We in India are pretty friendly with gods. Not only that we have countless to choose from according to one’s own tastes, the relationship is pretty much personal and informal. We not only worship them but also demand things, accuse, avoid and even bribe them. Most of our gods are not those serious looking types, but are quite humane in many ways, playing pranks. Gods play a very important role in the everyday life on any Indian- you can’t find a vehicle in India without a god’s photo or idol on the dashboard (If you ever wondered why there aren’t as many accidents in this chaotic traffic!)

But then we also try to fool around with gods. Not in a big way (we are also afraid of them) but more as a matter of convenience (and gods do understand that!). Here are two examples I came across:

1. We had…

Scrolling through my blog feed recently, I encountered this picture. My initial reaction was, “This couldn’t be any more relevant.” And I realized the truth was all here. This is the most common perception of the women of these two very different cultures. I never really understood the importance of the Hijab or the religious significance. However, living in California all my life, I was almost always surrounded by pictures of bare skinned women and girls walking around in their bikinis on the beaches. I didn’t stop to think twice about how conflicting our American culture was compared to that of the Islamic culture.

People all over the world have had their own opinions about Muslim women’s choice of attire.  In 2004, France banned the wearing of Hijabs in their schools, even while Islam is the second most practiced religion in the country. In the U.S., a little…

The gardens of Maine around Bar Harbor are legendary. There are Azalea gardens, and Japanese gardens, and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Gardens — one is more spectacular than the next. This is the area fringing Acadia State Park, and considering how rugged are  the winters, the short summer season is surprisingly Arcadian.

The bright green moss carpet provides a backdrop for our contrasting pair: Old and Young.

The trees on the right certainly look old  — but how old can birches be? Depending on the variety of birch, it might make it to 40, or even to 140 years. But compare it to the Korean stone “scholar” statue at the left, which is centuries old, and the birch tree is a youngster. And we? We are infants, or mayflies, which live scarcely 24 hours.

So age, like so much else, is relative! I wonder what you think about this, what…

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”

– Buddha

Here’s a creeping disease you’ve got to watch out for. It’s called Inner Peace, and if we’re not careful, it could reach epidemic proportions. Signs and symptoms of Inner Peace include the following:

  1. An increased tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen.
  2. Frequent attacks of smiling.
  3. Feelings of being connected with others and nature.
  4. Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
  5. A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than from fears based on past experience.
  6. An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
  7. A loss of ability to worry.
  8. A loss of interest in conflict.
  9. A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
  10. A loss of interest in judging others.
  11. A loss of interest in judging self.
  12. Gaining the ability to love without expecting anything in return.

If you have most of these symptoms, it may…

Green to Blue to Bluer.

On Saturday, I helped a friend pick up a motorcycle in Columbus, OH. While siting outside waiting, I saw this beautiful blue sky and loved how the trees cut the contrast between the green grass and blue sky.

786…..Approaching Divinity

 Becoming transparent

eye manifest divinity

me, myself, and eye,

Form the Holy Trinity

in oneness

my essence knows no multiplicity

The vibration of light slowed down creates matter

Meditation stills the chatter

of the mind

The first rung of the ladder

of self-realization

is hard to find

It lies at the base of the spine

http://www.intotheheart.org/jpgs/ChakraGoddess.jpg

eye have been in heaven several times

When the serpent started to climb

eye was intoxicated by celestial wine

Engulfed by the light

in reality eye do not exist

The lover dies in the love of the fire of the beloved’s kiss

I am that I am

eye am approaching divinity

18,000 universes exist inside of me

The self of the Self can only be measured by infinity

Definitely, definitively eye am approaching divinity

Seeing myself beyond the body on the astral plane of the soul

was completely perplexing

Etheric light body
