I’m a software developer from Istanbul, and my WordPress story started with a simple idea: could I build a real business without building everything from scratch?

In Turkey, getting high-quality custom stickers was difficult. Ordering from abroad was expensive, and local options were limited. Instead of creating a custom ecommerce system, I built the first version of my sticker business with WordPress and WooCommerce.

That project became Stickker.net. WordPress helped me launch quickly, test the idea, and focus on customers instead of infrastructure. What started as a side project grew into Turkey’s first online sticker manufacturing service, serving developers, designers, startups, and many others.

After a six-year journey, Stickker.net was acquired by Sticker Mule.

For me, WordPress was more than a platform. It helped me move from being a software developer to becoming an entrepreneur. And today, my story has come full circle: I’m now part of the WordPress team at Automattic, helping build the platform that once helped me build my own business.
