Tupperware--Yay!

Friday, when I went to the Tupperware lady in the parking lot, I was reminded of a long-ago memory. My son had the Tupperware Shape O. I loved it. He did not know how to get the pieces in the holes. He was frustrated and never played with it. Well, his sister figured it out right away. He was so smart, but could not get the hang of this toy.

I found a key ring of the toy on Friday with one shape inside. It, of course, does not open. But, I love it because it reminds me of baby days.

Saturday. I awoke at 11 am, washed my hair, ate cereal, and we were on our way. The Tupperware lady thought it was going to rain, so did not set up because of the chance of wind. I wanted another key chain.

The search for the closest Birmingham precinct was an ordeal and took too much time. But, the two coats have been donated.

Then, we went to only one store where I found three things on my list of nine items. However, I bought other things that tempted me. The one item that shocked me when I arrived home was the ads for Coke right on the front of the card with Santa. Strange. He is holding a Coke, too. Maybe I can find my gold seals to stick over the ad. I also bought a pack of Christmas napkins I did not mean to buy.

Tommy had fluffed the tree on Friday, so I asked him to plug it up today. I cannot bend enough to get the electric cord.

We were out after dark which stressed me! I called him for thirty minutes to come and use the self-check-out. I cannot reach it from the electric cart. He will get a new phone since this one only twitters and he cannot hear it with it on the console or in his pocket. I have no idea if it has a vibrate mode. If it does, he cannot feel or hear that. I worry about what if I needed him.

We ate the last of the chicken and vegetables and salad tonight. Tommy will cook the 3 lbs. of ground beef when I chop onions. I found two huge bags of blueberries in the refrigerator that need to be cooked since they have thawed.

Tonight, we watched Home Alone for the third time this season. I absolutely love it again. We watched Home Alone 2 once this season.

My referral for lymphedema therapy is being held up. Lack of PA is holding up another med I was prescribed. So, what's new with my healthcare?

We are both exhausted. so I may make this an extra early night. Of course, this exhaustion has nothing with overdoing it because of Christmas. It's just me.

Did your child have a Tupperware Shape O? I think that is the name.

Since I cannot find mincemeat, I may make a blueberry pie.

How was your Saturday?

Any deals?

Any progress on Christmas?

SAD and Free Things Last Week and Onions

Sunday was mid 50s and damp feeling and sunless. I was not comfortable at all. The lack of light greatly affects me, more so lately.

Last week, I saw a shelf full of free books. I chose a Dean Koontz book, not knowing anything about the author or book. I have heard of him, but I don't remember what. I read fourteen pages and have not picked it up since. It is in the car, so I may read it there when I have a few moments to waste.

I planted twenty yellow onions Sunday. Thinking I could just pull out the weeds from the pot of bought soil, I did not wear gloves. I ended up with dirt under my fingernails as I had to put my hand in the dirt and pull out the roots. This pot has the free iris given to me. Now, it has onions, too. I hope onions and iris are compatible. I don't mind my hands being dirty, but I hate dirt packed under my nails.

The bag said these onions are to be planted during the fall for a head start on spring vegetables, but people tell me I should not plant now, to wait until spring. So, I have another 100 onions to plant somewhere.

At the lunch this week, I was talking to the woman who gave me the succulent, asking her about it. As we left she asked me if I liked to read. I assured her I did as she opened her purse to half a dozen books. When she asked if I like romance or mystery, I assured her that I like anything other than romance. I received Debbie Macomber's  "The Trouble with Angels."  I may not read this and give it back to her.

Then, she asked me if had gotten cards as she shuffled though a bunch of cards in sandwich bags lying on a table. No, I had not, so I brought home four Christmas cards that someone had left for us to take home.

So, now I have a bag of four cards, a ham and cheese sandwich from lunch, and two books. I ate the sandwich, will use the Christmas cards, and may dump the books!

My ear has been hurting all week. Doctor said nothing was wrong with it. ??? I suppose it could be a tooth, but I have been pecking the tooth--nothing. Plus, the other ear is starting to hurt.

Why are free books always boring or horrid books? Have you ever planted onions?--the little tiny onions?

Not Busy and Too Dizzy

When I awoke at 6:45 am Wednesday, I thought it was evening and I had slept all day. I did go to bed about 1 am, but since I really needed to rest more, I was confused, flipping from TV station to TV station, wondering why there was morning weather and news and where was the evening news.  Exbf was laughing as I related this because he said after a nap, he was sometimes confused.

Okay, got it? I was and am really ill. I was going to have to drive 25 miles to doctor today, and didn't think I could make it, so here I lie. I think exbf will have to drive me after the Christmas Party on Friday.

Today, I did get gifts to go to NY put into a Priority Mail box that I hope to get mailed Friday when exbf is here. I cannot find NY daughter's late birthday present, so I may have to buy something else or mail it even later.  Maybe tomorrow I can pack the ones for TX.

Staggering to the car to put the one gift box in there and going on to the mailbox have been my accomplishments outdoors today. I was hoping to feel well enough to drag a live trap out to set for raccoons. Oh, I did check my potatoes. They look pathetic.

Cheese toast, pecans, Kisses, milk, oj, a Coke, 3 Halos, and a sweet potato are all that I have consumed.  After our vicious little rush hour, I may drive slowly and redeem one of my Chick-fil-A coupons for a chicken sandwich. Maybe not. I really need KFC gravy. If I have enough money in my purse, I may get that. I don't want to write a check. Got both CFA sandwich and KFC gravy and spent about $1.50. Later, I will eat something green, maybe turnip greens.

One other thing I did was address Christmas cards for the Christmas card exchange organized by Anne at New Happenings at the Table...  Now, I remember where my stamps are. They have been living in the car...sigh.

I need to buy one more small gift and packing tape if I cannot find any here by Friday. The last roll of packing tape shredded in so many little strips that I threw it away. Hopefully, I have more around here.

And, I now see, late tonight, that I left some gifts out of that box. So, I repack and squish things in. Or, maybe get a large Priority box. And, I feel worse tonight.

Your turn
Did you ever awaken so sick you were confused about the time of day, as to whether it was morning or night?

Yard Sale finds

Last Summer and Fall Frugal Finds to Suit Parsimonious Me

One dozen
10-hour candles
$0.25 0r $0.02 each
Only one candle had been lit and snuffed out before wax melted. These were originally $1.09. I paid a QUARTER. Although I do not like burning candles for ambiance or for light in an emergency, I have 120 hours of free light. I do burn candles for light and ambiance outdoors. So, these were a good buy.

Did you notice I have a candle chunk? They are melted together, but a knife will take care of that.

Free--25 cards

This whole box of cards has been addressed and stamped, ready to give to others in the church. the "Value Box" of 25 cards was originally $2. There is an assortment of cards, some, like this one would be perfect for use as a name tag on a gift. And, I got these just a few weeks ago, not in the fall. I immediately removed the cards and tossed the envelopes. The back of each card has an additional small picture that can be used, also.

Everything in the picture was marked a quarter. Then, everything was half price. So, for $0.50 I got all that is in the picture. The child's play pie pans are very old, heavy enough to really bake in. Children's toys long ago were actually miniatures of the real thing. These may go to my little g-daughter; I may sell it. The gaudy tassel was sort of sweet. I need a new fan pull. Maybe it will work. I like small candy dishes but refuse to buy things full price for Christmas. This will work for me. I may even give it to one of my daughters.

Did I show you this?

I have always wanted a steamer!

It folds up... so cute. See how shiny it is...Looks new....Good quality stainless steel....Made in USA.

Aren't those cute little feet?
Okay, maybe the tassel is junk. The rest is useful. Plus, I have gotten rid of so many things from my home. I sold enough of the items I bought at this one sale to pay for what I bought and have a small profit. I may have paid $0.50 or $1, not sure.

That would make $1.75 for today's show and tell, maybe just $1.25. I got this all in the fall.

Your turn
So, that is part of what I brought home. Is there anyone else who is taken, smitten, by child-sized dishes and baking ware? Who is looking forward to yard sale season to be in full swing? Have you found anything cool to share?
