The National Quilt Museum Collection

The collection of the National Quilt Museum includes extraordinary quilted artwork representing today’s quilters from the United States and around the world. Quilts in our collection are all made after 1980, and represent the best of contemporary quilting in a wide range of styles, techniques, inspiration, and unique artistic voices.

SCHOOL BLOCK CHALLENGE 2026

School Block Challenge is a quilt block competition and exhibit, sponsored by Moda Fabrics, for children grades K-12 nationwide. Moda generously provides three challenge fabrics that must be included in every block entry.

CHARLES CAMERON: A CURIOUS MODERN QUILTER

Charles Cameron, a North Carolina-based Modern Quilter, is an Engineer by training and vocation while tending toward creative endeavors to maintain balance. Charles’ work explores the use of bright colors, color value, and a mixture of precision and whimsey to reinvent more traditional quilt patterns and designs.

2026 Competition

This biennial contest and traveling exhibition organized by The National Quilt Museum challenges quiltmakers to create innovative original quilts combining traditional patterns with varied cultural themes.
