Black Eye & Cold Front & Snail on Me

I awoke to a black eye from the freezing of spot under my eye. And, I could not see out of that eye well, because a huge lump obscured my view. Today, it is worse. It is going to take nerve on my part to return.

Today, well right now, cleaner is here washing my car to sell. I don't feel like driving to car wash and need stickers on my tag. I don't want to get a ticket.

I told Tommy three days ago we needed to find the bottle of car wash liquid in the house. I reminded him several times each day. Well, he decided last night he would look. Of course, he did not look where I was sure it was located. So, we left to go buy some and got home at 2:25 this afternoon when we expected her at 2:30. Then, she did not get here until after 3:45. It is okay, but I could have been sleeping.

We will have a cold front come through. Yes, it is going to be all the way down to 90 this weekend. Whoopee!

Dinner--pork loin, carrots, onions, potatoes, tomatoes in cole slaw, green beans All are leftovers. Tommy will have a salad. I will have slaw and tomatoes. I like to chop the tomatoes and stir them into my slaw. Tomato juice running into the slaw is a plus.

Every day we watch the Olympics, not all of it, not all of the events. And, the events we do watch, we don't even watch all the event. It is fun to see. The gymnasts are the ones I really want to see.

One evening, at 7:30 I noticed an alert for delivered package. It was delivered about 6:30. Tommy got it in and gave it to me. It took about ten minutes to open, get the items out and the box off my lap. About two minutes later I felt something went on my midriff. It looked like a very wet bean. I touched it and realized it was a snail. This was horrifying. It wanted to crawl away. I got a Kleenex, captured it, and one of us flushed it, Tommy, I think.

I am quite sure the snail was not inside the box. So, snails must like the porch. Yuck. I will be mindful of box deliveries, well, any deliveries. I was so grossed out. I hate snails!

Having an elevated temp make me so tired.

Do snails repulse you as much as they do me?

Do You Eat In Middle of the Night?

The cleaner is here for two hours. She has made my bed and is now cleaning the bathroom. That is all I expect her to do today. Oh, and I want her to take the Christmas lights off the tomato cage. I don't know why Tommy does not want to do it, but he said he does not want to. Maybe next time, she can help put away the few things that are Christmas and stacked on a table in here.

I added more things to my call and do list. I have paid two credit/debit cards this morning.

This is a sore spot with me. Two weeks ago, I called because I 'lost' my debit card, right here in the house, I was sure. Well, the next day, of course, I found it right at my elbow. Since I knew, according to the banker, that my card had been cancelled. Now, a new one had to be ordered. Annoyed at myself, I did not call. I was to expect it in 3-5 business days. I know how that works. Yesterday, I called to see if all was going as planned since the new card was overdue. She told me the debit card was still active and there was no record of a new one being ordered or even mentioned. I was fit to be tied. I had been using Tommy's CC all this time. I am glad I decided to be an annoyance and call about the debit card. Grrr

I still have not heard from the tree guy or electrician or mower. We are expecting rain on Friday, so two of those guys better hurry.

We went out and I left my phone at home. So, no more phone calls. I was fit to be tied! So, no doctors calls. Nothing. We went to new location of farmer's market and could not find farmers from whom we buy, mostly clothes and junk. Since I was so annoyed, we just came home. I decided I would have a doughnut and that put me out. That and the fact I lost sleep last night, forgot why. Oh, my eye hurt. It felt like I had an eyelash under the top lid. Then, I had to get up for cleaner.

Tomorrow, I have an appointment to have teeth cleaned. Plus, I do need to make more phone call. The three men who should call will all probably want to come here to do their thing. Nope.

Today, cleaner did make my bed. She forgets what I want done to bed, so I stay to see it is done correctly. The bathroom was cleaned top to bottom. Tommy washed rugs and put them back. The Christmas lights are down and in box. Progress!

Tommy jumps when the monitor goes off. He ate at 4:30 this morning. I hate he has to wake up to eat. But, he goes right back to sleep. And, he still writes in his spiral notebook. Does anyone else have a monitor that goes off during the night? Do you get up and eat? I only mean after a monitor goes off!

In My Eye

About two weeks ago a gnat or fruit fly was flying about my face. I shooed it away and it came back and dive-bombed my eye, left eye and outer corner.

It was horrendous. Since digging it out that night, my corner of that eye has swollen, ached, and felt like a fine needle was being stabbed into my eye corner. Every time I put my finger, hand or sheet there and caused horrendous pain with the lightest touch, my eyes watered and my nose ran.

Today, I touched the edge of my eye, outside lashes, actually, at lashes. The pain was so excruciating I was not having it anymore. I called all opthamologists in town and all were not in or something. I was told to go to an optometrist. Mine was not in this week ???

So, I went to Marx Optical and they caught the doctor just before he left. I had to read the eye chart, have my eyes numbed, optical pressure taken, blood pressure taken....aaagh. Yes, my blood pressure was elevated. Just look in my eye!

The doctor finally came and looked in my eye. He could see nothing. He was going to hold my lid down with a little stick and turn the lash back over it. Well, the stick located the exact pain place and he never touched my eyelashes because I winced.  My eyes were watering, nose was running. I was sniffing.

Finally, forgot how, he saw it. He said it was an ingrown eyelash.  Knowing the answer, I asked how he was going to get it out. Pull it out. Is that okay. After all the pain he caused me, he asked if it hurt. I think he was surprised it did not hurt at all. My eye, actually inside my upper lid was inflamed. So, I got a prescription of two antibiotics and cortisone.

I absolutely cannot believe I was in such agony for two weeks with excruciating pain and minimized it.

Have you ever let something go trying to just suck it up and deal? I know you have because most of you are women.

Laser Eye Surgery and Candy

Today, I sort of feel better, just tiring easily. I did nothing around the house or yard.

It took a trip to the bank and then inside to find out info. While there, I cashed a check that is a refund from ATT--$18.48. That's how much I saved per month by going to auto-pay.

I went to opthamologist  to have bubbles behind the lens zapped with laser. Once again, the laser sounds sounded just like shots in a video game. Little rings of color were also present in my eye I had to keep open. It is really sort of fascinating.

While waiting in waiting room, the last lens fell out of my glasses. So, I was blind. Well, I could not entertain myself with reading. It made for a long office visit.

After a checkup to see that all is well, I am set. All I need to do after the checkup is go to get eyes tested and have lenses made for glasses. I am going to use my broken frames because I can find none I like.

The lost screw meant a trip to WM to get a screw put back to hold the frame around the lens. The woman acted like this was all new to her. Hopefully, she put the lens in straight.

I picked up a coupon that is worth $17, but cost me $6. It is a trip for two at DQ for 2 4-piece chicken fingers, fries, Texas toast, and small drink. I always save the Texas Toast for later. From now on, I am getting unsweetened tea instead of yucky Pepsi.

I found an Easter candy that is the best! And, it is only fifty-cents. It is a Russell Stover Coconut Cream Egg. The inside tastes like a Mounds bar, my favorite candy bar. The outside is dark chocolate, just like Mounds. Except, the Russell Stover dark chocolate is better and much thicker. It's a fifty-cent treat with 120 calories.

Since my one eye was dilated, it's difficult to even see to type. Tomorrow, I will have the worst headache ever from having my eye dilated.

By the way, I have the little eyeglass repair kit. However, I cannot see well enough to repair anything. And, this is the only pair of glasses I have. That will be rectified soon.

I have no idea how this could fill up a while afternoon! Well, it was six hours.

Have you been cruising the Easter candy as I have? Looking or buying?
