Where Does Your Worth Come From?

Does your worth come from your career success? Does it come from how much education you have? Does it come from the colour of your skin, the shape of your eyes, where you were born or where you live? Does worth come from how others judge you? Is your worth rooted in how much money you have, the size of your home or what kind of car you drive?

The answer to all of these is no. You are worthy simply because you exist. You are alive and therefore have value. Think of yourself in only the most loving of ways because you deserve nothing less.

Find Your Power!

Power can be found in your words and how you use them.

Power can be found in the things you do, your actions speak volumes.

Power can be found in the writings and what you express on the page.

Power can be found in how you present yourself, cleanliness is next to Godliness.

Find what makes you feel powerful and strong. Then you will be able to accomplish absolutely anything and everything. Dreams are realized when you feel powerful.

Choose Wisely

Choose people who make you feel good about yourself.

Choose people who love you unconditionally.

Choose people who bring you joy.

Choose people who make you smile.

Choose people who hold you up when you can’t stand alone.

Choose people who accept the good, bad and ugly parts of yourself.

Choose people who lift you up, provide comfort when you need it and don’t judge or make you feel uncomfortable.

Choose your people, whether they are friends or family, wisely. It’s important for your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.

Control

There are many things out of my control and that’s a tough pill to swallow.

I can’t control other people in their actions, words they speak or the way they think. I can only control myself.

I can control what I do.

I can control my thoughts.

I can control my reactions.

I can control my emotions.

As for the other stuff, I have to let it go and simply hope and have faith that all will work out for the best because God is the one in control. He walks with me and has every step planned for me.

Joy Is Near

As we begin the Christmas season, I hope you find joy. You may be in a season of sadness, regret, anger, fear or despair. Know that this season is temporary and joy will once again be yours.

God knows your pain. He will make your burden easier and He will bring comfort when you think you are alone. Your tears will turn into laughter and you will be okay.

Find Your Peace

I am a worrier.

I don’t like to give up control.

I had plans but they didn’t always turn out the way I had hoped, wanted or expected.

Sometimes I lose faith and question God’s plan for me.

The thing is though, no one’s view of their future is certain. Life always has bumps in the road. Our journey is rarely fully in our control. God does have a plan and we all need to trust that all is as it should be. My prayer today is that God helps me to let go of what I can’t control and find peace with the direction my life is going.

Feel Good Friday!

It’s the end of another week! What did you do that you’re proud of? How did you treat people this week? What did you do for yourself this week that filled your cup?

Were you kind? Did you smile at someone? Did you compliment someone? Did you help someone?

Did you treat yourself to a new recipe? Did you move your body this week? Did you take yourself out on a date? Did you get your nails done, buy yourself a new outfit, get a haircut or buy yourself flowers?

Did you start a new hobby, perhaps something you’ve always wanted to learn? Did you start a blog or sign up for a class to further your education? Did you push yourself to do something you’ve been putting off or is outside your comfort zone?

Whatever you did that you’re proud of, celebrate that! Life can be tough sometimes and it’s important to mark good moments with joy! It’s important to feel pride in who you are and all the wonderful things you do to make your life and all the lives of the people you impact better!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Your Assignment

God has given you an assignment, one that is specifically chosen for you and your talents, skills, knowledge and abilities.

If you’re a teacher you have been assigned to your students to lead them in their education.

If you’re a wife/husband/partner you have been assigned to someone so that you can work as a team as you journey through life together.

If you’re a parent you have been assigned to your child to teach them right from wrong and to help them grow into productive and happy adults.

If you’re a daughter/son you have been assigned to a parent(s) who you are meant to listen to and respect and care for as they age.

Ponder carefully what your role is in your life and what your assignment is. Fulfill that purpose so when your judgement day comes you can hear from God the words, “I am proud of you.”

It’s Okay

It’s okay to cry.

It’s okay to not be everything for everyone all of the time.

It’s okay to be angry, frustrated, overwhelmed, anxious or sad.

It’s okay if all you can do is get out of bed.

It’s okay if you need alone time.

It’s okay to ask for help.

It’s okay to say no.

It’s okay to take time out for yourself.

It’s okay to take pause and catch your breath but it’s NOT okay to give up. Just keep going. Tough moments don’t last forever and your future self will be proud that you kept moving forward. That’s what I try to tell myself on this journey of healing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It’s not easy but with the help and support of my family and friends I will get to the other side. You can do it too!

Above All Else, Be Kind

We are all faced with challenges and hardships. We are dealt cards that feel unfair and overwhelming. We seek to understand the injustices bestowed upon us but cannot find the answers. We are expected to be strong and not fall under the weight of everything that is pulling us down. Our burdens feel like they are louder than our blessings.

Remember these feelings when you interact with people today. If you are experiencing these emotions and thoughts, then you surely aren’t the only one. How do you want people to treat you today? Do you want someone to smile at you, give you a hug, speak words of comfort or to simply listen? Do you want people to be patient with you and give you a space that feels safe and understanding?

If these are things you desire on your most difficult days then remember above all else, be kind to others. Our battles aren’t always visible but kindness makes all battles, seen or unseen, a little easier to bear.
