertarians

I have been seeing that sentiment around the 'net quite a lot lately. Interesting.

I'm hoping for a test of that fact in 2012. If Huckabee wins the nomination I intend to vote and agitate against him (for Obama if he runs - I've done it before see Obama vs Keyes).

The outcome of such an election would be a fair test of the idea that "Socons Don't Need Libertarians".

Let me note that when the test was made in Illinois in 2004, Keyes (the Socon) got less than 60% of the number of votes that Bush got in that election. Of course I was agitating against Keyes - which may have had something to do with it.

I consider myself allied with social conservatives to right the country (in Naval terms - counter flooding), but my allegiance is not blind. I will vote for some one I don't much care for (McCain) to defeat the economic socialists. I will not vote for someone I detest. As I said in my Obama vs Keyes post, I voted for "for the Communist over the Socon". Why? Well C.S. Lewis put it best:

Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber barons cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. - Clive Staples "CS" Lewis
The persuasion of Jesus is better than the sword of Rome. If you are trying to get votes.

Serve The People

Eric of Classical Values and I have been having an e-mail discussion of management styles provoked in part by his article on Chairman Mao: Proudly emulating the bold and imaginative attitude of Chairman Mao!

My attitude was to always treat those below me with the same attitude I treated those above me. Respect. Because good results depend on every one on the team. Or as an American philosopher put it:

“The society which scorns excellence in plumbing because plumbing is a humble activity, and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because philosophy is an exalted activity, will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy. Neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water.” — John W. Gardner, Saturday Evening Post, December 1, 1962

Chairman Mao was not the only one to see that a fundamental respect for others was necessary to make an organization work. Sadly the Chairman got carried away with the privileges of power and bad philosophy. Leading him to kill at least 50 million Chinese. The movie The Last Emperor is an excellent look at the Empire of Mao.

Which leads us to another dying empire. The American auto industry. Or as I currently prefer: Government Motors and Crisis Motors.

Everyone knew Detroit's reputation for insular, slow-moving cultures. Even by that low standard, I was shocked by the stunningly poor management that we found, particularly at GM, where we encountered, among other things, perhaps the weakest finance operation any of us had ever seen in a major company.
But that is only the money. What about their attitude towards the people producing the cars?
The cultural deficiencies were equally stunning. At GM's Renaissance Center headquarters, the top brass were sequestered on the uppermost floor, behind locked and guarded glass doors. Executives housed on that floor had elevator cards that allowed them to descend to their private garage without stopping at any of the intervening floors (no mixing with the drones).
And that is the essence of the problem. They never practiced management by walking around. Finding out what was actually going on and fixing things. They never liked the peasants. Reminding me of the old joke: Courtier to the King: "The peasants are revolting." King to the Courtier: "Yes they are." There is an identity there. As in congruency.

As Mao once knew. If you don't serve the people you can not succeed.

And Michelle Obama? All she wanted was a few servings of leafy greens.
Let's say you're preparing dinner and you realize with dismay that you don't have any certified organic Tuscan kale. What to do?

Here's how Michelle Obama handled this very predicament Thursday afternoon:

The Secret Service and the D.C. police brought in three dozen vehicles and shut down H Street, Vermont Avenue, two lanes of I Street and an entrance to the McPherson Square Metro station. They swept the area, in front of the Department of Veterans Affairs, with bomb-sniffing dogs and installed magnetometers in the middle of the street, put up barricades to keep pedestrians out, and took positions with binoculars atop trucks. Though the produce stand was only a block or so from the White House, the first lady hopped into her armored limousine and pulled into the market amid the wail of sirens.
Andrew Monaghan thinks this shows more than a minor disconnect from the "little people".
I ask my readers to consider one thing: What mindset must one be in to block traffic during rush hour (in Washington DC of all places!) in an attempt to satiate your craving for certified organic Tuscan Kale?

Here's the answer: One must be in the state of mind where your whimsical cravings supersede the desires of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of people to get home to see their families after a hard day of work.

This is giving Michelle Obama too much credit. The statement above presupposes that Michelle Obama actually has the desires of these people on her radar. She does not. Anyone who stops traffic in rush hour to obtain an obscure lettuce isn't thinking of anything other than impressing the "small people" with her nuanced palate.
Which brings me back to the political side of the current bunch of liars we have in office. They have more than the usual amount of disrespect for the people they serve (yeah that Chairman Mao again). It will not end well.

The group doing the singing is The Weavers. Pete Seeger was a member. Pete was a at one time a communist and as far as I know he is still on the left (he did repudiate Stalin).

Outsmarted By The Rubes

Stuart Taylor has a column up about how he was fooled by Obama's rhetoric.

Having praised President Obama's job performance in two recent columns, it is with regret that I now worry that he may be deepening what looks more and more like a depression and may engineer so much spending, debt, and government control of the economy as to leave most Americans permanently less prosperous and less free.

Other Obama-admiring centrists have expressed similar concerns. Like them, I would like to be proved wrong. After all, if this president fails, who will revive our economy? And when? And what kind of America will our children inherit?
The thing is that he was warned by the rubes: Joe the Plumber, (God forbid) Sarah Palin, and a raft of not so elite bloggers.

Peter Robinson in Forbes gets it.
A couple of implications here are worth noting. The first is that a deep, recurring pattern of American life has asserted itself yet again: the cluelessness of the elite.

Buckley, Gergen and Brooks all attended expensive private universities, then spent their careers moving among the wealthy and powerful who inhabit the seaboard corridor running from Washington to Boston. If any of the three strolled uninvited into a cocktail party in Georgetown, Cambridge or New Haven, the hostess would emit yelps of delight. Yet all three originally got Obama wrong.

Contrast Buckley, Gergen and Brooks with, let us say, Rush Limbaugh, whose appearance at any chic cocktail party would cause the hostess to faint dead away, or with Thomas Sowell, who occupies probably the most unfashionable position in the country, that of a black conservative.

Limbaugh and Sowell both got Obama right from the very get-go. "Just what evidence do you have," Sowell replied when I asked, shortly before the election, whether he considered Obama a centrist, "that he's anything but a hard-left ideologue?"

The elite journalists, I repeat, got Obama wrong. The troglodytes got him right. As our national drama continues to unfold, bear that in mind.
And of course the most important thing for any stage magician is that despite the fact that the audience knows that it is all fakery and illusion they want to believe any way. The nice thing about stage magic is that you pay once for the show and then it is over. We are going to be paying for this bit of governmental magic for generations to come.

But look at the bright side. We are going to be able to teach our kids how socialism works up close and personal. We will also be learning just how big of a black market a country like the USA can sustain.

H/T Instapundit who also tried to warn our elites during the election season and who was frequently mocked for the effort. Not to mention all the folks who assured me that the fact that Obama spent 20 years in the Church of Hate and who's family politics were Communist to the core didn't mean nothin. Despite the fact that I went to an elite school myself I wasn't taken in. To what do I credit that fact? The years I spent hanging out with outlaw bikers. Living with men who will slit your throat for a false move brings a certain amount of realism to one's life.

Obama Mentor Loved Children

That is right. Obama's communist mentor Frank Marshall Davis loved children. And not in a good way. The American Thinker has this "lovely" quote from The Telegraph UK:

The Telegraph UK is reporting that Davis, a close friend of Obama's mother and his maternal grandfather, published an autobiographical, pornographic book, "Sex Rebel:Black," under the pseudonym "Bob Greene."

Marshall admitted to having written the book, which he said describes factual sexual encounters that he and his wife had with minors and other couples. "I could not then truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine," said Davis. The Telegraph states that, "In the introduction to Sex Rebel, Davis explains that although he has "changed names and identities...all incidents I have described have been taken from actual experiences."

Marshall's book describes, in lurid detail, his sexual encounters, including multiple group encounters with his wife and a 13 year old girl: "I'm not one to go in for Lolitas. Usually I'd rather not bed a babe under 20. But there are exceptions. I didn't want to disappoint the trusting child. At her still-impressionistic age, a rejection might be traumatic, could even cripple her sexually for life."
I have nothing against kinky sex. Some people like it. Most others don't. And America is a free country. We have room here for all kinds. However, statutory rape seems to be pushing the envelope a little far.

The question for me is: was Obama a not only a willing student of Frank's Communism, but also involved in his other educational activities? Heaven knows we don't need another Clinton in the White House. It is unseemly and a distraction. The President is supposed to concentrate on Foreign Policy. OTOH if Biden takes on that job it could free Obama for more pleasurable pursuits. Maybe the deal is Obama takes on one kind of Foreign Affairs and Biden takes on the other kind. A division of labor if you will.

So Many Choices

Larry Johnson of No Quarter say Republicans are being offered a rich diet if Obama is the candidate.

I predicted on this blog four months ago that Barack’s relationship with an unrepentant terrorist would become a heated issue in the presidential contest. Although Obama insists that he barely knows Ayers, this is not true. Democrats, beware — the problems of Obama’s associations with Ayers will create serious problems in the fall campaign if he is the candidate. Republicans take heart — if Barack is the nominee, your only problem will be deciding whether or focus your campaign attack ads on Obama’s questionable ties to the corrupt Tony Rezko, the racist Jeremiah Wright, the terrorist group Hamas, or the unrepentant bomber, William Ayers.
Here is another take from Lin Farley of Savage Politics
I do not understand how William Ayers wound up teaching at a University, holding forth on how he didn’t do anything wrong. I can understand people in succeeding generations wanting to talk to the real deal. But I cannot understand lauding a man who does not regret setting bombs. I believe Weather Underground takes responsibility for over 200 bombings nationwide. I also cannot understand the attitude of a man who wants to be President of all the people of this country associating with Ayers. Let’s not debate the association. It is well documented and it goes beyond ‘we met a few times.’

The crucial question to me is similar to the quesiton I have about Wright, and it goes to the issue of his judgment. I was 23. Obama is twice my age, and these associations are recent. For me they have set off an alarm. Every person who loves this country and who hates injustice, sooner or later, must come to terms with how he or she will seek change. Obama, has to answer for his associates. He cannot dodge the issue by saying they are ‘harmless.’ These people are not innocent. And Obama’s association with Wright and Ayers is haunted by the cries of the ordinary and everyday people who have been killed by prejudice and by bombs all over this precious and vulnerable world.
That Obama sure has a lot of strange friends and associates. A lot of them seem to fall in the Communist Revolutionary category of one sort or another.

Lin mentions the protests at Century City in California in passing. I was at Century City for the protests.

Me and my friends stayed until President Johnson started giving his speech inside Century City. You could feel the crowd getting ugly. Violence was in the air. We beat feet. My policy is to not be there when a bullet or baton has my name on it. Unless it is my duty.

I remember seeing a picture of a girl getting her head cracked by the police in the paper the next day. She was a Communist I had talked to at the Be In at the park that afternoon. I told her violence was stupid. She said I was just a dumb hippie. My skull is still intact though.

Student Of Politics

And now how about a little bit about Obama, student of politics

In his books, Obama admits attending "socialist conferences" and coming into contact with Marxist literature. But he ridicules the charge of being a "hard-core academic Marxist," which was made by his colorful and outspoken 2004 U.S. Senate opponent, Republican Alan Keyes.

However, through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his "poetry" and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just "Frank."
Well, we all make mistakes in your youth. So has Obama come to his senses and figured out that the free market solutions to problems are probably in our best interests?

I didn't think so.

In 2004 I voted for the communist (Obama) over the theocon (Keyes). And I said so and why, before the election. But as I have stated frequently about Ron Paul, once is enough.

Ron Paul - Communist Sympathizer?

Front Page Magazine has a bit on Ron Paul's alignment with certain unsavory groups.

The campaign mounted by campus leftists against Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, which is scheduled to take place on more than 100 campuses during the week of October 22-26 has taken a new turn with the announcement of a counter-protest at the Washington Monument. The protest, which will be called “American Fascism Awareness Day” is being organized by Adam Kokesh of Iraq Veterans Against the War, the Revolutionary Communist Party, Students for Justice In Palestine, and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee among others and will feature speakers such as congressman Dennis Kucinich and presidential candidate Ron Paul, anti-war activists Cindy Sheehan and Harry Karry and actor Sean Penn. According to a spokesperson for the Revolutionary Communist Party, one of the sponsors of the event, “This is an answer to the Jew Horowitz and the neo-conservative Zionists who dragged us into an imperialist war in Iraq and are spreading hatred against Muslims to support their war plans against the Republic of Iran.”
I left the Libertarian Party because of their communist line on foreign policy. I'd say my diagnosis was 100% correct. It should have been. In my ill spent youth I was a follower of the Trots. This comes under the heading of suspicions confirmed.

HT Reference Frame commenter Larry R.

Update: It looks like I have been hoaxed. The "flyer" for the event lists Nov. 31st as the date of the event. There is no Nov. 31st on any calendar. I still stand by my point that the Libs have taken the Communist line on Foreign Policy. HT commenter Grant at Power and Control.
